Max Gawn.... A giant of a gentleman and bloody good bloke
Believe it or not, who wins the popular vote will not make a scrap of difference. The AFL in the past have given the AA captaincy to non club captains, making it a farce. eg. Franklin, Hawkins etc. Great players, but not great captains in the eyes of their own clubs. Max has been a fantastic player, leader and captain over many years. I am not going to change my respect for who he is and what he has done for our club, and the AFL as a whole, simply because his teammates let him down on the weekend. My whole reasoning for rallying for this is to say we supporters still believe in you Max. He is not the reason for our poor form. He is the only shining light in this storm on and off the field and he deserves our support.

Well, you vote for the captain of this year's undefeated team then. I'll vote for the best.

We need to get behind our champ and make him the peoples choice for AA Captain. Please vote for him. Our mid-season All-Australian team: Who makes the cut? - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1144788

Reid Sling Tackle, Darcy Bump, Rising Star Wide Open
You can't deny this bloke is a very special talent. I look forward to seeing him play for many years. Of course I'd love for that to be in red and blue but I understand that is just a pipe dream. I am just pleasantly surprised that the usual preferential treatment handled out to AFL golden children didn't occur this time. Realistically, the already badly battered reputation of the AFL probably couldn't have survived another blatant miscarriage of justice. I also believe the decision will serve Harley himself well in his maturity and development. Sure, it's a shame that it will cost him the Rising Star, but it also says to him, we know you are already a super footballer and a likely future great of the game, but you are subject the the same rules as everyone else. This is one part of the whole thing that I hope is not a pipe dream.

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
Couldn't agree more with the first half of your statement, but to say Goodwin fluked a premiership is laughable. Have a look at ALL of our finals wins in '21 and you don't 'fluke' 100 pts to 7 in the last 40 mins of a Grand Final.

A successful appeal wouldn't be.

Reid Sling Tackle, Darcy Bump, Rising Star Wide Open
.....and when coupled with Pavlich, you just have to turn the sound off, as I do. At least others pretend to be unbiased. Not those two. Ironically, neither were born and raised in WA but obviously suffer from Stockholm syndrome.

I took Windsor, Trac Brownlow, Dees flag for $25. Return would be $215k. I'd written it off, until now 😏

2024 MRO & Tribunal
As predicted. This obvious multi week offence results in just a fine. Impossible for the MRO to defend this decision. A forearm straight to the face FFS. MATCH REVIEW: Warner learns fate for Pittonet elbow - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1131785

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Brisbane
Agree. I think K. Brown deserves a senior promotion before Laurie when the time comes.

NON-MFC: Round 10
You just answered your own question. Absolutely should go, but won't. Sydney Swan in Brownlow contention.

2024 Fixture
My bad. Just the Freo one then. I'll have to find something else to whinge about then. 😬

2024 Fixture
Both of our WA games in July are followed by a 6 day break against a top 5 side 😖

Max Gawn.... A giant of a gentleman and bloody good bloke
Beautifully put LitD. Max is unique in every positive way possible. I feel blessed he is captain of the 'team I love'. Upon retirement, the club should instigate a perpetual trophy to be awarded to a player that excels in a certain area. There are so many areas that he has done with us, so it's hard to single one out. Any ideas, Demonlanders?

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Carlton
Hoping Taj continues his form from last night. I thought he was fantastic when he came on. Easily the best cameo I have seen from him.

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Carlton
Of course. But we are talking about the last spot on our list that was not foreseen. It would only be as a rookie and certainly not long term, at this stage. The mid season draft and talent pool is a very different scenario to the pre season draft. Think of the circumstances under which we recruited Ollie Sestan. He was picked in a team to play draft hopefuls, he wasn't considered one himself, but showed something that caught the eye of Jason Taylor. Like anyone that saw Roy in the Casey game, I had moments when my eyes widened, and mouth opened. It is obvious he has special skills that will always be in demand, and you simply find a spot for those potential match winners. Now, he may have deficiencies in other areas and we would need to do our due diligence, as they say, but as a project rookie he simply has to be considered. Just found this:

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Carlton
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Roy George a LOT more after the mid season draft, presuming he's eligible.
-
CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Doesn't his footwork remind you of someone already at the club.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Always admired Rory as a footballer and human being. Would be very pleased if became part of the MFC coaching fraternity at some time in the future. Great career Rory. Good luck.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Luke Darcy commentary. Boundary dangerous tackle decision. Darcy "he deliberately smacked the ground with his free hand to exaggerate contact". 3 mins later with Alir. "Higgins is in trouble for that tackle as he pinned both arms" Do they realise how f#%*& stupid they sound?

Hit on Clarry
The game is supposed to be cleaner nowadays. Suspensions for 'unduly rough play' and 'attempting to strike' no longer happen. Even actual deliberate strikes are rarely penalised. The common sense (pub test) has been superseded by over complicated, ridiculously jargoned, legal gobbledygook that charges need to match. Perhaps the AFL has simply had to go down that path to avoid legal challenges in this ever increasing litigious world. The result is justice is not served, it seems, on a weekly basis. This will continue to be the case with the current set-up. Even when the AFL believe the decision to be wrong, they fail to appeal as they should.

Harrison Petty
That is certainly my concern. Watched him closely when away from play and during breaks. He walks like an old man, and I should know! 🧑🦯
