  1. I’ve been critical of Harry’s output for a while now, yet still don’t want him out of the team. His harry is good but tackling and disposal are poor and the run-on is pure chaos. But it’s those negative attributes that I think could be turned into positives with a shift up forward to find some touch. His specific position can be Dawes’ feet.

    Time to look to the immediate future (trade-week) and let those on the unknown fringes (obviously subjective) play out the season. Happy for White to have a taste at some stage as well.

    Jetta/Tyson cotton-wooled with VdB’s in Bali. We’re playing for 13th. Tell the incomers they’re a lock for the last three barring injuries (and the Russian’s farewell) while managing the kids (Gus/Harmes/ANB/Stretch can swap in and out whenever) Sweeping changes not for the sake of punishment but for ‘team management’.

    I still believe this a competitive team (with hopefully some extra incentive) and we don’t have a great deal of midfield depth to bolster the center anyway.

    In: Newton, JKH, Salem, Toump, Fitz, Riley

    Out: M. Jones, Bail, Brayshaw, Jetta, Grimes, Garland.

    FF Garlett Hogan JKH

    HF Newton Dawes Lamumba

    RR Viney Gawn Vince

    C Watts Jones Harmes

    HB Salem McDonald Howe

    FB Toumpas Dunn Fitzpatrick

    Int. Cross Michie Riley

    S) ANB

    Good god no. I do not want Toumpas making his mistakes anywhere near the opposition goals.

  2. Everyone has their own opinions on players. Although there are some that we agree on.

    The ones I'd like to see go are;

    Terlich

    McKenzie

    Hunt

    Riley

    Michie

    Cross - Sorry mate, I like you but the last couple of games it is painfully clear you are losing your speed

    Jamar - Trade bait

    Toumpas - Trade bait

    I would actually like to keep some that are others suggesting. These include;

    Bail - Is a gut runner and we know what we get from him even though it isn't flash

    MJones - See Bail

    Spencer - Need a backup ruck

    Fitzpatrick - Need a backup tall, can play back or forward

    Pedersen - See Fitzy + pinch hit

    Dawes - Can play forward and pinch hit

  3. Really thought we were past these days, but no...

    I want to get ND5, 25, 45, 65, 85 Upgrade Vanders, and Upgrade Harmes. That is 6 players to delist. If we trade then we will use a pick or get a player so we will still need to remove 6 from the PL.

    Jamar, McKenzie, Hunt, Bail, Riley, Michie, and Fitzpatrick are the 7 in the frame as they are all OOC. If you want to remove all of them - that will open ND85. If you wish to save one or two then Terlich and Matt Jones should be paid out of their final year. Terlich should be paid out - he has not been near selection for a bloke halfway through his career. It's logical list management.

    If it were up to rpfc:

    IN: ND5, 25, 45, 65, 85, Upgrade Vanders, Upgrade Harmes

    OUT: Jamar, McKenzie, Hunt, Bail, Fitzpatrick, Terlich, M Jones

    TRADE: Howe (Player or 'ND20 or better'), Grimes (Player or 'ND40 or better')

    RE-SIGN (1yr): Cross, Michie, Garland, Pedersen, Riley

    RE-SIGN (2yrs): Toumpas

    None of those re-signings are 'musts' but I don't want to be taking the chaff in the ND - we will back here in two years time if we do that as all 'first draftees' get an automatic 2-yr deal.

    I'd be happy with that except switch Toumpas for Grimes as trade bait and give Fitz the contract and send Riley out the door.

    @jamesmag23 that's a pretty good reply, James. But to my question, did you get injections in the stomach? Can you answer that?

    jamesmagner@jamesmag23 Aug 11

    @Robbo_heraldsun no

    Mark Robinson@Robbo_heraldsun Aug 12Sydney, New South Wales

    @jamesmag23 thanks

    If you ever needed an example of why Mark Robinson is not a quality journalist, read the above exchange carefully. By asking two questions in his first of the above tweets, he has no way of knowing what James Magner's simple, but clever, reply of "No" actually means. Which question did Magner actually answer? Robinson may have followed up seeking clarification, but if he was doing his job properly in the first place, he wouldn't have to.

    You sound like Robbo trying to make a story out of nothing.

  5. 6. McDonald (Dominant, back to his best despite some errors)

    5. Viney (This kid is a jet, always in awe when I watch him)

    4. Watts (Played well despite errors)

    3. NJones (Down on form at times but still in the top)

    2. Hogan (Did well, even at the centre bounce, except for THAT handball)

    1. Michie (I don't even like him and hope hes delisted but he did play well today)

  6. He was absolutely rooted. When Goldstein had the ball and went on a run Gawn really struggled. To his credit he never gave up and still got involved in some marks and some one-twos when he was buggered. He needed a big rest, Goldstein is easily the best ruckman in the comp and would be giving the Brownlow a real shake up I'd say.

  7. Jones, Vince, Viney and Tyson are our 4 best mids. I have no problem with any of them - and the latter two particularly are still definitely in the development phase.

    Brayshaw could be anything, he may well be one of our best in a couple of years.

    Kent, Salem, ANB have all shown plenty. Stretch has shown a bit.

    We still need more but I don't agree that we need 4 new players to come in and take up he mantle of 'best mids'.

    This.
