A bit annoyed this game is on at 5 in the afternoon. Was looking forward to a friday night watching the game, guess I will have to record it and ignore all news outlets until I watch it.
-
I don't think you will find anyone saying don't drop him if he isn't up to standard, and good on Goodwin for doing so. The only concern is with the message to the public and affect that has on Jack and on the club. Do we really want a whole lot more eyes on a young team and build the pressure up further? I certainly wouldn't, I would be keeping everything as pressure free (from the outside) as I could to help the young team develop and then face the pressure. Yes the pressure will be on Jack, but it will rub off with extra media scrutiny, that may not be a good thing.
-
So the heat would maybe have come on this week, not last, and would have built massively after the next game if he doesn't play. Fact is the club could have done a damn site better in burying it.
-
Yet a whole raft of big name players don't play in the first, and sometimes second JLT game for exactly the reason that they are trialing kids and different set ups etc. No one bats an eyelid at that, the only reason this would be different is the whispers coming from somewhere within the club.
-
It would not have silenced them but it would have doused a lot of the flames and certainly not added fuel to the fire.
-
The issue for mine isn't around he not playing, that is up to the club. The issue is how they have handled it publically, they came out too late to put an end to it and have said too much. A simple answer along the lines of 'we are trying a few different set ups etc etc' would have shut the media up very quickly. Instead they have fanned the flames. That has put Jack under even greater pressure and that may backfire spectacularly, we will have to wait and see, it also could do wonders but I am leaning more to the former if the past is any indication of the future.

I think Watts is terrific, just great, the best. I think he has been training well, better than anyone, Goodwin doesn't know, he tells lies, all lies. Goodwin tells so many lies he makes Hillary look honest, so dishonest, not like Watts, Watts is honest, hes more honest than anyone, almost more honest than me. Now it seems some people have been saying some bad things about Watts, all lies, fake, fake news. The forums get all the facts, not the fake facts, the real ones, they take these facts and make fake news, all fake, even Demonland had a topic about Watts that wasn't about Watts, see fake, liars at Demonland, how can you have a topic about Watts without it being about Watts, that is what these forums do, all lies, alternative facts.....disgusting.

One thing I have noticed is that he seems to handball the ball from anywhere, as in it isn't always from his hand. If you watch in teh clearances he will sort of gather but int he same motion hit the ball forward. There was one I watched the other day (can't remember which game, may have been a replay of the Hawks game last year) where he tucked the ball under his arm to run, was about to be tackled so handballed the ball from tucked under his arm. Of course it went straight to the player intended and off we went. This isn't a skill I have noticed before. His usually has a pretty soft touch on the ball to and just puts it to clear advantage of a team mate. Must be nice being on the end of them.

So the journo was right, the Bont was taken 2 picks behind Petracca, they just forgot it was 2 picks behind and 12 months before Petracca.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS

But but but this will only make him look a martyr and the innocent party, surely that is what the public will think. If I put more mumbles and drunken slurs I can really heard Robbo saying that. -

As long as there is a record of what it was, and they have cleared it with ASADA then we don't need to know what it was Saty. -

I read it very much as an attack/investigation on ASADA. Good luck with that one. The AFL on the other hand, bunch of incompetent fools. -

And then the idiot goes on to claim he is doing everything for the well being of the players! Wouldn't knowing what actually happened be number 1 of the list of things you would do if you were interested int eh well being of the players. Not to mention that this is 6 months after the story broke and they still haven't started to work out what is going on. Just confirms again that they really don't care for the players and were in it for themselves from day 1. -
Had similar thoughts about the ski resorts but chances are they don't have enough money to be spending the dollars this would take. Of all the tourist places in vic the penguins would be the richest and even then I doubt they have enough money.

AHG have a land Rover dealership as part of their group so it could work. It may well annoy the other dealers in their group though who aren't land Rover.

We best ask Clint Bizkit.
-
In the garage or as a sponsor
-
They do have money, and do love to put their name on everything, but I am not sure how they go with being a non-naming sponsor. I can't think of them as a minor sponsor, they tens to own teams or competitions. Gatorade and Coke may have something to say as current sponsors as well, but if red bull cough up enough cash then you can bugger the other two off.
-
So is Clint's Biscuits in or out?
-
And a seriously big market, even in just Melbourne!

I saw a link the other day, can't remember if it was facebook or email, but it was for a sponsorship survey from the club. It asked the typical questions around which sponsors you have used in the last year, if you planning on using them in future, are you going to buy a car etc etc etc. This was all very boring but the last question raised some interest in me for a few reasons. It was 'who would you like to see as a sponsor of the club'. I am hoping they aren't asking because they are out of ideas and are asking so they can put a case together for a potential sponsor. Although if I was a potential sponsor and the club came and said the fans want it then I may well think they are already on board and therefore there is no reason for the sponsorship. Any way I am interested in the answers that would come from this forum to this question. My answer was Range Rover. We have traditionally received a ribbing from everyone because we all apparently drive Range Rovers so the brand link is there and we may as well own it, this would also get lots of comedic air time and therefore great publicity for both brands. Both Range Rover and our club are re-emerging good quality premium brands after years in the wilderness being unreliable crap so why not go on the ride together. AHG may have an issue but I think they have Jag/Range Rover dealerships in their network so it could actually be a win win for them.

From memory we played pretty strong teams in the pre-season last year as well as Roos thought we needed to understand winning and how to do it, not to mention getting the supporters off their back a bit. I think we may finally have some real depth now where the bottom 6 or spots on the list can be filled by a dozen or more blokes. That will help with resting players throughout the year which may keep the fatigue more at bay.

They talk about covering the train lines every year or two, and Eddie gets on the bandwagon as well as he will Want Collingwood as close as possible, but this is the perfect space for our base. It is next to the MCG, we could either move the admin into the new building or stay in the G, we could build a small stand including gyms etc, and it is in a highly visible space for advertising etc.
