  1. The setting is a hospital ward, so I'm hoping it's just some sort of facilities or staffing improvement. 'Bad' news always seems to be delivered in 'open' settings (so they can run if necessary?....)
  2. I wondered what the story was; I hadn't seen enough (I'm often forced to be a highlights / sometimes replays watcher) and thought there might be some management for Michael being required? And it coincidentally seemed Bowey was 'knocking the door down' for a tryout, and he seems to have made himself hard to drop (which is nice!) I agree re finals - though who goes out?!
  3. After all the silly media, it's a great listen, 'Landers. Not the 'all-about-me' projected by the media; indeed, quite the opposite, it seems. 'Genuine' does seem to be the word, BDA. I love the connection to Daisy, and to Mick; I feel like 2021/22 is going to be like 1987 for the boys, Robbie and Swooper, but with the ultimate better ending! It's scary that she knows what affected her in recent seasons and has since made effective, relevant life changes. And she's doing skill sessions for the first time!
  4. (...and looking like you're itching to get another discombobulator out there, d? Got Neil Crompton's to untangle first though!)
  5. What's he thinking?... Goodwin in the 'Art of Coaching'(!) video, talking about getting opportunities: "You've got to finish top four...pause...top five" and shortly after talks about admiration for Longmire, the Swans and their quickly progressing youth. But I'm in the '2-and-1-and-possibly-3-and-0' camp, so that's just a curiosity. I hope.
  6. Just regarding swinging elbows, two words: Hawkins May
  7. p.s. I did wonder, and it turned out to be the case: James Harmes wore a double black armband today. Nice.
  8. JL and RDB (No.2 and everybody's (but yours Bim?) No.1) for me as a kid. But, more importantly, 'snap' to your 2nd sentence!?‍?
  9. I was thinking if capacity was about separation (rather than just 'traceability'(?) as it stupidly seems to be atm, with everyone bunched together in one area of the ground) then a 25% limit, say, at the 'G should mean a 25% limit at KP.
  10. (Got to get there first, but...) If there is a % crowd limit for the 'G then (unless there is a Ring Of Steel the 'G is inside and KP is outside) the same % limit would apply to KP. So KP wouldn't/couldn't 'outcapacity' the 'G.
  11. ✔ to the sentiments above. Some government/AFL hearts in mouths with Suns coming into the State? (To a lesser extent Dons and Swans, too?) Also, I hope a 'they'll be rattled' attitude doesn't seep into our squad? And I wonder if they get to go home tonight or must 'hotel' to meet WA requirements next week...
  12. I'd rather be 'predicting' Melbourne wins...
  13. Mind you, keep an eye on Queensland COVID. 'Home' game conditions: Saturday 31 July Summary http://www.bom.gov.au/images/symbols/large/showers.png Min 10 Max 19 Showers increasing. Possible rainfall: 6 to 10 mm Chance of any rain: 80% http://www.bom.gov.au/images/ui/weather/rain_80.gif Melbourne area Partly cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Winds northerly 25 to 40 km/h decreasing to 25 to 35 km/h during the morning then turning west to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h during the evening. Sun protection not recommended, UV Index predicted to reach 2 [Low]
  14. Thanks, Pick! Very brave soul! Situated on the South Pole side of Casey, I'm well familiar with the conditions you experienced. No mention of the thunder and lightning, though? Regarding the wet weather play focus, this doesn't help... Saturday 31 July Summary http://www.bom.gov.au/images/symbols/large/sunny.png Min 10 Max 22 Sunny. Chance of any rain: 0% http://www.bom.gov.au/images/ui/weather/rain_0.gif Gold Coast area Sunny. Light winds becoming north to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h during the day then becoming light during the afternoon. Sun protection recommended from 9:50 am to 1:40 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 4 [Moderate] Interesting the lack of goal kicking practice, after Goodwin's insistence it's somethng they work hard on every practice. Maybe it's done at the non-main-training practices? Also maybe not great for confidence, or for match-day conditioning this week (see above), practising in the wet/wind? Responding to questioning on the possible 'ins', Goodwin confirmed Jones needed another Casey game and specifies Vandenburg, Melksham, Bowey and Weideman as pressing, and he also seemed happy to retain three talls, and confirmed Jackson is still delivering what the team and system requires of him.
  15. You go off line for a few hours and look what happens! Yours will have to wait, Neil; I'm not going to let go of WCW's. Dammit, not only do I love cryptic crosswords, I compile them! And you can see I'm a logophile, given the painful verbiage in my posts. BUT IT'S NOT HELPING!!! Nor are any of the other clues (including your contributions, Mazer, though congratulations for participating better than anyone else!) NEXT CLUES, PLEASE! Football: Will this rain affect tonight's result?
  16. If it is, can I claim Tin? I'd just decided to go down the Majak>Magic inquiry line when your post pinged in, d. Football: Nice to see Vanders get another go. Hope he can cement a spot (and monster a few of the Hawk newbies!)
  17. I clued in my opening sentence. Have you clued anywhere yet? Meanwhile, 'on-purpose' footy reference: In the absence of Demon Army and MCC members, Dees by only 4 goals tomorrow.
  18. I'll save you, demonstone! WCW - Can you confirm it's nothing to do with a) the individuals' football careers or b) football in general (I guess that's a request for 2 clues...) i.e. it's of the drummer/wicketkeeper - or some other? - category.
  19. Not for the rest of us it ain't!?
  20. There's a hint of PM-ed success there, 'stone!? I like the PM-ing approach, as Mazer took with mine. Corollary house rule, then: the puzzler will notify us when they have correct weight/s (also means the agonising hinting ain't far away, too!?) Is there any footy on this weekend?...
  21. Demonstone's positioning was masterful. I copped out by just listing. Brave play WCW.
  22. Sir demonstone, you have created a very enjoyable monster!
