  1. A couple of Hibberd kicks yesterday looked a bit wonky but I can tell you the Bomber blitzers would rather still have him. He is a major get for us make no mistake.
  2. Everyone's upset about the suspension. What Lewis brings to the club is much more than the on field stuff we expect. Picking Lewis up will be repaid multiple times over in forthcoming seasons. What is much more important to the club now is to continue to play with the mindset we are now bringing to each game. It's no longer lambs to the slaughter each week like it was. Make no mistake about the fact that we are an entirely different group nowadays, and Lewis is the embodiment of the change in culture that will see us feared and revered in years to come. Lewis is driven and he has even more reason now to spark the Dees to seldom seen levels
  3. I realise now that my support for Collingwood was un ethical, un conscionable and un acceptable. I withdraw it and apologise to all.
  4. I am at the crossroads coming up to this match. In the normal course of events, I dont want either team to win. To even up the ledger, I am obliged to hope for a Collingwood victory and hope for the pies to hit Essendon with everything. Reluctantly, go Pies !!!!
  5. And Stewart could rock a frock too.
  6. I think Petracca went to Whitefriars although he wouldn't have been out of place at Marcellin.
  7. There was blood and a single gunshot but just who shot who ????? I'll bet you Jack Watts was involved in it !!!!!!
  8. And I thought no one outside Marcellin would have heard of him.... !!!!!! ps...... we'd prefer not to mention Gangitano, never one of the best half back flankers we've ever had !!!
  9. and Montagna for that matter. Another product of that font of Italian stars , Marcellin, which also produced Marco Bresciano and Franco Di Pavacqua.
  10. Silvio Foschini....... Mario Bortolotto.........?????????
  11. Roos would have been rapt to get Heeney but our bid on Heeney was an ambit claim and Roos knew that the swans were always going to match the bid. Our interest was in Petracca in that draft.
  12. Williams had great hands no doubt but the thing that differentiated Williams from 95% of star midfielders was that he always seemed to have about 30 seconds to get rid of the ball. That's another quality I'd like to see Oliver with. It'll come and if it does, then watch out !!!!!
  13. I am going to have another son and name him "Clayton Oliver ......" This kid is a dead set freak and , did I mention, I shook his hand in the supermarket " ?????
  14. Which hasn't happened in the last three games !!! After the latest of those three, I said to my Collingwood supporting students " Welcome to the era of Collingwood never beating Melbourne ever again. " Have I gone too early on that prediction ?? Hope not !
  15. There is no evidence that the Eagles did anything wrong. The players all said everything was okay. What more proof do you want than that ???
  16. Well, people. This is the lucky numbered page of this thread for our Chinese friends ( no. 888 ). We can expect a rash of posts from Chinese demonlanders who want their pearls of wisdom to appear here. Apropos of rashes and China, it reminds me of one I picked up in Hong Kong a few years ago...... but that's a story for another time.
  17. Back to serious business Picket, when Clarry seems to have about a minute to get rid of the ball, then we can start comparing him to Greg Williams.
  18. I loved the old Choo Choo bars !!!! They were great ! As were liquorice blocks ( 4 for a penny), teeth, liquorice all sorts, cobbers, not to mention fags. Which dummy thought naming them " fads " was a good idea ??? Probably the same idiot that changed the names Dick to Rick and Fanny to Franny in the Magic Faraway stories. Oops I seem to have strayed from the topic somewhat. I believe young Clayton will turn out to be quite a decent player.
  19. I have just arrived at the home of the big banana, Coffs Harbour, a cultural wasteland if I'm any judge. Melbourne supporters would be thin on the ground in these here parts. The average IQ has jumped since my arrival. I must say in it's favour that it's a thrill to know that the bananas in the supermarket have only travelled 3 kilometres to get there. Also the banana trees appear very lush and healthy indeed.
  20. I think the addition of a large dollop of ice cream and some malt powder improves the banana milkshake immeasurably. Of course, with those things added it is no longer a common or garden variety milkshake. It is a thickshake
  21. Interesting info about the history of Tasmania, thanks demonlanders. You learn something every day! I can't recall too much about Australian history from school. The only thing I remember is that Matthew Flinders sailed down the east coast from Sydney. He entered Port Phillip bay through the heads and went on to mount Martha. That surprised me because I had thought Martha had stayed home in England.
  22. Is that the " near" canal or the other one ?????
  23. Dear Jobe, " The time has come, to say fair's fair To be a gent, not be a lair. The time has come, a facts a fact, You don't deserve a Brownlow, Just give it back !!!!!! "
  24. You've got me on that one Red. Dont forget, " Be it ever so humble, there's no place like Rome." Or should that be Romsey ?
  25. Rome, of course, was named after Romulus. If it had been named after Remus, it would have been called Reme.
