Supporters (some of them anyway) have been saying this for the last decade. Its now the end of 2017 and we are still, STILL losing games we should win. And its not an abberation, it happens more often than not. Its mental. Plain and simple. Call it desire. Or toughness. Whatever. We just dont have it. And its not good enough.

Remove one O.Mcdonald and B.Vince, add the other Mcdonald brother up forward, explain to Hunt that he has options and add a Jake Lever and we are looking a hell of a lot better.

Is Omac really getting better? Well 'better' at a rate that is acceptable. That dinky kick from him in the 3rd directly to the opposition was the exact moment my wife and I left yesterday. It was inexcusable. I dont want to single out individual players, but he exemplifies the standard we set. Its not good enough. Hibbo had a shocker yesterday, but he should be the bech mark for our defense. Him and Jetta are really the only ones that can say they had a consistent year.

We improved, but boy we let that slip away. Leadership is a big issue and mental toughness just as big. Those loses to North were really inexcusable and cost us more than anything. After that hour long train ride home from the G, sitting with the other regular demon faithful who once again can not believe what they saw, I promised myself I would get angry over this team anymore this season. We looked tired and dis-interested from the GET GO. So many players not running hard and laying limp wristed tackles. These are not things that are available to the Dangers and Dustys of the AFL. These should non negotiables for EVERY player. I know your tired, but so is the hundreds of others in the league. Run till you cant run anymore. Put your body on the line. Do whatever it takes. Nope. Not Melbourne. The Pies spread and ran hard in that first half. They took it on and marked strongly. They had very little to play for. We got caught up in congestion and played the same old "handball to team mate who is in worse position that you" that we have been doing for years.With EVERYTHING on the line we served up a weak, tired, disinterested brand of footy. I could see it. The guy next to me could see it. But it seems none of the players wanted to see it - or chose not to do anything about it. Im over it.

If by some miracle we do win, then you can call me out. Believe me, its a million times harder watching it live when you see the efforts of those off screen.
