PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Petty can come back through the reserves. Our talls were all serviceable and May would be next in line to get a call up potentially of the expense of Lever.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
A great day spent at the footy. My 5 year old first ever AFL game and boy did he love it! It was pretty swirly and thought we converted well considering the conditions. It was a scrappy game but when we were challenged in the 3rd quarter we rode the bump and found another gear. Besides the scrappy disposal Petracca showed some of his old bursts from stoppages. He was strong and really tried to generate a lot of forward entries. Tmac was close to BOG for me. Please dont drop him Goody.. Fritta and Rivers were good i thought. Melksham will sign a new contract, mark my words! I am hoping Tmac is the same. Langford will be a beauty! Jefferson will be fine. As I said after the Adelaide game, you just have to load him up with games and experience. Could have easily had 3 goals for the day. For a guy of his size, he certainly doesn't mind crashing the packs and bring the ball to ground. Loved JVR's game as well! Let's just leave both he and Jeffo in for the rest of the year. And Xerri is a dirty thug, enjoy your holiday you [censored]

Jefferson definitely crashing the packs. Competing well. Petraccas disposal is absolutely woeful. Didn't see Melksham go off? Is it serious?

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Werribee
Forgot about Noah Yze. Hes definitely improved a lot in the 12 months. Hes definitely got the sticky hands and I think he's well deserved of a rookie list spot. There is something to work with on Yze and I believe coming back as a overage player for Oakleigh Chargers and doing a pre season with the Dees has really helped his development. He looked solid last night and probably unlucky not to kick 4 considering they were relatively easy shots. We could have an off season where a Yze and White join the Dees!

Lever. I like the combination of May and Turner now. Lever is becoming far too much of a liability in our back 6 imo.

Good signs with some of our up and coming young players. Mentha - great game, hit the scoreboard, ran hard and carried the footy when needed. Give him a full preseason working hard in the off season alongside Kozzie and I have no doubt he can play senior footy next year. Kentfield - This guy is a brute. When he took that pack mark he literally left three Werribee players on the ground in pain. The huge upside with him is that he hasnt completed a AFL pre season to date. There is something definitely to work with here. Crazy that he's still only 19. I see a bit of Josh Treacy about him. Culley - Liked his work, spent time inside and out and he was pretty classy and had poise as well. Howes - Last time he plays VFL this year. He was a clear BOG. Adams - Ready for AFL action. Just give him a chance Goody. Verrall - He plays much better when hes the main number 1 ruckman. My only issues with him is he doesn't take marks around the ground. I think for him to step up, this is something he needs to do more around the ground. Other then that he was good tonight.

Judd McVee contract
They can request out all they want. The club won't be letting them go.

Judd McVee contract
Rivers ans JVR are both contracted. Woey and Laurie are fringes and would be no loss whatsoever. For some unknown reason Goodwin clearly doesnt rate Laurie. I think Woewodin is most likely a delisted at the end of the year. The hope for their own sake is they get opportunities elsewhere, but i highly doubt it.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Yeah nah. Last night West Coast initially omitted 3 players last night in Tim Kelly, Bo Allan and Sandy Brock. As of 5pm tonight after teams were finalised they omitted a fourth player in Jack Williams who was already named on the extended bench. So they ended up dropping an extra player after initial making the three omissions last night. This literally goes against your argument. My point is you can make as many changes you want from your extended bench on Sunday games. Just because one player gets omitted doesn't mean you can't make further omissions. Teams dont fully get finalised until friday afternoon.

I dont mind that Jefferson stays in. Was hoping for Campbell and Howes though. Tholstrup is bloody lucky.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
No they dont... They can still omit players from the extended bench when the final teams get released on a 5pm Friday. This has been a thing for many years.. how have you not picked up on this?

Time to scrutinise Alan Richardson
You are 100% spot on Laze.. I tend to go back to when he was happy to show the door for Jack Watts and Jesse Hogan for instance but yet had a different stance on the likes of Petracca, Oliver and Petty. Back then I think we actually respected his willingness to change the club culture as both Hogan and Watts were much loved players within the playing group and supporters. We had opportunities to reshape our list with the likes of Oliver and Petty trade for instance but that didn't eventuate My feel is that hes gotten way too comfortable with the players and that in itself can be a messy line to cross.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
He can still be omitted, final team selections aren't made official until 5pm today. Blake Howes or Caleb Windsor would be one of the ins for Sharp and then weather they decide to make any more changes from there then who knows.

I reckon Campbell plays. Could be for Jefferson, unless they drop Tholstrup and still play the 3 talls.

"Love" didn't buy us a flag mate. A well structured and disciplined team was what got us a flag. And this whole 'oh but but we won a flag!' Commentary just needs to simply stop. Stop living in the past. Not only was that 4 years ago that happened, but we have achieved absolutely nothing since. There have been changes to our playing list, football department and opposition teams have easily worked us out. The game has completely changed and shifted away from the contested bull at the gate style which made us so successful back in 2021 and our contested mids have been exposed because of it.
