Our senior list has definitely changed since the 2014 season....only 14 senior players from 2014 remain (plus Jetta, Mitch King and Harmes who were on the rookie list in 2014). We have seen 26 players depart the club in 4 years.

Dee wiz, we had a stinker of a list back then!

I think you will find that it was Max King on our list at that time and Mitch King was picked up in the 2015 draft.

Am I reading too much into the fact that Frost is listed as an 'out' in the teams listed for Casey's first final?

Is he injured? Or has he been told we won't be offering him a contract for next year and he'll be traded..

Sam Frost is not eligible to play for Casey in the finals.

Gee we have come so far...pathetic

The swans won the spoon in 1994 with 4 wins. They were 12th in 1995 and played in a grand Final in 1996.

    The Bulldogs were 15th in 12 and 13, 16th in 2014 and won a flag in 2016.

Don't give this bullshite that we are improving. This is not a game of incremental improvement in ladder position. Teams leap up the ladder frequently.

We are a laughing stock of a club where it doesn't hurt when we lose. We are comfortable with mediocrity. There needs to be a major statement from our inconsequential, unsighted president, our CEO and our two Captains about what we will accept as a club.

As for those players that don't stand up when it counts. they can [censored] off.

In part I agree with you but we need to careful that we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.  I believe that if this disappointment is used correctly then we can finish in the top 4 next year. In fairness to Nathan Jones he told the team in no uncertain terms what he thought of the pathetic first quarter.  Yes we need a statement from the club.

  4. While I am very disappointed,  and heartbroken, this is very interesting as we were 9 points from 8th and 23 points from finishing top. This is due to the following :

Lost to Fremantle by 2 points

Lost to Hawthorn by 3 points

Lost to North Melbourne by 4 points

Lost to North Melbourne by 14 points.

I think back to 2013 and we would have lost all those games by 100 points. This shows how far we have improved but how much more we need to improve.  The old saying so close but so far. We need to use this disappointment all summer and all next season.

  5. Good Morning All

Yesterday was a game that last year we would have lost by 5 goals, 2 years ago by 10 goals, and 3 years ago by 15 goals. This shows hor far we have come but there still is more work to be done. Hibberd, Melksham, and Lewis's experience were very good at calming things down. Lets complete the job by beating Collingwood and  make the finals for the first time in 11 years. CARN THE DEMONS.

  6. I saw Peter Jackson before the Sydney game and went over and shook his hand and thanked him for the great job he has done of turning around the mfc.  He appreciated it and thanked me for doing it. When we win our 13th premiership I will be thanking Glenn Barlett, Peter Jackson,  Paul Roos,  and Simon Goodwin for there great work. It is great to have a team that is competitive every week.

He and Christian Salam were speaking to members in the lindsay Hassett room. Simon Goodwin said in press conference that Watts and Garlett are chance next week. He also said that Hogan is getting closer.

  9. What a magnificent win and what a great leadership shown by Jack Viney.  The efforts of Cam Pedersen and Tom McDonald in the last quarter were magnificent.  Were back baby and bring on Friday night where I hope to celebrate my 59th birthday with a great win against Sydney. Bring on the big stage of Friday night football and lets get 70,000 at the mcg and make a big statement to the competition.  CARN THE DEMONS.

  10. This was the best team effort I have seen by Melbourne since 2006. A special thank you to Glenn Barlett, Peter Jackson, Paul Roos, Simon Goodwin,  and Macca for turning this club around and we now have a very competitive team. Macca is a great man as couple years he was speaking at the premium members lunch where I , and next week he saw me crossing the road from Richmond station and waited for me and then walked to mcg with me. Saty is right about how Macca is involved in the development of Oscar.  We are very lucky to have one of the best development coaches working with us. It is great to see us bullying the opposition and I am very excited about how far this team can develop.  CARN THE DEMONS.

3 years ago we would have lost this game by 100 points. We have come a long way but still have some work to do on developing the team.  I believe that Hawthorn having a big ruckman to aim at got them out of trouble .  I hope that Goody and the coaches use the review well so that we can learn from this defeat. Lets go over to Adelaide and have a good crack against the odds.
