That's how I first misread the title of this thread. Granted it might have been late and a few single malt whisky' might have enhanced my vision. But, I stand true in my belief of this mis-Prophecy. The thread should be renamed.

Hats off to Uncle Fester for his early call.

Surely this thread should be called Clearance Oliver?

It's a great start to the season, and Goodwin has started well.

However, its a long season and the side is going to face bigger tests than the Saints when it comes up against the powerhouse sides,

Our performance against the top sides will be the measuring stick for our players, our coach, and our game plan.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Still my favourite piece of play. One handed against a 3 time premiership player. Impressive

Mine too. Sent it too my old man last year. I still occasionally scroll back through my messages too show people.

It occurred to me last night, that with Wied coming on as a tall forward, and Spencer giving us ruck depth, that perhaps Jack Watts' best role/position is as a wingman, who can go forward or back as required, plays better on the outside and use his speed and foot skills to deliver to effect..?

an interesting match up on Riewoldt

Thanks Wayne, Saty, Demi Dee, Vogon, Ruffles and anyone else who I've missed that have posted reports. About time you all made it to training. Did you read the last training thread?!

My humble apologies, Ethan, for derailing the continuity of the previous thread.

It seems that my ego is not tall, fast nor footy smart enough to drive that train through such intrepid grounds.

In all honesty, I'm happy to take the good, bad and ugly of this site. We're all here for different reasons with the same intent. Watching training today made me realise that we are in good hands and for what it's worth I believe we are all onto something very special. Go Dees

  7. I was there briefly this morning and having noted the great work of WW, Saty and Vogan P, I have very little to contribute other than a couple of moments that got me excited:

    1. The professional attitude and numbers of support staff. Felt like a well oiled, championship club.

    2. Warm up running, all turned to run backwards on. The punt road side, someone in the group called out and the group responded in unison with a loud enthusiastic response that resonated commitment and belief.

    3. Short kick to kick with slight alterations every couple of minutes. Watching Salem, Petracca, Hogan, Lewis and Jones was a delight

    4. Watching an unusual drill with tennis balls and seeing Harmes smash Lewis. Lewis was winded and sat out for five. Harmes popped over to help him up, while giving him the 'does that hurt old timer' look. Lewis jumps up pats him on the back and got straight in with it.

    5. 10/10 drill looked slick and only just below match day real. Standouts for me were Hibberd, Watts, Gawn, Hoganand Jones. Always present and dangerous.

Liked stretch and Trengrove also. Did see trenners get run down at one point, but, nailed the kick.

Thats all I've got for now. Got distracted by my little girl taking photos of her namesake, Jesse.

  8. Your probably right. He probably gets his own coffee too.

The public denile of interest in Roos, June this year, is enough for me.

Maybe I'll rename the thread "nothing to see here" or "Eddie's influence, best served to patients recovering from surgery"

just making a note of topics that MAY be of interest to Demon supporters. Don't necessarily believe that is the case, but, following with interest.

Glass of wine firmly in hand

  9. I thought the same. No interest in football at all, Tammy's career and family first, Hawaii all the way. To which I congratulate him on his priorities. So what's changed? now in town for the season.

Agreed, he has done his job and I hold no resentment for him progressing his career.  I just have a feeling that when big jobs at the Pies are involved and Eddie pops someone on the media payroll, that where there's smoke sometimes there is fire.

  10. Noticed a little promo from MMM today, announcing Chris Judd and Paul Roos as commentators for next year.

Given the Pies need for senior advisors, is this a transitional position, or a role for Roos to provide advice without the commitment. Or, am I overthinking it?

47, 69, 84... not high strike rate so Dees would be happy to take a punt on all.

Darcy Cameron will be gone by pick 40.

Here is a group of 45+ draft possibles:

    Ruckmen... Jeremy Goddard (WA)

Key backs... Sam McLarty (Chargers), Jack Maibaum (Ranges), Declan Kielty (Casey)

Running backs ... Bailey Morrish (Stingrays), Louis Cunningham (Chargers)

Mids... Hamish Brayshaw (Dragons) Jack Henry (Falcons)

    Utilities... Brodie Romensky (Jets)

Small fwds... Liam Ryan (WA) Dan Allsop (Stingrays)

Midsize fwds... Lachlan Tiziani (Bushrangers) Patrick Lipinski (Knights) Josh Scott (SA)

    Tall fwds... Karl Brown (Knights)

Does the removal of the academy and father/son picks bring the value of our picks up a little?

I heard Graham Wright mention Carlton were happy to trade their 2nd round pick to the Hawks for a series of lesser picks, because, say for example, pick 48 becomes pick 41 (after academy pick are removed). I'm sure guaranteeing  Essendon didn't get O'Meara may have sweetened he deal.
