I am an AFL member. For the MCG I like the third level in the Southern Stand.
It's open so if it rains there is a problem but viewing wise it is great. The second level is under cover but I like the openness of the third level. Even the first half of level 4 is pretty good.
Do you know anyone who is an AFL member. They can buy a large number of guest tickets and the member does not need to accompany you. Whether they can do it for the dreamtime game is hard to say. That is one of the marquee games at the 'G. Essendon also have one of the highest numbers of pre reserved seatholders of the Melbourne clubs assuming it's an Essendon home game.
Etihad it is of course level 2 or the absolute front of level 3. Level 2 is hard to get as it is Medallion club mainly.
The real trouble you will face is that the tickets are released in blocks and in simple terms they sell fence to back in one section before they release the next section.
Good luck ...sounds like great fun
Thanks heaps!

This is probably not really on topic, but I couldn't find a better sub thread to post in.
As a birthday treat for me, my mum is taking a bunch of the family up to Melbourne from Tassie on the 2nd of June to watch some footy. We'll be going to Etihad for the Dees vs Doggies game and then the Dream Time at the G game.
Some of us are members (but of different clubs) and to my amazement my wife has agreed to come and watch some "sportsball". My question is when it comes to buying tickets (and I believe they go on sale Monday) where are the best seats to be located if you aren't in the members?
Cheers!

Good, they have finally started calling the frees for Daisy when her jumper is being pulled.

12 - 0 Inside 50's. Should be game over already.
Doesn't help when all the Freo players are just about in our forward fifty.

That was a great hip and shoulder.

Also wouldn't mind this on the main board as a game day thread.

Not liking the style of Freo at all. Cunningham is good

Whatever. Both facets have to work together, but bottom line is wins.
It amazes me how much slack supporters have given the MFC over the years.
Each to their own
Not quite what I meant.
I often like your posts, but sometimes I think you just yell to yourself inside your head and then quote people who are having a discussion just so that rage is backed up on some server somewhere.

Small Companies mate, Zurich aside
The MFC should have the A graders, it just shows how bad things got.
Players not giving their all in the last 2 rounds of the previous 2 seasons has only made PJ’s job that much harder.
As the name of the city, to the home of the game we have not modernised well
Just did a quick check, so could be wrong, but doesn't New Balance have a revenue in the billions per year? Hardly small.
Pedantry aside, I think people conflate the business side and the playing side of the MFC too much. It's the sum of all parts that leads to a successful footy club, not mushing it all together and having a whinge.

I just realised the name of the thread and the poll are opposite, hence my vote is actually opposite of what I wanted.
EDIT: I just saw others pointed this out.
Me too!

I don't want an outside mid.
A player who can get his own ball, has a bit of leg speed & hits a target will do just fine.
Who and for what?

I'm sorry if you can't get around the paywall, but Beveridge confirms in this article that they ARE trading Stringer and that it's in the best interests of the club.
I don't think we will be a part of this trade at all, but it's still huge to think that they are trading someone so flawed, yet so talented. Reckon someone like the Bombers will pounce on him and stick him in the forward line with Daniher, which will have BT frothing at the mouth.
I find it a bit strange that a club would telegraph it that openly.
-
Thought when he came over he was great, but then we had players that were so woeful he may have looked the standout.
I still think he's (a bit more than) serviceable and can't see a trade for a pick being worthwhile if it just gives us another young un' who needs to develop when, given what happened this year and the expectations that we all will have for next year. We will need mature bodies.
IF it can be some complex trade that gives us a mature body that is even a slight upgrade, yeah for sure. But that's probably a yes from everybody.
So I'm not a yes or a no, I'm;
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
