  1. I'd love to do pick 5/Toump/Tappy for Dangerfield, Adelaide may do that deal. Get an extra 1st round pick while they haven't had one over the last two years with the Kurt saga, they get an SA born kid who still is in the learning stages of his career, and also Tappy who comes from SA who was highly regarded in his first two years/may think they can turn him around.

While we get one of the best in the business in Dangers.

  2. I absolutely f'k'n hate Geelong supporters, they're actually my most hated out of the whole AFL. The sad part is that I like the actual team, a well established club who can rightly so dish out a bit of banter. The only reason why people automatically say Essendon, Collingwood, Richmond supporters are the worst is because how many of them there are, if Geelong had that many then they'd be known as the most feral.

  3. Watching tonights game I hear about throwing money at Dangerfield yes great player but throw a big contract and a fair amount of cash at Crouch, 2nd week back from injury 2nd year player he is all class fantastic accumulator with clean hands, awareness in traffic and going to be a clearance king

No way they'd let Crouch part, they didn't get his brother for nothing. They're both to set up their future. Dangerfield, I'd throw everything and more for him.

  4. Here is a name that appeals as a potential bargain... Brad Sewell.

Another hamstring injury has meant another 4-5 wks out. This year has been ruined by injury. At 30, hawks are likely to offer him at best a one year deal. He is surplus for them and has tasted premiership glory already.

We should offer a 2 year deal. We need on field leaders. We need centre square clearances. We need midfield depth. Sewell in exchange for pick 80 or exchange in trade for James Strauss (who is likely to be delisted anyway).

The Cross experiment has worked. I agreed with this, despite being howled down by some of this site. Why not again?? on the proviso we buy as a late pick trade , delisted FA or swap for a player we would delist anyway

Has done his hammy THREE times since Feb, it will be hard as it is for him to crack the 200 games mark. So that's a no thanks from me.

  5. People get seduced by high pick's too easily.

If you took Boyd purely on his performance this year and not on his draft position you'd have to have a very different opinion of him. He's been extremely poor in his first few games. Hardly got a touch. On the basis of those performances he would be a huge risk. He might be a player who's early physical development gave him a huge advantage at Junior level but he doesn't kick on at Senior level. He is a risk at this point. Do we need to take more risks with high draft picks. I think not.

Jono O'Rourke has been very disappointing so far even though he was a no. 3 pick. You wouldn't offer up one of our high picks for him now.

Dom Tyson didn't necessarily set the world on fire, but we essentially traded pick 2 for him.

  6. People keep saying "Roos said he wants mids mids mids", blah blah... News flash: WE WON'T BE ONLY TARGETING MIDS!

We still need another key forward (like Boyd, I'd love Tex), another backman who can f'k'n kick, and another ready-made ruckman to take over from Jamar while Gawn/Spencer/King all develop.

  7. Not Sure why you would think Disastrous off season?? We get 2 pretty good mids! Would love Parker but swans I highly doubt would let go? They would want 2 first round picks, he is great but one player doesn't make a side or 3 mids which rosy said we really needed!!!

We can get far far BETTER for our (potentially) two first round picks, hell I'd even say our trade for Tyson/Salem is better than that. Tom Mitchell has played 4 AFL games this year while Rohan has played 6, they haven't proven themselves yet so to say give them both our first round picks is beyond me...

I say keep our very first pick, trade the other, for someone who is PROVEN and who has CLASS. I'll even do pick 4 + Toump, for Dangerfield. We have the cap, and expect Roos to get a huge scalp this year. He's impatient for success and he says we need class, Patty will do us wonders.

  8. Ideal off season- On the assumption Frawley goes;

Roos and Jackson both sign on for another 2 years (3 would be better)

    Sign Brett Kirk as Successor

Trade both our first round picks and any fringe players

Get Tom Mitchell and Gary Rohan

    Target Jake Carlisle

    Another free agent: Okeefe/Malceski

    FINGERS CROSSED

    Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, nooooo thanks.

  9. They've already still won one more match this year than we did last year, and while they're losing each week, they aren't losing as badly as we were. They won't get the PP, if we didn't get one in the state we were in, then surely they won't get one how they are right now. The other 17 clubs were against us getting a PP and again the other 17 clubs will be against the Saints getting one.

  10. I reckon it's time we target a couple of huge signings

if we lose Frawley we could have picks 3&4 in the draft

offer a juicy contract to Dion Prestia, yes it's unlikely he will even consider leaving the suns, but I am pretty sure he is OOC at the end of next year, and would become a free agent, he's grown up a demon supporter, comes from a family of demon supporters, 5 years and good dollars to come home and play for the club he loves is not something to scoff at.

Dylan Shiel to me looks a bloke who is ready to start winning games off his own boot, we had a massive dig last year and very nearly got our man, I am very confident we will again and will be right in the mix to land Dylan

Patrick Dangerfield, Unlikely but a legitimate Superstar, Victorian lad, would a massive pay day and good contract get his attention?

we could offer the crows a deal such as pick 4 and Jimmy Toumpas to land a fully fledged superstar

Jeremy Cameron, All Australian at 19, OOC next season, worth a massive offer in my opinion, could form a potential premiership combination up front with Jesse Hogan and be a key pillar in our long term planning, Would pick 3 and 4 land us, Cameron and Shiel?

Adam Tommlinson, might amuse some people on here but I think he's a super talent, I seem him emerging in the way Lynch at the suns has, has an amazing work rate, good hands and I think he could become a very difficult forward to stop for opposition teams in the future, could probably land him for less than a first round pick also

I reckon if we can net a couple of the above we will be in a great position going forward

I'd like to see the side line up in 2015 as

    Grimes Dunn Garland

    Vince Mcdonald Jetta

    Shiel N.Jones Watts

    Howe Hogan Tommlinson

    Petracca Dawes JKH

    Jamar Trengove Tyson

    Viney, Toumpas, Cross

    Salem

Even ONE of them would do us wonders. I agree with every word you say.

  11. Ok so we all want to keep a turnover merchant and an indifferent player and not investigate what it would take, to get hold of a bloke who can ( CAN) take a game by the throat! a match winner no less have I got that correct?

Now let me see exactly how many of these have we got right now?????

Or is it because you guys don't rate Reiwoldt? Is that right?

Ok then so if someone like ah Petrie or another key forward ( insert name........................................) was interested in coming across we would say no to a deal like this? have I got that right?

Coz if that is the case then we may as well not investigate any potential contracted player swaps because we are ah too unwilling to roll a dice?

is that right? Too precious, too comfortable ah and two more, too predictable and complacent to try.

Ah I think I get it!!

And if unwilling to trade these two are there other ah, too valuable players we would not trade out??

I think as Sydney have proved you have to be totally bold and totally ruthless to build success, to bad not enough on this site want it enough!

ah, I get it even more now!

Riewoldt is a spud, he only shines because he plays for a very average f'k'n team.

  12. First the Vickery suggestion now Riewoldt... Give it a break FFS. Riewoldt only shines because all the other Tigers forwards are duds. Grimes is Melbourne through and through, no he's not the most talented player but his leadership is undeniable, he's not the captain for no reason. He's also still young, he can and will improve as time goes on.

And again what the f is the big problem with Watts? Day in day out I hear our own supporters bagging him when there are others at fault and just him, and he is not even the worst on field. Give him a f'k'n rest.

  13. This is why i think demonland is great for a laugh. Every year it's the same.

    1) Season goes off the rails

    2) Supporters start longing for the off-season

    3) Supporters start to get impatient between start of off-season and draft

    4) Draft comes and goes and hope is restored

    5) As pre-season kicks in to overdrive we looked really good, increasing optimism

    6) Supporters start longing for games to begin

    7) Season starts and inevitably, the process begins again

Well for me I'm looking forward to it so we can bugger off our list cloggers and bring in some actual talent. It also gives us a chance to plug up some holes that we still have on the field: class mid, a backman who can actually kick, recruitment of draftees who will instill us the supporters with hope that they'll one day be champions, get in some valuable depth, etc. The off-season also means another pre-season for guys like Trengove/Hogan/Toump/Salem/Tyson/Viney/JKH, etc. This pre-season for me isn't about hope and confidence that will just go down the drain during the season, it's about the excitement leading up to our rise.

  15. Apparently a few clubs have put feelers out for Griffiths from Richmond who has had injury problems in the past and now is struggling to get a game over there. Could be handy as a cover to provide key position forward depth.

He's played 10 games this year, which isn't overly too bad, but he's not a great player. Big bodied but that's about it.

  16. So he is having a C grade year so far?

I give our backline a solid A this season and Dunn, Grimes, McDonald, and Howe are a big part of that.

Howe has been excellent back there.

To be fair Howe has had a few games where he wasn't good, but it's only because he was still finding his feet as a backman. He's been solid the past few weeks, our backline as a whole has been superb for the most part of this year.
