  1. Mustn't have been watched hard to not see Hannah, he was great.
  2. It was about three inches above his hand. If you pay that on a technicality then 100 frees would be paid a quarter
  3. Hahahahaha, was waiting for the negative on Tyson. He was the ONLY mid making any difference at all in the first half and was very good in the second half. Yes a couple of his kicks didn't end up where hoped but they were quick kicks out of congestion. Glad to see you didn't disappoint with your bias on him!
  4. Hibberd one in the middle was a handpass, clear as day.
  5. Must remeAmber to listen to the radio next time. BT drives me nuts and Tim Watson is a disrespectful cheat apologist dick!
  6. No sign of Joyboys 3 word analysis yet. Probably working out how to be negative about Tyson, which would be very hard to do today.
  7. If joeboy pays out on Tyson this week he has lost the plot. Is the only midfielder having any affect at all
  8. Going to court would take action from a player or the club, neither probably want the real answer. The AFL and ASADA are powerless to get him to talk.
  9. And Rita Panhani (sorry if spelling is wrong). As Rita doesn't bow to the AFL due to not having an accreditation hanging over her head she seems to be able to cut through the crap and tell it how it is.
  10. May well be, but his first question may well be for Essendon to show what they actually gave him, the answer to that would be interesting, especially if a few key people end up under oath!
  11. I think this is a massive part of our issues (being inconsistency, challenges of weather, and when the pressure is applied back). Over pretty much the entirety of Roos' time we saw the team get better as aspects of the game from season to season. Last year they showed big glimpses of the whole game plan. This year they have shown this for much of each game but look to be really trying to play a certain way. If you watch the Geelong of old and Hawthorn of the last few years they don't look to be trying, they are just doing what they know they do. I remember Geelong in around 09 used to just blind handball out of congestion and it seemed to land in a team mates lap time and time again, it was unbelievable to watch. If we stick to learning this then we will get to this point, and are showing this in parts this year. Once we get to that point then it is automatic and easier to think about slight changes due to weather etc, at the moment I think the brain power is being used trying to play the way we want to and adding in variations is too much at times. To those who will say they can learn a game plan in one off season, yes you can if you have a solid base to work from. Our team essentially had no game plan or base as it went from all out attack under Bailey, to all out defence under Neeld, with bits of interim coaches in the middle. Even the senior players didn't have a solid base of a game plan to work from when Roos took over, which is why it has taken longer to learn as it isn't just the kids learning from the older players, it is the whole team learning as one, and I think they are just about there!
  12. I know that feeling, not from a depression point of view but from a chronic illness point of view, I have Menieres disease, an illness that leaves me exhausted most of the time and at constant risk of an attack, which are completely debilitating and while going are said to lower your quality of life to that of someone close to death from cancer (luckily for me my attacks generally last multiple hours and not days like some unlucky people get), that's not to mention the brain fog that comes and goes but can make simple things very confusing and difficult to do, and the constant ringing in my ears that is sometimes so loud it keeps me awake at night. Depression and anxiety are common among Menieres sufferers but is something I have dodged to date, thankfully. Best of luck to you getting through.
  13. Contrary to popular belief, going through mental illness actually usually takes a serious amount of mental strength. The state of mind of someone with a mental illness can however be very fragile, that shouldn't be mistaken for weakness. I think you understand this but just wanted to point it out, certainly with no accusation to you though, this just seemed a good place to put this. To put it in a physical sense having a mental illness (which I haven't had but have people close to me who have) is like you are carrying around a 50kg sack all day while most of the rest of the population carry around 25kg. If you add something to the situation of everyone (such as a death of someone, or terrorist attack, or even something seemingly small) which adds 5kg to everyone's sack then the people carrying 50kg are going to struggle while the others don't. If you then add more weight the people carrying 50kg may break and be seen as weak even though they are actually carrying more than everyone else, and many people wouldn't even get to the 50kg stage before breaking. Living with a chronic illness is similar, there is a background amount of effort required that others don't have to deal with and little things to everyone else can be massive things due to that background weight. Sorry for the ramble but I think respectful conversations on topics like this are great for bringing more understanding.
  14. I was going to make a similar point about metal illness not being due to mental weakness but didn't want to start another sh!tstorm like we had with Mitch.
  15. Agreed. I was being generous with my time allocations but the process is what you are talking about being done before they are even there. Even doing a second check of all decisions after the plain landed they are left with a lot of time unaccounted for!
  16. From what I heard this morning the Vic SOG group where there within 20 minutes of the call (I assume the call was made before the plain landed but who knows). A response time of 20 minutes out to the airport isn't too bad really. If that is from when the call came in from the plain then I would think they would have been there about 10 minutes after the plain landed. That means there is another 80 minutes to account for. Take10 minutes for a situation analysis by the SOG and planning (questions like is the bloke armed, is he restrained, what does the 'bomb' look like etc) from the 80 minutes, some more time for nullifying any risks (such as triggered doors etc that I mentioned earlier), this might be another 10 minutes by the time the crew of the plain check doors etc, and there are still another missing 60 minutes! What the hell were they doing for this hour!
  17. I may well be wrong, but I would be surprised if each airport had an entire SOG group on stand by 24/7.
  18. Yes but the SOG group were state as each airport doesn't have an AFP SOG group.
  19. I wondered if the delay had anything to do with assessing risks, such as pressure decrease from opening the door setting off explosives, or making sure doors weren't set to set a bomb off if opened. A quote from one cop seems this played a role in the delay, but 90 minutes, seriously long time to leave people in limbo.
  20. Who is to say the Weid won't take on that role once he gets a bit more size and confidence. Just to look at I would pick him in the ruck everyday over Watts. Problem is he doesn't have the tank or strength yet.
  21. In: Hogan and Salem (both auto inclusions when available. Out: (Bugg or Watts*) and Wagner. (Hogan replaces (Bugg or Watts*) in the forward line and Salem replaces Wagner in the backline). Tmac and Pedo to ruck with Tmac resting back and Pedo resting where needed. *Watts only out if his groin doesn't come good.
  22. My thoughts on the game. The first 2.5 quarters were not as bad as described here. We did have problems though. These were clear as day for anyone watching. The key ones were that we could not convert out chances and inside 50's. We continually bombed it in on the heads of the forwards and their height dominated. We did hold it in our forward half for long periods though and from memory dominated the inside 50's. This was compounded by Gold Coasts ease of scoring when they did get it out of the zone. They pretty much waltzed down the other end and scored once they got it through. In short they took every opportunity they were presented with and we didn't take many at all, hence the score line. Except for our lack of forward potency we did actually play OK though, not brilliant but OK. The last 1.5 quarters looked vastly different but really wasn't that different. Our pressure was much the same but we started to take our opportunities, they also took about the same number as for the rest of the game. The difference was simply our ball movement, where would turn it over and work slowly to the inside 50 we started hitting targets, moving quickly and decisively into the 50 which gave our forwards and chance and they took it. We locked it in just as much as in the first half, it was just there less time as it went through for a goal instead of working hard to watch them eventually get it and score themselves. An interesting little thing I noticed during the game was that the suns in each quarter in terms of scoring shots had 9,5,3,and 5 for a return in goals of 4,3,2,and 4 (22 scoring shots and 13 goals from 40 inside 50's). No great slump really evident from them in scoring (although it looked it on the screen). On the other hand we had 3,9,6,and 14 scoring shots for a return of 2,2,5,and 9 goals (32 scoring shots and 18 goals from 71 inside 50's). All this seems completely at odds with what we saw though as the suns seem to completely drop their bundle in the last, although they still kicked 4 goals!
  23. Yes they may well do so, but they still pay the tax (up until the can get credits not to, or knowing the government they would pay it, then get it back in grants, minus hundreds of thousands of dollars for admin fees to do so).
  24. State governments pay GST to the feds, that is a tax!
