  1. I was not referring to your clarification as being rubbish. I used your quote as an entry point into the discussion. Sorry if it appears that I am having a go at your comments. I am however having a go at the AFL's interpretation of its own rules. I did say "If Lynch had bumped Viney and in the process Lynch's jaw is broken then it is Viney's Fault?" Because as a defence Viney should say he was virtually stationary and Lynch ran into him as evidenced by Viney being thrown backwards after the impact. Then the injury is an accident and not as a result of Vineys bracing himselft for impact.
  2. So let me get this straight. If Lynch had bumped Viney and in the process Lynch's jaw is broken then it is Viney's Fault? Rubbish. Secondy who are the bio mechanics experts that can determine when in the impact the injury happened and who caused it. It may have happened when Lynch fell onto Georgio's shin, therefore the bump incidental and the injury the result of a good tackle, I have watched it frame by frame and Viney was virtually stopped. It is impossible to bump someone when stationary. He was bracing for impact, in self protection mode. Lynch was cannoned into Viney by Georgio's tackle. Viney after the impact was forced backwards. So if Lynch ran into a virtually stationary Viney then give Lynch 3 weeks, what rubbish. To the AFL - Accidents happen. A 175cm player with one foot still on the ground both legs bent is hit by a much heavier 191cm player standing albeit with bent legs and the big guy gets hurt, not one player was remonstrating with Viney no umpires thought in deserved a free, that is an accident, it is a contact sport after all.
  3. Oh Rob, what have we done to offend you? Climbing the fence and entering the arena is illegal Robbie boy. I suppose it is a little like coming on here and bagging us from the safety of your computer. Demonland member since 8:56 this morning mmmmmm. I would rather gouge my eyes out with a McDonalds hot apple pie than follow Collingwood. If you want high spirited argument with like minded supporters you can have some fun here, but I wouldn't recommend swinging too hard and too often you may end up being treated like a Collingwood supporter. Edit;Spelling
  4. Sadly that's all I could find. But shows he can do it.
  5. Tends to stop the sh1te. You should try it.
  6. Watts played for Brighton Grammar in the APS competition. Think Hawkins was Melbourne Grammar, not sure.
  7. East bound and out of here, no he isn't, he's back again. "Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Can you feel the tension? I can! I can feel it... down in my plums. They're getting a nice bluish hue, gettin' ready to take 'em to the farmer's market. " from Ashley Schaeffer East Bound & Down.Chapter 5 2009
  8. If they would accept you they are not private enough JW (In jest) In England. Public schools are what we call private schools. Here the fees at Private schools range from the less expensive Catholic variety to the more expensive like Geelong Grammar or Kings College full fees approx $50k pa. They can refuse entry if they choose. The public, fully government funded schools must accept applicants. Here I am taking this seriously, you are probably taking the p155. I will stop now.
  9. Could Mitch Clark come back if he recovers quickly from his depression? I have been thinking that part of Mitch's recovery is to reduce stress. By removing the stress of having to come back, he may start to improve rapidly. If he did could he return? He is still listed on the AFL site as a Melbourne player. Maybe just wishful thinking.
  10. I hear you. But I disagree. I think 3rd man up would be much better for Jack. Have him run in and jump over Pederson/Jenkins and tap to advantage. He will always be out wrestled by stronger players.
  11. English may be a second language to you, but I have no problem with questioning decisions. What I said was "you whingers need to realise that you are not supporting your club by tearing down players and decisions of the FD." I am talking to the miscreants that say things about players penis flaccidity. If a player won't tackle or run, fine say that. But personal insults are demeaning.
  12. He is contracted. If Roos cannot get Watts playing to his (Roos) level I suggest at the end of next year he will be offered up for trade. The variables, Roos extends his contract. Injury to Watts. Watts start to show form.
  13. Thanks for captioning your work Haha what drivel. That encapsulates what you go on to say. If you are so naive to believe that what is written in a public forum can have no effect on another you are misguided. If someone here named you and continually questioned your manhood I don't think you would be happy (I assume you are male) and it could have a deleterious effect on your performance. As far as who is in the best position to decide on whether a player is worth picking I stand by my assertion that that is the coach's job and if Roos picks Watts then OK. Personally as I have said elsewhere I think Watts needs a rest but the coach knows best, he is after all paid to make the tough decisions.
  14. Differing opinions are fine, but the constant complaints and character assassination (including comments about penis flaccidity) is tiresome. If the coach we dreamed of having is happy to select Watts and we disagree perhaps we could say, "Watts could do more, I'd like to see him run harder and stick tackles but Roos must see something that I don't." My personal view is that a rest could be good for Watts, I was not happy with last weeks performance. Roos says he was not the biggest problem, I agree. Your second point about anything on here effecting the club and the players I would say yes. This forum can be a breeding ground for dissent. At games people that may have read posts here may be more likely to voice disapproval, as they may feel they have support in their feelings. Having someone shouting at you in the players race saying that you are a "limp rooster" does not help. That can do damage. I don't need everyone to agree with me, that would be boring. I can be wrong, it is good to have that pointed out, and when wrong I have apoligised or accepted correction. I like to disagree with you from time to time.
  15. Diamond Jim was certainly built like that triple brick outhouse you referred to. He unfortunately had a similar dislike of contact to our Mr Watts. I think we should ease up on Watts, if Roos says he is OK that should be enough, he alone knows what he wants Jack to do.
  16. Here we go the two bob experts. Drop Watts, do this, do that. Guess what, there is a bloke being paid millions of dollar,s a bloke who has coached a premiership side, a bloke who knows a hell of a lot more than you naysayers and he says Watts is not the biggest problem, that Watts should play this week. Now if Roos says play Watts then I agree with him, the rest of you keyboard champions can pull your heads in. I support the Melbourne FC , Paul Roos, the players and supporters you whingers need to realise that you are not supporting your club by tearing down players and decisions of the FD. So in future when I read posts that disagree with our coach I will immediately realise that you are not a Melbourne supporter, you are a whinging loser, prepared to undermine the best chance of success we have had in over 20 years.
  17. Players like Dustin Martin were overlooked - Bad attitude. Jack Darling -Bad attitude. Daniel Rich - ?? attitude. It happens all the time, no club is going to say "we didn't pick XYZ because he is a tossr or is a lazy B" they just slip down the list until they reach their opportunity cost. A nice kid with skill like Jack Watts looks like a gem, just toughen him up and let him go. Doesn't mean that they didn't check his attitude. Still a work in progress IMO. Edit :- Can't say tossr.
  18. Most of the 2 meter plus guys played in the ruck in junior years. I think we probably do agree. Early on as forwards they were ordinary but they developed and other than Giles become better forwards than rucks. I think Gawn can be both, Fitzy too but more a forward. Too early to tell with King. Jamar's hands have turned to wood but could still be a handy decoy. We clearly agree on the chant, Go Dees.
  19. Mitch Clark was drafted as a ruckman by Brisbane, rested forward. Almost AA. Giles is a ruckman. Tippet was drafted as a ruckman he was a lousy kick (basketballer). David Hale also a ruckman tried forward did not muscle up enough.. So some players can and do do both. Gawn will. Dawes, Gawn, Frawley, Salem, JKH sounds OK to me. Speed, strength, chase, skill & grunt, might just work. Man up on that Adelaide.
  20. You know this as fact. I think you are wrong.
  21. Ruckmen at full forward - Mitch Clark - David Hale - Kurt Tippett - Jonathon Giles - Jarryd Roughead - Ty Vickery V Melbournes forwards this year our best Chris Dawes & Shannon Byrnes on 5 that's 77th in the AFL and Jack Watts on 4 McKenzie best at Casey, Riley and Gawn among the best.
