  1. Scarves are back as well - which I think is cool. Already have a few drawers at home filled up with them, but I like getting the new ones and seeing everyone wearing them at the games. A few years back I saw and commented to fellow demon who had sewn a heap on them together and had made massive poncho out of them! It was fantastic! One of the best features about the pack is the absence of obvious bullsh*t about our 'strong financial position' that characterised previous administration's literature. The funky little calendar and The Age home delivered for a year for $25 is fantastic value as well.
  2. Just called the club - MFC are using Casey Fields on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 8.30am. Apparently there for sure tomorrow - I live not far from there so will probably check it out. Membership calendars are being sent out next week.
  3. On SEN this morning it was said that the Dogs, Tigers and Dees were about to announce major sponsorship deals. That said, there is little you can rely on that is said on that station, particularly 'prizes' of golf games with one former 'star' who now features on the station.
  4. Scott West becomes a Dee! Pity is was not five years ago and not now as assistant midfield coach, but a true champion coming onboard is MAGNIFICENT!
  5. Just made my donation. When we are back up there everyone who puts something into this and buys their membership can be genuinely proud - you have made decisive action, not just watched the team on the TV and read about them in the paper.
  6. Anyone out there get selected for this one? What did you say in your application to get picked? I have been a member for a fair while, go to all the games, wife's family all go for Dees, my children will be left on the roadside if they go for anyone else........ no dice?! Who did they want? Oh well.
  7. Did anyone see what the sign the Filth cheer squad held up at the end of the match said? I was up a level and behind it but it looked something like "now we have won the match get off our ground". The security guards were keen to get it off them so it must have said something inflammatory. If it was what I thought it looked like they are really are the morons that people joke they are. They certainly look like the base level.
  8. I am confused as to why we need bases in both places. When we move into the new stadium we can train on Gosh's Paddock as Collingwood will take over the area vacated by the Athletics, so why would we still need Casey Fields? Alternatively if Casey Fields is only going to be a summer base untill we move into the new stadium, why would we expect the Casey Council to hand over thousands in land to us? What am I missing here?
  9. Berwick, so I am 10-15 minutes away. If it is going to be just used as a training base in summer it will not make a pinch of difference to support. The amount of growth out here is crazy but people are not going to start following Melbourne just because we train in the off season near them. If we wholly moved out here and had practice games here and made a go of it we would pick up support, no doubt at all. But as we are going to have whatever it is going to be in Gosh's Paddock in 1.5 to 2 years, this is unlikely.
  10. Silver Member, bought membership for two years when living in London. I do not bother talking footy with people who are not members of the clubs they 'support'.
  11. What a bunch of moping, self-flagellating, perspective losing, dreary people. If you had not guessed, my pot was a light-hearted one, the more you act like a loser, the more you are one! If your like this in round one I reckon you will all top yourselves by the end of the season, have a laugh and indulge in some good old fashioned slagging off the opposition!
  12. Flubber Dew jumped around today as if he is a gun. No way you can tell me he could have done this other than in a team that that was not totally dominating the opposition. Domination he had not added to whatsoever. Has there been a more blatantly overweight man take the field since football became wholly professional? I think not.
  13. It started on a Friday, I gave them until Tuesday to tell me the revised date, then started calling them every second day. 'The Run Home" producer has called me back a few times to tell me it will happen and tell me new dates that have passed by. Francis Leach even answered the phone one time and told me it would be no worries and that we will sort it out. Yeah right.
  14. Four weeks ago I 'won' a round of golf with Ox and some unnamed Demons players on SEN 'The Drive Home'. 45 minutes after I was told I was going the next day (I could hear Ox's voice in the background) I got another call saying that it has fallen through and that I would go next week. I have now been given 2 different dates that have passed by without a call from anyone at SEN. I am filthy at how this has been dealt with.
  15. There was an article in 'The Australian' yesterday saying he is. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5012432,00.html Friends and family shake their heads when I tell them I am going to do it to myself again this weekend....... go and watch the Demons.
  16. Just listening to SEN, Schwartz reckons we are going to come in at 10th at the end of the season. The Dees I saw at Skilled on Saturday looked better than last year - Moloney's long kicks into the forward line are back, Robbo uninjured, Davey+Brock maturing, Miller looked better, more mobile backline options, more options in the ruck, Jones developing ball magnet, Pickett in his second year (which is always better than the first) at the club, our skilled outside players will get to play outside rather than ball getters (you know who I am talking about)......... I reckon we should have a good year and should be excited - what is this bloke on about? Is his penchant for the Hawks eating his brain? Is he just another of those boofhead media types - I had rated him more than that.
