  1. It's seriously embarrassing. Melksham is the sort of player you recruit on the last day of trade week when you've been jilted at the altar by others. He's not a coup half way through September.
  2. Because we're interested in this spud.
  3. Jack Watts had at least as good/better year than this C-grader. Same possessions, more marks, similar goals and overall rating. http://finalsiren.com/PlayerCompare.asp?SeasonID=2015&PlayerName1=Jack+Watts&ExactMatch1=true&PlayerName2=&PlayerName3=&PlayerName4=&Compare=Compare&SelectedPlayers=1997%2C This tells me that we just can't attract anything decent. It falls into the category: We must do something, this is something, therefore, we must do this.
  4. I've seen enough of this at the MFC to last me a lifetime. No thanks.
  5. I would trade for a "peak age A grader". Who do you have in mind ?
  6. You're a dill Stu and never fail to salute. All positions on the list are important. Do you need reminding that Harmes, White and vanDenberg are rookies ? I also like the look of Max King. Silly campaigner.
  7. The one and the same, although I prefer Hannabal, but alas, that's a lifetime ago and my poor old dog is dead anyway (she was Hanna for short). Btw, I've never tried to hide this, although some seem to think it's a win if they "out me". Anyway, I'm all about love and peace these days I don't want Melksham, because he's just another C-grader. I accept he has some AFL traits and that Goodwin sees something, but after 6 years I'd rather back the draft. Besides, with Trengove (who I've always rated and believe will make it), plus Petracca, Stretch, ANB, vanDenberg, Kent, Harmes, etc., I think he'll struggle for a game. I didn't want Lumumba and nothing has changed my mind. I'm not averse to genuine class, but I see no point in bringing in more very average players. I'd rather back the draft.
  8. Before I respond, I need to know if this is the same stevethemanjordan who thinks Christian Salem is an ectomorph ?
  9. I have no interest in this campaigner.
  10. Leigh says a lot of things with limited knowledge. He's no longer a student of the game, but gets asked his opinion on most things. He kept on asking about Fitzpatrick down back earlier in the year when he'd been playing this role for weeks down at Casey. I don't blame him for not being across things, but I also don't value his opinion as much as I used to.
  11. How can you debut in your second year ?
  12. Pity it doesn't say 44.
  13. I reckon this bit of play is the highlight of Jesse's wonderful first year.
  14. He also confirmed he wasn't personally looking after Hogan. Despite the incorrect reporting of what was actually said, and I agree the lily was gilded, I'd be very surprised if Hogan doesn't extend over summer. It's the contract after that will be telling.
  15. It's far from a massive call. It's just plain sense.
  16. Agreed. I won't be tuning in for a win, just "measurements".
  17. He was frustrated with his teammates, not his opponents. He needs to keep that in check, although you'd need the patience of Job to put up with the morons who parade as his teammates. Have you ever seen a dumber collection of footballers ?
  18. Ya poor bastard.
  19. I know it's unlikely, but I'd love him to get those 14 goals to hit 50 for the season. A bag of 6 will give him a real shot. It would be a phenomenal achievement.
  20. Hogan has received votes in the AFL Coaches Association award for the 4th time, which is almost a third of the games he's played. Extraordinary for a first year key forward. And each time he's received votes from the opposition coach, not just his own. Against Brisbane it was the first time he's received the full 10 votes to be judged BOG.
  21. I read the negative comments last week and didn't comment, because he's not above scrutiny and everyone is entitled to their view. However, some of the reactions towards one of the best key forwards to enter the game in the past 20 years was astonishing. Apparently, some of you didn't like his "attitude". FMD. That's what makes him the player he is and will be. Of all the things to moan about some chose Hogan. It beggars belief.
  22. Gator replied to DeeSpencer's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Clearly, he has some attributes, but you NEVER want the ball in his hands.
  23. Hogan was again in the votes in the AFLCA player awards for round 11. It's the third time in his first 10 games that both coaches have awarded him votes. Has any other player done this in their first 10 games ?
  24. Some of us were desperate to get Hogan in the 2012 Mini Draft and have been entirely unsurprised by his showing at Casey in 2013 and AFL performances to date. Others, perhaps like yourself, are still coming to grips with the talent before you. I just smile.
