  1. So you agree with me and disagree with me. Both comments were from me. That said, I merely pointed out that Langford might have finished the year well, because he was 19 all year. The poster I quoted called him an ''18 year old''. A little amusing, as he never stepped on the field as an 18 year old. Facts, nuance, and many other things, escape the emotional airheads on here.
  2. If you think there's no advantage playing all year as a 19 year old compared to an 18 year old it tells me all I need to know. I like objectivity. I appreciate it's not common on this site.
  3. I said ''partly''. Nothing narrow about it. Fact.
  4. Partly due to his age. Langford played the entire year as a 19 year old. For example, Bontempelli played his entire first year as an 18 year old.
  5. You've come up with a lot of scenarios here, but left out an obvious one. Perhaps, and I have no clue, the club recognises that many of the issues at the club were beyond Richardson's control and that they think things could have been worse if not for his guidance and stewardship. If you're not within the club on a daily basis you wouldn't know.
  6. 5 at half-forward and the last 3 at full-forward.
  7. Duursma is one of the classiest young players you'd ever see. Is he soft ? That's the question. But with his talent you'd take the punt every day of the week. Back yourself to shift his mindset, assuming it's required.
  8. Thanks. What other footy acts are weighted the same as a contested mark ? Or do weightings differ on a sliding scale ?
  9. Thanks. So contested marking barely rates ?
  10. Thanks, Wheelo. Why is Xerri so high in the ratings ? He's a scrubber. He's a very effective scrubber, granted, but a scrubber nonetheless. Are tackles weighted disproportionately ? Is it the clearances ? Gawn averages more disposals, more marks, more contested marks (more contested marks than Xerri's general marks), more intercepts, more score involvements, contested possessions the same, the ruck stats are similar, ... Xerri is a good player, but nowhere near as athletic as Gawn, or the all-rounder that Gawn is. I suppose the eye test is still underrated. Anyway, I'm fascinated why Xerri has such a strong rating.
  11. You've almost nailed my concerns. Viney is a hack with his skills, but even he occasionally kicks on his right. And many, including Bontempelli are proficient. I've never seen Langford even attempt to use it. He needs to improve his gound balls. You got the contested marking right. Plus, he's not as hard at the footy as I expected. Lindsay is far harder at the ball than Langford. Cue the nuffies on here.
  12. It's actually 63, not 65. Perhaps I'm the only one a little disappointed with aspects of his game. I'll cope.
  13. It's not as simple as that. Some players, like Zorko, Gulden and Wanganeen-Milera, will take on incredibly risky kicks that can be invaluable when they work, whereas many players wouldn't even attempt them. It's a junk stat.
  14. It's not that Wilson necessarily has it in for Melbourne, she just loves old Benny Gale and desperately wants Buckley to coach the Devils due to the Benny love and Richmond connection. That's it in a nutshell.
  15. Smith had a coffee with Buckley prior to round 4.
