I don't reckon.  Every loss to crud teams we've had this year, namely Essendon and St Kilda x2, they had a different feeling about them.

That nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach when coming up to teams we *should* beat is absent this time around.  I bet the players are feeling the same surge of confidence (not complacency) that I am.  We are going to crush them, mark my words.

Couldn't agree more. I'll happily stand with egg on my face if wrong. I just don't think I will be. Just hope the last round doesn't become tactical and GWS allow North through to avoid a rampaging Demons. Maybe they'd be more worried about a top 4 spot. Anyway, go Dees!

It will still take a mammoth effort to get there, but how good would it be to face Geelong with a legit chance of making it?  I'll be a nervous wreck.

Regardless of the outcome, it holds us in good stead for 2017 and we can look forward to seeing our boys put in another strong off season in anticipation of finals football.

I'm looking forward to the drive down. A sea of red and blue scarfs out the windows, the maurading demons descending upon the hapless hamlet of the cats. The victorious return home, like Hagar the Horrible with the spoils, shall be sweet.

I just did a ladder predictor and ended up with us playing Sydney in the Grand Final, am I getting ahead of myself?

Roosy would love it! What a way to go out.

The person from the first half that should be rubbed out is Sicily, that was an old fashioned round arm on Bernie, a dog of an act that should get 3 weeks and the umpire who missed it should be dropped too

This has happened a lot lately. Was it Vince who was dropped in the square last week, only for the umpire to step over him and ignore the incident

I was pretty tempted to take one for the team yesterday, jump the fence and drop David Neitz who was in a Hawks tracksuit helping them warm up. Why are our Melbourne greats helping the Hawks, especially against us on game day. Clarkson, Yze, Neitz. I'm sure there are others, perhaps the umpires were old Melbourne players trying to exact revenge against the old regime. I'm sure I saw a pair of Hawks undies under one of their pairs of shorts.

  5. I don't want to jump the shark, but, buoyed by yesterday's performance and with the slimmest of chances, the possibility of playing finals footy is here!

North Are bobbing in eighth spot like a WA surfer as we circle below. They face three top three teams on the run home! We, on the other hand have Two very winnable games against Port and the Blues, and a finale to test our true worthiness against the cats.

Believing our cue was back in the rack, an ember has been unearthed. I'd love it to burn wild and clear the road to finals. I read earlier the 87 comparisons and I look forward to watching this unfold. Burn Dee's Burn!

We already have quite a rivalry with the Druggies and this would only increase it. Good for the game, IMO. ;)

Imagine our game against them next year. Three of their former players; their only win for 2016 coming against us; they'd be aiming for the 8; we'd be aiming for the 8. If these two trades eventuate, this has Friday night blockbuster written all over it.

Good Friday night game. Turn the lights out for 1 minute and then start the game.

Definitely want north to win. Bucks and the pies are getting all confident. Assault on the finals? Ah fk no

Love watching the Pies get their hopes up, only to see them dashed.  Another in the kidding yourself category (eh, hum. Saints).

    So disappointed by today.

All we can do is move forward - which means Grimes should make way for ANB and we need to get more games into Oliver. Mitch White looked a step off the pace today, and made 3 really critical errors when he needed to step up and attack the game.

It should be list management time now.

Also, I bet we get within 3-4 goals of the Eagles next week and put in a huge effort. Honestly, it will count for nothing. The club needs to take the next step and win games it should. Honourable loses aren't going to help - at the end of the day we sit below St Kilda on the ladder and I don't rate them at all.

Well said. I'm annoyed and kicking up dust, but, I'll move forward and won't lament those poor turn overs.

Is it too early to open the bottle of red I got on standby for tonight?

    Am anything but confident.

Three fingers of Cognac would be far more appropriate at this time of day.

With Smith as 1st ruck and Blicavs as an on-baller, Geelong have a logjam of fwd/rucks: Stanley, Clark, Vardy if they are all fit and with Hawkins there it seems that only one can play.  So there's likely to be some movement.

    A talented ruck/fwd, you say.

    what about that Clarke fella?

Any chance of prying him out of the litter?

I didn't think there was much wrong with the umps yesterday. A couple of howlers each way but otherwise pretty consistent.

Maybe I'm biased against his style of umpiring, but, I reckon you could put me infront of a broadcast blindfolded and I could tell you if he were umpiring. He impresses himself on the game and shapes them in a Solomenesque manner. Praise be to razor Ray for his benevolence and seemingly balanced umpiring on the weekend. But, agree Dr G it was not as poor as usual.

That billy stretch holding the ball was disgusting. Cost us a goal and killed all momentum when we were up

Im not blaming our loss on him, but, he has a real knack of giving us acouple of soft free's early, plenty of benign free's for us in no mans land and balances the ledger with free's against the flow of play and questionable freebies in extremely dangerous positions. He has mastered the craft of camouflaging his favouritism or is it his contempt for the red and blue.
