  1. Tried that and got hit by a ? firewall
  2. GW$ have been given more time to prepare their defence in the Whitfield farce saga. Likely outcome is a wet lettuce delivered over the holidays when everybody's looking away.
  3. In that case, you can start spewing now RTG because I've thought long and hard to come up with my first 2017 Phantom Draft. 1. Charlie Spargo (Murray Bushrangers) GWS Academy2. Darcy Fogarty (Glenelg SA) 3. Jarrod Brander (Bendigo Pioneers) GWS Academy4. Jaidyn Stephenson (Eastern Ranges)5. Connor Ballenden (Brisbane Lions) Brisbane Lions Academy6. Sam Hayes (Eastern Ranges)7. Hunter Clark (Dandenong Stingrays)8. James Worpel (Geelong Falcons)9. Jack Higgins (Oakleigh Chargers)10. Jack Powell (Canberra) GWS Academy That makes three early picks available to GWS through the academy system assuming their zone isn't changed to exclude the Riverina District which isn't really being "developed" by the Giants anyway (and note where my picks 1 & 3 are playing). Here is an article about the GWS Academy that might be of interest.
  4. A timely reminder for me to start working on my 2017 Phantom Draft.
  5. Glacial in comparison to the way it came out immediately on the day the CAS judgement was made in January and announced its contingency plan to top up the Essendon list with players and confirm that in the event that their weakened team finished last, it would still have first pick in the draft notwithstanding the CAS findings.
  6. I heard him on SEN this afternoon suggesting the AFL should move our game v Geelong to the G to get a bigger crowd. Nice try Chris.
  7. T20 Mickey Mouse stuff.
  8. No offense to the people who live there but it's a bit of a way down in the world from Toorak to McKinnon, isn't it?
  9. I thought Voges was gone myself and would have gone for one of the younger up and comers but let's see how he goes on tour.
  10. I think you've both committed a breach by alluding to the unmentionable and should be banned.
  11. Whoever we go for the first thing we need to do with the player is ensure that we have adequate insurance cover.
  12. Good preparation for the NAB Challenge match in Alice Springs.
  13. Even when he's not in the test side Monty gets into the news - http://m.ntnews.com.au/sport/ground-announcer-sacked-after-panesar-comments-in-alice-springs/story-fnk0b28u-1226772077510]Ground announcer sacked after Panesar comments in Alice Springs Surely, the ground announcer gets tool of the week?
  14. Meanwhile, Marley Williams' victim remains hospitalized and the assault barely warrants a footnote to someone else's main story.
  15. I believe that part of the deal finalised today for Hogan and Barry was that Jack Viney must cease and desist from any attempt at tackling, body slams or other violent attacks on the little mongrel until the end of the 2014 season.
  16. Who do you think I was writing about old timer?
  17. After carrying his overweight no hoper of a slob of a father for several years, guess who's succumbed to a back injury and consequently is out of his side for this week's game?
  18. Protest upheld. Driefontein wins.
  19. Changes for Perth? Watson, if fit replaces Cowan or Marsh and if he can bowl his inclusion means the bowlers used in the first two tests all play? Wicketkeeper?
  20. What about this brilliant actor portraying an old Australian bodgie:
  21. I think in its in the public interest to discuss the Prime Minister's wage of $485k p.a. At first, I considered this to be an obscenity and then I thought about it and when I took into account that one AFL footballer with a wonky knee is going to take home $2m next year and his old man is going to get $2k per week watching 17 & 18 y.os running around on the weekend, I came to the conclusion that Julia's pay is just about right.
  22. Back in the 1960s there was dance craze instigated by rock legend Chubby Checker called the Clutterbuck. It was commonly misnamed the "Hucklebuck".
  23. You blokes are getting slack. The Oracle just announced in his article on the Jack Trengove board that there are ten days to go before the rookie draft. Also, you can now get bananas for $1.99 kilo. The bottom's fallen off the banana market.
  24. We've been labelled as a "soft" club because our players like being mollycoddled but the reality of life in this professional game is you get nowhere with that sort of treatment. As a club, we're living proof of this and the playing group is going to have to learn what it takes to be successful - the hard way.
  25. Now if the Irish crickiters can do that for Jimmy, our footballers should be able to achieve the same thing. Fantastic stuff and I'm only sorry that the Netherlands just missed out on beating them in the first game because their tournament would have been over by now i that were the case.
