  1. I want our players to be smarter than that. Anyway, let's hope nothing comes of it.....
  2. Not sure about that. Riv will probably now get a "please explain" or worse......commenting on a Tribunal decision.
  3. Some camera crews were there.....
  4. Lots not present today - See Ghosty's post above: Absentees: May, Petracca, Viney, Spargo, Turner, TMac, Adams, Campbell, Sparrow, Fullarton, Petty, Pickett, Sestan, Woewodin, AJ. Also no Hore, McAdam or AMW from the LTI (done for the season list). Billings, Bowey, Howes and Henderson all just ran laps rather than joining the soccer, and departed early. Woewodin took a heavy knock during the Casey game on Sunday - looked like ribs/concussion, or both. Max was comfortably nailing his "round the corner" shots. Look for them in a game if he marks close to goal. Injury update tonight.
  5. A simple question for the boys. The coach, in his press conference, was clearly angry with the first quarter effort on Saturday night and also referenced the even more anaemic effort in the first quarter against Gold Coast. Given that someone is accountable for those failures, which arguably costs us both games, who is it? The Senior Coach, the leadership group, the playing group generally, the Head of Football, the interim CEO or the prospective CEO (a bit of tongue in cheek re the last two....)?
  6. And Henderson also listed as injured - but not dealt with in the Tuesday injury report...drops it from a potential 17 to 15 AFL listed....
  7. Thanks Ghosty. Just the named 23 present today. No emergencies present (Howes, Campbell, Petty). I did see a soccer ball, but there was no game - they usually play a game in their recovery sessions. Mostly goal-kicking practice and Max was doing quite well with his "round the corner" shots from short range - less than 40 metres out. It will be interesting to see if he goes through with the change of technique the next time he is close - he may have been encouraged by the one he flushed on Sunday? That was too far out to try his new method. Trac's attempts were looking much better today.
  8. That would be 17 AFL listed players! The Sunday game means Casey should not lose any AFL listed due to carryover emergencies (and a Sunday AFL match next week). Surely we smash a decimated Carlton outfit....
  9. DC, remember we were told it was an external review and from it two new Committees were announced grandly in the Annual Report - High Performance and Member Engagement. How go those Committees?
  10. So we could be worse than 8,000 members down on this time last year......sheesh.
  11. Carlton has a plethora of tall forwards? They had to play TDK up forward last week because McKay is out - Voss rationailsing the move claiming that Pittonet is in "great form" and so shall play the main ruck role......
  12. Just to be clear Beasley only expected back mid-season. She wasn't playing in the intra-club....
  13. Bitter and Turner?
  14. Sunny, then cloudy day at Gosch's Paddock for the women's intra-club. A series of 7.5 minute stanzas. Our list of 32 (on the website) includes Aimee Mackin (knee) and Jacinta Hose (knee and back), who are now on the long-term injury list and won't feature this year, From the final list of 30, rehabbing today were Ryliegh Wotherspoon (a couple of weeks of away off a hamstring), Grace Beasley (to be back mid-season from her knee) Denby Taylor (short-term, ankle) and Gabby Colvin. Sinead Goldrick and Blaithin Mackin also not present today. So 24 having a run. Blues versus Reds, looked like A team of Blues mids and forwards against the Reds containing A team backs, with assistance from the Casey girls (presumably) - 16 per side. New draftees Molly O'Hehir (off half-back) and Maggie Mahony (midfield) both impressed and will be aiming for Round 1 selection. All the regulars were prominent, McNamara, Fitzsimon, Hore, Hanks, Zanker, Chaplin and the talls, Gall, Campbell and Harris all featuring. Great to see Loz Pearce playng at this stage of the season. A bit of a scare when Hanksy left the field (and did not return) which to me looked like a knee injury - others thought calf, or ankle. Limped off but was later doing run-throughs, presumably after knee checks, so hopefully only a short-term injury (with scans likely to follow). O'Hehir and Amelia Dethridge were given an early mark. Had to leave before the session finished but there was a good crowd in attendance, so I expect a few more comments here.
