Good luck to Sam going back to coaching and a small role at the club.

I don’t understand why the Casey job is going to be part time. Surely it’s too important not to be a full time person even if they split their time with more at AFL development level.

There has to be a strong connection with the AFL and VFL sides. We can’t go back to players doing one thing at Casey and another AFL level

Edit: Unless this means it’s a part time role moved in to someone else’s job portfolio. Ie. Someone with more afl experience

Probably due to the reduced soft cap. I suspect that your  last statement will prove to be correct.  The reduced soft cap forces difficult choices.

Jay Clark responding to a question.

What is the latest about Ben Brown and Issac Smith joining Melbourne?

A: I think the Dees are busy behind the scenes and could bring in both of those guys if Tom McDonald leaves. They need his money out. GWS interested in McDonald. Melbourne has presented to Smith and offered a three year deal and is slightly ahead of the Bombers for Brown. Maybe on about $550-$650k.

I asked Jay Clark that question.

    They rate themselves, don’t they?

since we run a zone defense with May closer to goal and Lever next out, I dint think it is as simple as who takes who.  Bruce is a big sook.  If we keep him quiet early he will stay that way.  They bat one deeper in the midfield?  As I understand it, you only have a fixed number there at centre bounces...

anyhoo, let’s see how it pans out.  Anyone remember when we shellacked them at the Western oval to make the finals?

Yes, I do and I was there. It was a great day.

Perhaps one of the stupidest things I've read on this site.

I paid for 2 memberships. Mine alone is about $700.

For the first time in my adult life I will have no work after Easter, my missus' job the same. No income for my family for about 4 months. My employer has said to expect it to be up to 6 months, and they do not qualify for jobkeeper, according to the % drop in turnover rule.

While there are plenty of others doing it harder than us, that membership money would keep us going for a few weeks.

I will not be asking for a return, however I absolutely understand any member who does due to sudden hardship.

Cheap stereotyping from club 'supporters' is the last thing anyone who is doing it tough needs atm

I wish you and your family all the best for the next few months.

  5. The NRL and A-League are elite sports, and once more you can represent Australia against other countries. Rugby league and soccer are played worldwide and not just in small part of Australia.

I do not think that the facilities are totally to blame for the dees and rebels problems.

  6. The facilities at AAMI Park are fine, as one of Australia's most successful football teams the Melbourne Storm use the same facilities. Also Melbourne Victory use the same facilities, and they have been very successful as well. We already have our own team in the VFL as we control the Casey Demons.
