Good post. Who are the pure mids that you would have ahead of Laverde?

I'm not sure about his two way running capabilities

He's tall (around 189cm), has explosive speed and is a good long kick. He has that Gerard Healy like side step that helps him to weave through traffic, and he loves to take the game on and break the lines. Admittedly I haven's seen a lot of the u/18 games, just a handful, so I'm no expert. On BF the guys who see a lot of games have him rated from top 5 to 10. I think he is what we need.

I was thinking the same thing. I would not be surprised if we went for two mids, Brayshaw seems certain for pick two. That leaves either Laverde or Ahern, possible Lever if they think he can go through the middle. Laverde does look like a great prospect though, he certainly has something that would really benefit our team.

Just on the $10k donation by McLean, I remember reading somewhere that the donation was due to a fine set by the leadership group, however I have a feeling that I read it on a footy forum, either here or BF, not sure where. I've just spent a bit of time searching the internet for a reference without success so I have no proof either way. Without evidence I have to presume that it's made up and I would give him the benefit of the doubt. On thing that I have no doubt about at all though is that for a long time this club was very poorly run, I mean as bad as it could get. I really don't blame anyone for wanting to leave during that time. During my search I've come across some of my own posts back then defending the club for what I realise now was incredibly stupid decisions, how wrong I was. It's a valuable lesson to learn.

I think he is worth having a chat to. At best he is a hard at it wrecking machine who throws his frame around, at worst he's a major off field disruption. Get Roos to have a chat with him to gauge where he's at, a lot of players can change after being dumped by their club, it could be the making of him. I don't think we're in a position to at least not consider all of our options.

I have a mate who is a big GWS fan. Earlier in the year we were talking about Frawley possibly leaving and I suggested that he'd be a good fit for GWS, he said no way, they don't need Frawley because they have this kid called Frost who'll be better. Of course I thought he was raving but then I had a closer look at the kid and was impressed. Now my mate is [censored] (although happy with their trading). I'm pretty freakin happy about the trade

For a pick like 23 you hope that the player will end up being a 200 gamer, but it's obviously not guaranteed. I'm confident that Frost is going to be a big (pun intended) part of our backline for the next decade, he fits our need, he's already been in the system for a couple of years and is ready to go from day one. St. Kilda would have taken him in the psd, no doubt about it. We did the right thing.

Frost is going to walk into our starting 18, he'll also be able to take the bigger forwards. A good result

I'm really happy about this trade, He'll never be an absolute star but he'll be a dependable 10 year key defender that every team needs. A pretty handy replacement for Frawley.
