  1. Yeah I understand. Its the honourable losses thing i hate. To be completely honest, i've lost all interest in the club this year. Im just half expecting these kind of losses now with the inaccuracy and the same usual suspects on high money dishing up the same sub par performances each and every week. Another year wasted and no finals appearance/wins in September. We dont stand for anything as a club and yet still no closer to knowing what's happening with our home base. I'll continue to check results here and there watch it when I can but the emotional attachment of my team losing is not there anymore. I just shrug the shoulders and move on. Taking my 5 year old to his first AFL game next week and will make sure he has the greatest experience he can. Gotta somehow keep the spirits up for the next generation of supporters coming through.
  2. Maybe less time dancing and prancing around pre game in front of the MFC socials and more time focussing in actually contributing out on the field. I have been defending this bloke this year but so far on the value we coughed up for him its been a major disappointment. I'll give him the benefit of doubt because of the injury, but hes looking like a sub VFL.standard player. I was all for getting games into him, but that was with hope that he would start to show incline progression not the other way around.
  3. Well battled. Effort was there.
  4. Maybe the optimism and gut feeling in me think this will be much closer then some actually think.
  5. Did Kalani play down back? I saw there were no hitout so I presume they played him down in defence.
  6. Hoping to see more glimpses from our young players. Jefferson, JVR, Kolt, Langford, Bowey, McVee and Lindsay. These guys are the future now and I hope thr likes of Jefferson and Kolt can really start to showcase their talent and show why we took them early. Not only that, its time they start locking down a permanent position in our best 22.
  7. Pies are humming. Unfortunately they're bloody good to watch.
  8. Lever playing loose is the reason he was dropped and why its cost us goals. Spent majority of the game against Port guarding grass and being next to ineffective the whole time. Clubs have worked him out fairly easily and if you can get him body on body he gets beaten easily. Hes become more of a liability as the season goes on. I'd be throwing him up as trade bait at the end of the year.
  9. I'll be ropeable if he is dropped this week. Kid needs continuity and experience. We are out of finals, so get as much game time as possible into Kolt, Jefferson, JVR, Windsor etc and just plan for next year.
  10. Personally I think we have chopped and changed enough assistant coaches over time. Unlike others, I dont point the finger purely on Jones for our midfield woes. Its pretty much the exact issue and concern as it was last year and even 2023 as well. McQualter and Yze need to cop some of the brunt as I dont believe the finger should be pointed at Jones alone. He needs time and im happy to bide him some of that. I would have Tim Lamb in the gun ahead of Jones for instance. List management strategy has been woeful the past couple of years.
  11. Goodwin butchered 2022. Played the same best 22 for weeks on end and refused to change up the team or rest players when the opportunity was there to do so. His management of the team that year was incredibly poor and it bit him in the [censored] in the end. That's on him. 2023 as you say we were cruelled by injuries at the wrong time of the year which I dont blame him for. His selection and coaching during the finals was utterly bizarre though. Dropping an experienced Hibberd for the Carlton final and using a 200cm Josh Schache as the sub, to then not play him him..... Still doesn't make sense to this day. 2024 was a combination off field distractions and noise which i think just got too much for the club as a whole. Again, I dont put that down purely to Goodwins fault. 2025 is aimed 100% at Goodwin. 0-5 start, forward entries issues, selection integrity, fully fit list that still can't capitalise on the mix between experience and young talent. He'll stay to 2026 even thoughI personally want him gone, but if he starts next year poorly, then he doesn't see the season out at all.
  12. On limited exposure how did he look?
  13. Bradke also played footy as a teenager and he was useless. My hope that being a key defender, this Berry guy turns out similar to Mark Keane from the Crows.
  14. No big loss. Just another Osker Baker/Rohan Bail type who can run but is an absolute butcher by trade with his foot skills. Folks melting over him is priceless.
  15. 18 months ago I would have said Lever, but his body is cooked and he doesn't have the on field performance and influence like he previously had. He'll be lucky to hold his spot next year alone. Petracca may be next in line but whether he's willing to stick with the club for a bit is another question. As a leader, you've gotta not only be able to influence off the field but also on field performance on a week to week basis. Having that presence in being able to influence games in big moments where teammates are inspired to follow. This is why guys like Garry Lyon, David Neitz, Nathan Jones and Max Gawn were so good at it. Chandler and Sparrow are no where that calibre and never will be. They are far too inconsistent and rarely impact games enough on a weekly level. One name to keep an eye on for the future is Xavier Lindsay. Highly rated at Gippsland Power for his leadership and maturity. I do know for a fact staff and players at the club have been really impressed with the way he has conducted himself on and off the field.
  16. Duursma is just a half forward version of Cale Morton. Yuk.
  17. They've both just kicked a goal.
  18. Curtin looks like an absolute gun.
  19. Jury is still out with both.
