POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
One thing I noticed was how poor our defensive setup was. We played well in front and allowed Collingwood to get out the back goal side so many times. We tempt the kick, but canโt stop it.

Pies out working us is the real issue. They flood back to defend, then spread. Until we rediscover gut running- we are complete frauds

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
I would think May comes in for Adamโs, Howes and Windsor both out. Would like to see Viney dropped and Salem but not sure it happens. Lindsay, Kolt and Spargo all in the frame to play. Kynan Brown and Kentfield are Smokeyโs. On another note, Petty and JVR played their best game together this year. Hope they continue to build form and connection.

Daniel Turner - Next MFC Captain?
I know I will get shut down for it, but still recon JVR will become a good CHF or CHB and will be a leader of the club. Tried his guts out, I think a new coach and some work with a Tom Hawkins type mentor will help him a lot this offseason

Daniel Turner - Next MFC Captain?
I would run through brick walls for Disco..

Trade Targets
No home sick risk if the club where you are from donโt want you. Unless he wants a career change, he might just have to suck it up.

Cal Wilkie unhappy at Saints. Would be a great get, in the Steven May category. I would move on Lever and bring him across in a heartbeat!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Salem is a joke.. no wonder McVee is not happy. Viney is also our weakest midfielder. Oliver looked a different product today.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Rivers poor kick was a killer. Oliver had a look today, I havenโt seen in years

Just want to see the Melbourne wrecking balls the next 3 week. Physical, up for the fight!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Very different appointment. He was brought back to reset a poor organisation, where other coaches wouldnโt be afforded the time. He was there under the agreement it was only a short term gig, with a handover.
- Welcome to Demonland: Luker Kentfield

CASEY: Rd 20 vs Brisbane Lions
Kentfield off no preseason is having some VFL season. Also like seeing Fullerton down back.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Adam Simpson spoke the most sense on this topic. You donโt want a coach that needs to be convinced to join your club (Longmire). You want someone who is dog hungry to prove themselves. Clarkson and to a degree Lyon needed convincing and ultimately it was the coin that got them over the line. Coaching is a tough gig, you need the desire to do the role justice

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Danny Daly might be the Steven Bradbury of the coaching search.

NON-MFC: Round 22
Straight to the big club, make it disappear file..

Training Ground?
Can we just get an agreement from the MCC and AFL that we can train at the MCG 2 days a week till Caulfield is handed over.. Fixed!!

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Yes I agree with most points. Just like to highlight how good it was to see Windsor in the middle and gaining confidence in the final quarter. I think the next 3 games we should have a good look at what the starting centre bounce line up could be for round 1 next year. Lindsay, Langford, Rivers, Bowey, Chandler, Culley and McVee should all be looked at.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Hard to know the right call. Trac rightfully so, is not a bash n crash player anymore. Saw him opt out of 2 aerial contests on the weekend. He is a professional and trains hard. His kicking is awful.. probably see him more a forward than a pure midfielder these days Oliver appears to pick and choose when he puts effort in. His kicking is awful, but as a pure extractor- he could recapture form. Most likely elsewhere. Could see both leaving and doing well elsewhere, not sure we will see the best of them at Melbourne. So it comes down to what are you willing to get back for them. Goody loves the status quo and the past, so while he is here, it will be tough to see hard calls. Lever is a good one to trade out. If we get something back, then Iโd be keen. Howes and Turner appear to cover him already.
