  1. good pick-up red and blue boy! ...but here's another interpretation... "2009 is behind us and Davey has the ball!
  2. 1 Scully 2 Trengove 11 Black 18 Tahlia/Griffiths 34 Ball/Patrick 50 Temel
  3. My mail is we will take Griffiths at 11 if Melksham has already been taken, otherwise at 18
  4. I'm going to try this again on this thread rather than starting a new one... Is it possible to place NEWTON on the rookie list?
  5. Is it possible to place NEWTON on the rookie list?
  6. Jamar could climb into the top six ruckmen in the comp in 2010. It all depends on having an injury free run. He got himself fit toward the end of 2009, impressing with increased flexibility and speed. Jamar has always been a good mark and more than average kick. He is one of those rare (for us) big men who looks at home drifting deep into the forward fifty for a contested mark. The other desirable attribute is that Mark is physically aggressive. He is quite comfortable in the confrontation, won't back down... could be the defender of the likes of Davey and the young guns around the stoppages!
  7. He will be the second/third ruckman and versatile key position move. Lets face it, he sucked in the ruck when he first went in - knew nothing about positioning etc. However, by the final rounds, he was proving quite effective in the role. He has a huge upside, great leap, fast and agile (basketball stuff). He is suprisingly good by hand with effective LONG handball. His snap kicks around the body were fantastic. We're on a winner here!
  8. Valenti is good value. Gets in the right positions, works hard, good defensively, good foot skills, can kick a goal, good bloke. Just not a game-breaker or an 'A' grader. We are fishing for exactly that. We may fail. We have to try!
  9. Buckley, if fit, has a lot to like; blistering speed, long kick, courageous, good size, nice bloke. Buckley is not fit... may never be. Good luck mate!
  10. Just want to reiterate that he is not looking lean at the moment
  11. Wonna turned up looking heavier than at this time last year. The first task is to get him in shape again. Its a fine line between pushing too hard and looking half-hearted for Aussie. Time will tell. He certainly has goal kicking, assists, and defensive pressure skills that we need come round 1.
  12. Agree... Can't believe the criticism/lack of support from MFC fans. Rarely beaten, plays his role as well as any. Only issues have been due to injury. This is disappointing but no reason to be blind to his obvious value when on the park, which he managed to achieve for the greater part of 2009. Puts his body on the line, doesn't get pushed around, and at an age where he can have a positive influence on the younger players around him.
  13. Cheney is strong over the ball, he is strong in the air for his size, he gets in good positions, he is determined, he links well by foot, he's not easily pushed aside in one on one's. He is also improving at a rate that pleases the coach. Cheney is a young man who has already shown himself to be a safer defender than some who have been on the list for a number of years. Not as fast as others, but I think he deserves his place on the list.
  14. Brock was never a guy to kick a goal from over 50 m out, unless it bounced a few times! His main problem at the moment is a severe lack of pace. He is still able to kick a goal from close range stoppages, and he can still get the ball out by hand from the centre. If the lack of pace is injury driven and able to be sorted, he is a keep. If he can only play at 2009 standard for the rest of his career then he is ripe for a trade. The coach should have a fair idea.
  15. FB: L Fowler, S Wight, A Ingerson HB: B Green, G Hardeman, S Febey C: S Alves, H Mann, R Flower HF: G Lyon, D. Schwarz, A. Davey FF: A Jakovitch, D. Neitz, J. Farmer FOLL: J. Stynes, R Barassi, G Wells INT: P Moore, A. Yze, C Bruce J McDonald EMERG B Dixon R Robertson G Parke
  16. Yeah, The emergencies are all gone! Valenti, Martin and McNamara... If you get dropped in round 22 you are not valued... It's clear to me... Maybe, these guys are already marked as required in 2010. I reckon they all showed plenty v Carlton. Just maybe, the the coach and support team can see what we see. So why the FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFK does anyone think that Valenti isn't a required player????????
  17. Haven't posted for a while but I like this one. 1 Davey 2 Jurrah 3 Morton 4 Grimes 5 Green 6 Martin 7 Watts 8 Sylvia 9 Petterd 10 Garland
  18. Jarka, thanks for getting my mind off the cricket! Since Robbie, to me, means post 87. 3 votes = Viney 2 = McDonald 1= Bruce
  19. It wasn't Kennedy... he baracks for Essendon. Umpire 15 was atrocious... the best evidence that umpires bet on games or are bribed that I can offer this week. His lack of common nouse was astounding. He reported Davey after several WC players got stuck into him as he was trying to get back to the centre after we caughed up a goal to his direct opponent. The message thay were trying to send (on Worsfold's orders) was "how do you like that weasal, your opponent just kicked one" etc. etc. However, umpire 15's understanding of the game caused him to deduce that Davey was trying to take someone out because he is a sniper who looks for trouble at every opportunity. For ***** sake!!!! YOU HAVE A PROFESSION AS AN ADJUDICATOR!!!! Try a little harder to read the situation and you might find that supporters actually respect you.
