  1. What... that's shocking! get a membership!!
  2. No need for apologies. I think most understood it as wishful positivity !!
  3. Yeah agreed. What does he have to gain by a flat out refusal. If anything would look stupid backtracking if we did indeed have interest a few days later.
  4. Hahaha.. so true. GWS probably a goal away from a flag... Dees can't qualify for finals!! i must say though, I think the few senior additions (if made) this trade period will make a huge difference to the club. would be much more confident of cracking finals with a more balanced team. It will be much harder to crack a game with the fringe players (m.jones, stretch, bugg, vanders etc) likely to see some serious VFL time
  5. Couldn't agree more http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-17/trade-winds-lewis-set-for-demons-move.mobileapp

  7. I think most of us are just so wanting to believe it's easy to get carried away. if it eventuates (JL/TR and MH) I'd be wrapped... especially if we manage to keep our 1st rounder 2017. But even so... I'd be happy to pursue success in 2017 with another compromised draft. If we pull of these trades it shows what can be done when you have all the cylinders firing. Chickens not counted by any stretch
  8. So true. im also enthused and guilty as charged
  9. Spot on. We need a few players who have been there done that and am capable (sorry HL, CD). Not 100% on bringing in tomR but welcome the FD decision. Have been great the last 3 years
  10. Fair point. I for one am sick of not being a destination club. #change
  11. Thank you. Just trawling endlessly through a trail of Mitchell blah blah
  12. 100%. Most including myself was uncomfortable with the early melksham trade- but the FD quickly moved to improve our standing. Some on here blew up I think weiderman could be a great player if he develops as is expected. Oliver likewise.
  13. A second rounder and a guy that can't get a gig in our 1st grade... cant see how this plays out. Hope so though!
  14. Fair enough. Not free agency but smart trading. Its difficult to get those players to come in unless your successful though. no 'leg up' - just smart trading and on field success.
  15. The Hawks/Geelong/Collingwood etc are commonly nominated by players as their 'preferred club'. Surely you'd agree to that?
  16. I agree with this whole heartedly!!...there's various motivating factors in play and some appeal more to others. These factors have definitely been addressed and I hope it continues. looking forward not back!
  17. Hey I'd love to get earlier picks but you have to either give up players (with actual currency), future picks or d o some creative accounting with an academy club (who want and need the points)... so what do you suggest?
  18. I think most people would agree that Geelong and the Hawks have had an incredible benefit under free agency. The number of players they've gained far outweighs the loss of 1 player. Mitchell hasn't gone yet plus I think players like ablet and buddy probably left to get out of the media fishbowl-(plus buddy's partner in Sydney) so you can understand that.
  19. Can't see Essendon doing much either. Good too. cant wait to see the development in our younger players. Hunt, Track, Oliver, Bradshaw and Kent excite... and the backs Omac and Wagner need much improvement. feel we need a small forward who can rip a game apart.
