  1. This may have been posted before. Roy Masters piece on how the AFL signed up to WADA Why the Essendon 34 ended up on a journey to CAS At this point, Browne leaned across to Demetriou and whispered, "You're f---ed." The AFL's long-term lawyer convinced the CEO the AFL could no longer continue in the position it was adopting. The AFL agreed to become WADA compliant by November 1 that year. It wasn't such a bad outcome for the AFL considering that, on Demetriou's departure after a decade in charge, he had won $2 billion in public funding for the AFL. The AFL has major stadia in all capital cities but the issue now is whether funding would be continued if the code left WADA. Bartels says, "It would only require a stroke of the pen by government for any future funding of grounds to be dependent on any sport that plays on that ground being WADA compliant." Consider no MCG SCG Gabba AO etc where would the AFL play?
  2. Yes beeb but they know it was good for them! When this finally backfires and (heaven forbid) a player contracts cancer or a child is born deformed, what defence does the club have? None!
  3. OD I always view it as a donation to the club. If we start to win more regularly I am sure others will be happy to donate. Every season I check if my friends have paid for the MCC/MFC membership, if they have not I chide them weekly until they have paid for MFC membership. (One to go)
  4. Interesting point. We know that players have been nominated multiple times, could you be nominated every week?
  5. Mick may be telling the truth, not that the public will ever get to know.
  6. Mick is no fool, read what he said. "Steven Trigg assured us when he arrived here 'Don't take it too personally, we – being Adelaide – had him stitched up 18 months out’," Malthouse told SEN. What does stitched up mean? Mick said exactly enough to get the desired outcome. It could mean verbally Eddie said he was interested. Which is probably what happened. PS: I do not trust Trigg. He has been caught cheating before. You know what they say, leopards, spots.
  7. C & B as a MCC member there is no need to pay for MFC membership. I do and most of my MCC-MelbourneFC supporting mates do as well. One of my sons the Melbourne supporter does not. ( He is o/s this year) The Richmond supporter (who cares) does not pay for RFC membership. I would be surprised if an extra couple of thousand MCC members could not be persuaded to become MCC/MFC members.
  8. You can be such a tool. Home = MCG Away = Ethiad
  9. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-to-probe-malthouses-betts-claims-20150526-gh9jq3 UPDATE: The AFL has revealed it will make "enquiries" into Mick Malthouse's extraordinary claims that Eddie Betts had already agreed to move to the Adelaide Crows "18 months out" from the time he actually left the Blues. In a remarkable interview with SEN on Tuesday, Malthouse claimed that Steven Trigg, who was chief executive officer of the Crows before taking up the same post at Carlton, had told the Blues coaching staff when he arrived not to take Betts leaving personally because the Crows had him "stitched him up 18 months out".
  10. I don't have a problem with the misinformation, to me it shows how foolish they really are. The more they say the worse it gets.
  11. We could trade Bail and McKenzie for Gibbs & Murphy, is that the help you had in mind?
  12. Barnie I think the interest is that if Gold Coast stay bad, players may want to return to Victoria. Maybe we could snare a disgruntled star.
  13. I noticed that Jay Schultz may be looking for a new home. Is there a Klink in the draft?
  14. NAA, are your thumbs tired? I have no idea what that means. Edit: Translation? The dogs should have gone after McAffer, much cheaper and ???????
  15. Or as Roos would say, to Beveridge.
  16. Yes had had to take the kick, the shame is most of us knew that he would miss.

  18. Edit. The where's your bloke - on the bench line. Great comeback, that would have shut Murphy up.
  19. Great team effort. All the regular villians did well.
