As far as i know Garland is a free agent at thw wnd of the year..correct me if i am wrong but..it would seem that most players who havent resingned by this time of the year tend to be moving clubs..i will be interested to see which clubs attract him...

Viney has had the aggression since day 1, but he has cleaned up the rest of his game, his disposal still has a bit to improve on but it has improved so much since his first season. And his ability to tag Ablett, Steven and Selwood and to beat them convincingly shows how much his defensive game has improved which has a lot to do with his fitness and competitiveness... He could be a star of the competition just needs to sharpen up his disposal ...

His hardness is natural..that loss didnt hurt as much because guys like Viney,Hogan and Toumpas had such great games.

I was waiting for you to bring up the inside 50 count, maybe you have in another thread.

And this is without the one or two easy goals per game which most big forwards get given by their midfield, Hogan would be getting some big numbers if he was playing with Freo's midfield. We average 40 inside 50's a game compare to the good teams who are getting around 60 inside 50's. Clearly we need a better midfield and the game plan needs to be more direct. 31 inside 50's against Sydney just shows how bad we actually were.

And yet we continue to hold the ball up across half back and play in-direct football forcing Hogan to work his ass off getting disposals up the ground where really our midfielders should be doing the work, I just want us to kick the ball high and in his general direction more often, especially if he is one on one! Even if we become so obvious and go to hogan 50 % of the time, I still think our crumbers in Garlett, JKH etc should be able to contest at ground level because Hogan rarely gets out marked. We need to use him more o our advantage as a team.

How good will Hogan be when he has a team that will deliver it to him....

His versatility and competitiveness is where he is better than others like Boyd and Patton, his skills are equally as good if not better...
