  1. This is going to sound like one of those mate's sister's best friend's cousin thing. But I have a mate that works with his old man and has been telling a few people that he is excited to have him back in W.A. next year. From what I can gather it is most likely the West Coast that will secure him but obviously Freo will be hunting him down also.

  2. This is what I love about him too.

I've never really seen anyone negate so well whilst impacting the game so much as well. Normally a 'tagger' needs to sacrifice his own game to hold down a champion midfielder, but Vince does it, kicks goals and gets 30+ possessions (a lot of them damaging).

Viney also very good at negating whilst also impacting in a meaningful way, but Vince is on a whole other level.

I have only seen one other person do it just as good and that was Andrew Carazzo in his prime. He could shut someone down and still get a heap of the pill.

  3. Surprised at the lack of love for Garlett here. Got goals at crucial moments in the game and has seen to gotten a really good team ethic now and passes it off when needed. That was one of Micks biggest gripes with Jeffy so whateva Roos has done has been golden.

Hope we can get a few others like Garlett this off seasok

He could really be challenging the big guns if he could kick a little straighter.

  4. I do not find it useful to use the labels 'racist' and 'non-racist' as I do not know a person's context nor their true values.

Maybe the Swans President erred in connecting booing and being racist because not everyone who booed would be nor see themselves as one. Would that be a cop out by him. I don't know. He would have been a lot less inflammatory.

For the record, I didn't "boo" and don't "boo" in general at a game, but this post pretty much sums it up for me. There are many things that could have been dealt with better in this whole situation by the Swans President, the media, the crowd and Adam Goodes himself.

It has gotten to the stage where this whole thing is actually over the top.

  5. He may not have handled things perfectly, who has?

As I have said else where, if you stand and boo with the racists then you are validating their thoughts and condoning their actions. Like it or not that is what you are doing. Lie with dogs, expect to get fleas.

That is wrong though So you are saying that if I choose to boo him, I'm a racist because others are? That is exactly what is wrong with this whole saga.

  6. Relevance? Being boo'd for racial reasons is wrong, just because he gets upset does not make it right or make you more of a man for doing it.

That is one of the stupidest arguments I have read on this whole thing to date!

It is not all racial, whether you want to believe it or not. While some of it may be, it is the way he has gone about things. Singling out a 13 year old girl and making her write a letter to a grown man is a bit far don't you think? Even though what she did was wrong, it was the wrong way to go about it.

  7. It comes down to the motivation for the booing, Jobe is boo'd to a small extent for potential PED transgressions, nothing to do with race, if you boo him you are supporting the thought that he took PED's.

When the booing intensified for Goodes was with each instance of him standing up for Indigenous Australians and pointing out the racism that still exists in society. There is no other reason for it escalating that that, therefore it was driven by race. People have jumped on the bandwagon for various reasons, but much like those who boo Jobe doing so in one voice against PED use, all who boo Goodes are doing so in support of the racial reasons for it beginning. It is impossible to distinguished a different reason when you join a pack.

It is a bit like joining a church because you like the signing, you aren't there for the religion but you are still supporting it just by being there.

Did he get up and have a sook wanting to throw the towel in? Adam Goodes is only fueling it himself.

  8. Do you wish to be seen as a supporter of racists because that is what you are if you are booing Goodes.

How can you say that? Jobe Watson was/is boo'd for good reason. Was it because he was white?

I didn't include the Port Adelaide game as he started sub. Sorry if it looks a little out of whack. Pretty much has broke even or beaten his opponent.

  10. This sums up everything that's wrong with football at the minute. (And I don't mean us losing all the time.)

The forward has to run back to the forward line.

The forward half of the ground is empty of players, so when the forward's team gets it, the forward has to run back to the forward line.

The players are crowded around the ball, to such an extent that the forward half of the ground is empty of players, so when the forward's team gets it, the forward has to run back to the forward line.

    What an unpleasant unatttractive spectacle.

That's the way it happens with some setups. A 22 man defense, just means that players need to run hard to spread. The 22 man defense is fine, I don't have a problem with that. But they just need to work harder to beat their opposing player running forward.

  11. Where does our latest injury list sit? I had a quick look at the MFC site, and the latest update there is that it looks as though Dawes will miss the QB Collingwood clash, but Tyson is a possibility!

This was last weeks report; Kent was looking into the development league on the weekend although I don't know if he did play. Which means he could be right to go for this weekend. Salem could also be back. :)

Sam Frost (toe) – 4-6 weeks

    Dean Kent (hamstring) – test

    Cameron Pedersen (wrist) – season

    Christian Petracca (knee) – season

Christian Salem (hamstring) – 1 week

    Jack Trengove (foot) – season

  12. I Guess Gawn is starting to prove the doubters wrong and ending the debate that we are desperate for a good ruckman, when we have an excellent young ruckmeister right under our nose.

And didn't he like saying on national television that he was the #1 ruck. As if letting everyone know haha.
