Actually watched Heppell last night.
He and the players still believe they have done nothing wrong. It is dumbfounding.

Not necessarily the team I want, but how I think Round 1 will line up.
FB: Garland Dunn Jetta
HB: Salem T McDonald Bugg
C: Tyson Vince vandenBerg
HF: Watts Pedersen Brayshaw
FF: Garlett Hogan Kent
R: Gawn N Jones Viney
I/C: Frost, Lumumba, Kennedy, Petracca
Those in bold obviously have some injury clouds with them and so have been placed on the bench. If they aren't right to go for Round 1, then I think Harmes to come in for Lumumba and Stretch to come in for Petracca.- 1

Lamumba and Vince must be very close as both seem to be moving very freely. Lamumba putting in a 3.9 for 50m. Hope I don't jinx him because Dawes did a 3.6 last week, and look what happened to him.
Can I just say, are you timing this? Because if so, these would be World Record times...
Also, it is Lumumba.

“Like a cork in the ocean”
One of Dennis Cometti’s most famous lines. It was first delivered after West Coast Eagle Peter Wilson booted an incredible goal in the 1992 grand final.
“Nasty situation. He’s caught between A Rock and a hard place.”
The line came when a player was caught between former North Meloburne player Anthony Rock and the boundary fence.
“It’s like finding fault with Miss Venezuela”
Cometti speaking about Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane.
“Alan Didak was Stevie J before Stevie J was Stevie J”
On Collingwood player Alan Didak having skills like Geelong’s Steve Johnson.
“Metropolis, kicking to the city end”
Speaking about former West Coast and Fremantle player Daniel Metropolis.
“The guns of Paparone need a bit of work”
Speaking about young Brisbane Lions player Marco Paparone.
“Barlow to Bateman. The Hawks are attacking alphabetically ...’’
On Hawthorn players Kris Barlow and Chance Bateman
“How’s that, a two Carr collision, both with the same rego!”
When Josh Carr wearing jumper number nine for Port Adelaide, bumped his brother Matthew, wearing number nine for Fremantle.
“Parker to Carr … … sounds like a match made in heaven!”
Another play on the Carr name.
“Brent (Guerra) hates losing and that extends to his hair.”
On Hawk Brent Guerra, who did advertisements for The Hair Institute.
SOME LINES NEED NO EXPLANATION
“Scotty Cummings alone in the square, jumping up and down and waving his arms like they’re playing My Sharona”
“Spider had both his legs taken out from under him — leaving only the other six to balance on”
“Ling’s running off the ground a little bit gingerly”
“Farmer may have an injury to his calf........hmmm, a farmer with a calf problem.”
“Kevin Sheedy, who was coaching Essendon 14 years before Adelaide was founded. The team, not the city.”
“Collingwood know they’re in trouble, it’s like being in the bathtub with the Loch Ness monster!”
“In for the Cats today, David and Steve Johnson. Who better to patch up a line-up than Johnson & Johnson?”
“It was like a self-saucing pudding. Players just waiting for the whistle”
“Ball in dispute, Lamb, now Yze the meat in the sandwich. Really Lamb should be in the sandwich.”
‘He was like a Bombay train. They were hanging off him in all directions.’
” Hay is bailed up on the boundary line“.
” Cousins runs away from Carr–not the first time we’ve seen that happen this season.”
When a huge ruckman fell onto a very small player nicknamed Elvis and then slowly picked himself up, Cometti pronounced
“the building has left Elvis’.
A player named Gram had his shorts pulled down in a tackle: “strippoGram” deadpanned Dennis.
"Tonight is umpire appreciation night.... I give it about 30 seconds"
"Liam Anthony's birthday this afternoon... Well I guess it was his birthday this morning as well, anytime after midnight actually."
"The cats are all around him, like a bowl of milk"
"Brown looking for black, but gives it to Greene. It's confusing at home, I know"
"The last 5 scores have been Dogs behinds, pardon the expression"
"Just need Milne to emerge from the shadows, that's where he operates best"
"Eddie Betts could hide in that divot... His shorts couldn't, but he could."
Bruce: "What has Jack Anthony done for Fremantle? Played 3 games last year." Dennis: "Fair to say he's done Jack"
"Riewoldt has the same amount of goals as me at the moment"
"Saints are under pressure like Aaron Sandilands thongs"- 23

Brayshaw and Vanders had a nasty collision but seem fine.
Sounds like a head on collision between a train and a truck.

What makes you think Salem won't be right for round 1? Was he in rehab all session? Has he re-done his hammy?
if he's copped another bad hammy, than no way he plays round 1.
Viney's fault too.

RDT is my preference. I did both last year and Fantasy is just a pain to use sometimes. Especially when the website always crashes.

That second last quote. Is that correct? Surely by now even the most one eyed Essendon supporter must be wanting separation from Dank and Robinson.
Yes, I think it was more tongue-in-cheek than anything.

If I was a Dons fan my reaction would be even worse. I'm sure they will delude themselves into thinking he will be a gun for them. I wonder what they are saying on the fan sites.
Now we will know what it is like to have a ruckman who can win a hit out.
----
At least we now have someone to replace Leuenberger.
----
Happy to get him was unlucky to be turfed last year by roos for gawn
Averaged 8 Disposals, 30 hit outs, 3.6 tackles and 1.6 marks last season
Not the worse more hitouts then we got in the whole of last season----
If we beat one side this year, let it be Port with Jamar dominating.
----
As long as we keep attracting players and support staff from clubs with some sort of connection to Dank/Robinson then im perfectly happy.
----
Good news at last, this is the second best signing behind Crowley.

3 conferences - 6 each
play own conference twice, others once ( 5x2=10 + 12x1=12 - total 22 games)
top 2 in each conference to finals plus 2 wildcards gives a final 8
easy peasy
That is a good setup but the only issue for me is the wildcards.

So is there actually any JT progress in this thread?

I don't understand how that could now happen as Cross is contracted in a developmental role at the club.
Understandably he wanted to play on last year and I'm sure he is still top-notch from a physical stand point, but he would be sacrificing an on-going job if he decides to play on for one more year the Essendon. He is also our on-field runner this year. I think he would be more than satisfied with his position.

Talking about Robbo, we all know the train he got on when it started rolling. But, I was surprised the other night on AFL 360. Once he had read the findings at how damning it was for the players, his tune changed quite drastically. Especially towards the players about how they were lead down this path that they should have these injections. I think he realises now that it was that everyone (most) had bought into this program and knew what they were doing.
I still think he is a tool though.

100% agree.
He should have come out and said they will support the players through this suspension but it is important to keep integrity in the AFL. Instead they came out and threw a tantrum about it. Not the first time they have done that either.
This verdict also shows how poor the AFL management are. I just read that there will be a commission on whether Jobe Watson should return his brownlow! Seriously, can they not make one decision without a commission being held? It is pretty straight forward, he was caught CHEATING the year he won therefore he should NOT be illegible!
It is more of a nice way to put it we will be taking your Brownlow. Instead of a big headline saying Jobe Watson has been found guilty, therefore being suspended for the 2016 season and the AFL will be stripping him of the Brownlow medal.
