Might be worth e-mailing to the club. Chances are they'll be aware of it, but it's an on the spot, independant interview piece that could be inflentual. Especially if Robinson was called on to verify the mood at the time. Shame if it was overlooked.

I would think though Doctor, the relevance of all these tanking examples would be to highlight the fact that the AFL gave tacit approval to the practices involved. There have been statements made similar to or more specific than McLean's that were never acted on. That must lead to a genuine belief that subsequent use of the same list management practices would also be approved.

Yes I understood that from your post, but I was commenting on the lack of any consideration for the supporter base (by the AFL) in dragging this out ad nauseam.

Firstly, thanks for the report. I fully intended to get there this year but circumstances.. Secondly, I really believe Craig could turn out to be our most valuable get. Just seems to bring something in so many areas. Thirdly, re the frayed tempers, it is a pity we can't harness this in some way. It seems to me that the AFL have no concern for the people who ultimately pay them.

I think Jim has answered the inquisition anyway. He was torn between wanting to win and keeping the priority pick (As most were). The coach was never instructed to lose. I believe Jim Stynes was a truthful man.
