  1. Watts got 27 touches, put his body on the line (again), set up goals, held it up in the scoring zone, ran the length of the ground the whole night. While he is a bit gun shy when it comes to kicking goals, he has been a great forward presence. McKenzie got 26 touches, tough as nails, tackled, grappled, flicked out great handpasses from the pack, put in a 4 quarter effort, has all year. Is not a flashy player but you know you are going to get his best [censored] week in week out. While I almost had heart failure about 5 times in the last quarter, I am loving this season and these guys deserve the nod.
  2. I saw him play a bit in the Casey Twos the previous week against Port Melbourne and the week after he said in an interview that his doctor said his knee had pulled up fine. Why didn't he play the following week? I would like to see him play as many games as possible before heading into the pre-season.
  3. Just putting the confirmation on Skulls wisdom teeth out - I am out in Berwick and know people close to him.
  4. Awesome show starts on SBS 7.30 tonight. All about the Barassi family history, which means there is Demon history in there to. Barassi is the biggest name in football, legend player, legend coach and he is a DEMON. When will the AFL get smart and call the Premiership Cup the 'Barassi'?
  5. Underwood is a moron that should not be calling football. She says nothing unless Geelong is going well and barracks for her favourite players. Should be given the flick to call something else or get another job.
  6. Marngrook Footy Show is the best footy show by miles. The speak respectfully about the game, bring in old and new players and ask them interesting questions that are actually relevant. The panellists do jibe each other a bit, but this is done in a playful, entertaining way. I have not watch that channel 9 crap for 4 years.
  7. Harry O'Brien cannot get his mug in the paper enough. Who is our own Jana Rawlinson? Robbo used to love it, has someone taken over his mantle?
  8. He was playing and therefore partially responsible for these losses he is making stupid remarks about. If the passionate, massive, tribal, huge, etc crowds that follow the blues and pies around are cretins, then call me a wannabe cretin.
  9. Fair enough he made a choice to leave - his role was going to be diminished by the talent we have got coming in and was probably offered a lesser contract. But he must be aware of the effect the comments that he apparently made after the match last night would have. Tie that in with the certain of treachery that is inherent in leaving a club and you have got a souring relationship. Some people were embarassed when we booed Bock last year, but I thought it gave the 'G the feeling of a 'home ground crowd' that we have not had in a while. Why then not show this guy that we will not just give him a pat on the back as he walks away to what he thinks will be greener pastures?
  10. Ha Ha! Just something I noticed yesterday afternoon and then saw the report today and the two do not seem to match up.
  11. At training last night that whenever the boys in the rehab group dropped the ball they did 3 push ups - except Watts, he did sit ups instead. If he had a back injury, I would have thought that sit ups would be more risky than push ups?
  12. I was very happy to get an indication that Jurrah has bought some of his magic into the new year - he was slotting goals from the edge of the centre square during the final, goal kicking, drill. Pleased to see that Maloney's 'lower leg injury' was not as season ending as it sounded the other day - he seems in terrific shape. Wona looks to be working on his short passing - every one seems to be an attempt at a worm burner - does this signal a move up the field? Watts seems to do everything at a pace that suits him - even after a lift in intensity has been requested by training staff - but maybe that is an indication of whatever it is that is causing him to have a slightly reduced program than the others than an attitude. Frawley's shoulders/guns are huge. Blease looks fit and seems to have grown a bit taller. Same goes for Maric - he looks great. Can hardly contain my excitement about Scully/Trengove/Gysberts. Scully's running is freakish. Dunn's shape to me looks like he will take a greater role up either end of the field rather than getting the job to run with or tag an opposition player that he done a bit of over time. The squad LOOKS fit, but I was surprised how much the boys seemed to be just going through the motions, during one criss-cross drill the balls hit the ground quite a bit but no one really seemed to get upset by this. It was a hot day and someone said they had been doing other stuff today so I guess they thought this was ok. I am not saying this due to what that dill Crawford had apparently wrote, I did not know about that until I got home after training and read others thoughts.
  13. Anyone else notice they have used a picture from the Cats v Hawks Grand Final on the front cover?! They did a pretty good job of hiding it by photoshopping our sponsors in, but you can see the cats and hawks jumpers in the curve of the 2 in 2009 and the Hankook sign on the scoreboard is floating in the air. I initially noticed when I saw the size of the crowd and thought, I have been to all of the games for a fair few years and have not seen that many people there for a while!
  14. If you're Melbourne, you should watch this video. I am watched it at work and almost lost it!
  15. Newton's miss from 4 metres out deep into the match against Adelaide when we had not yet scored a goal was the most pathetic thing I saw from one of our players this year, I reckon.
  16. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsart...38/default.aspx Sean Wellman uses 'real' or 'really' 79 times. There is some REALLY interesting stuff in there though.
  17. Unbelievable potential lost, but managed to still have a very good career despite terrible injuries. Do not know how he manages to keep his gig on the tv and radio, his comments seem limited to writing players or teams off or saying that they are fantastic. Relies on clichés and catch phrases - listen out for 'muppet' or 'my word'.
  18. Actually being at the game today I feel that I am able to add a more informed opinion on Robbo today than some. Coburg put a big focus on holding Robbo today(much more than Waite), a very strong and swirling wind blew throughout the game and the service he got was almost invariably lofted kicks that gave him little chance of having a big effect. Robbo spent much of the final quarter up from the goals making contests, one of which he almost cost him what would have been a pretty nasty head clash. There is the whiff of blood in the water around Robbo right now, but starting to write off his desire and bag him unfair on him and what he may still may be able to offer what will still be a very young list next year.
  19. We have a reputation for being a bunch of compliant, flaccid, go to the snow supporters. The acid we poured yesterday made the 'G sound like a ugly home crowd for the first time in a while and I am proud of that. Tough home crowds bag opposition players - those team's supporters who do this are those that teams hate playing. Are we ever going to become feared by sitting quietly while teams walk all over us or by getting into them and a bit of putting sh*t on them? Bock committed a disgusting act and we bagged him out for it. He deserved it. His footy club tried to look tough by suspending him indefinitely and then called it brave when they bought him back after one game - they deserved it too. They tried to have their cake and eat it to, we showed them they we know what they are up to and they cannot pretend it didn’t happen.
  20. Pretty sure that they traded him because of persistent injuries.
  21. Sorry for doubling up - it was not already there when I started!
  22. I reckon it would go alright with one of those lovely bomber jackets you see some people wearing. Particularly one of those special ones that has the big leather patches on the back that have 'Outer Wear' stitched into them. I have always wished I could get my hands on one of those. They are exclusive 'Outer Wear' editions after all, not just for anyone.
  23. Hanging for the news that we have a major sponsor for 09! Schwab seems to have the golden touch, he must have something cooking...
