Welcome to Demonland: Aidan Johnson

A peculiar selection. Seems a waste of a pick. I'll be mildly shocked if he plays ten AFL games. -
Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford

He strikes me as a no nonsense type. -
I have to join the chorus. Langford and Berry would be a dream outcome for me.

I don't care if we take Lindsay or not, but I will point out that Footy Stuff's videos are not ''highlight'' videos. He's made it quite clear on another forum that he shows the good stuff and the bad, so one can get a better perspective of the player.

I'm sure they'd take Draper at pick 9, but he won't be there. Overlooking Draper at pick 5 due to his kicking simply means they rate one of the other mids higher at pick 5. It doesn't mean they don't rate Draper, but have him lower due to his kicking. Pick 9 is a different issue. If there's a slight knock on Allan's kicking, but they love his other attributes and potential ceiling then they'll weigh up those considerations. And 9 is far from a ''reach'' on Allan. He may not make it to pick 9.

It's ''Allan''. One's a mid forward and the other is a defensive mid. Allan would start at half back before graduating through the midfield. I love the combination.
-
They also confirm Melbourne's interest in Allan and that we've seen him in WA more than once.
-
An Adelaide poster on another site who says he has a contact at Melbourne says we won't take Draper due to concerns over his kicking. He also says that Melbourne believe Adelaide want North's pick 2 for O'Sullivan and not the reported interest in Jagga Smith.

Yep. North will take Tauru at 4 if the HS are correct. We'll have a choice of Langford or O'Sullivan it seems. 1 Lalor 2 Smith 3 Draper 4 Tauru 5 Langford or O'Sullivan Personally, I'd take O'Sullivan if it plays out this way, but I know Dazzle and others aren't as keen. But who knows. Maybe North surprises and overlooks Tauru at 4.

Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?

Happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not on the Travaglia bandwagon. Lacks polish with his disposal and just doesn't seem to have the class one would expect for a top 10 pick in a very good draft. He may play 200+ games, but that's not my litmus test for pick 9. Plenty in tne top 50 will play 200 games. But I see why some like his manic style. I think he'll be a good player. No to Armstrong. He's just not competitive enough in the air. I'm not saying he won't make it, as he has class, but I don't see the aggression or combativeness required to be a sure thing. I doubt he'll become the best key forward from this draft. Pick 5 - Unlike our resident expert, Deespencer, and some others, I do like Jagga Smith. For me his footy IQ with his positioning, as well as his reflexes, is insane. Racking up the disposals, as he does, is incredibly underrated. My eyes tell me he has really good initial pace, although I know our expert doesn't see it. And I love his fast feet and sidesteps. Remember, he's only 18. What will good coaching and a few years of preseason weights turn him into. Smith has innately what can't be taught and what most don't have. I also like Langford for obvious reasons, as well as O'Sullivan. I know there are slows on O'Sullivan, but for me he's the classiest of the lot. The only concern is why he doesn't get more involved. We virtually can't go wrong with the 5th live pick in the draft. Pick 9 - Our expert doesn't like Bo Allan and his decision making, but I love his attributes. His ceiling is sky high. I also like Berry, but know it's probably a bit early for him. I'll back whomever they choose at this pick. They'll still be spolit for choice.- 298 replies

Lazy journalism. Jeff said he is now 6'7''. Sam Edmund's incorrect conversion of that was 204cm. 6'7'' is actually 200.66cm. My gut feel is that he's 199/200cm, which allows for slight embellishment from a proud Father.

Peatling is not worth a pick under 30. Unless you're desperate to be seen to be doing something. Ordinary players become stars at this time of year.

Just give me a midfielder who's got quick feet, is highly skilled, and tough, and I'll shut up.
