  1. Absolutely agree He has proven time and time again that he cant. He had to go. What good is insurance if the insurance company cannot pay up? You dont have insurance. We have delisted him 12 months ago and he is a rookie. Do you think we should rookie our 34yo ex Captain?
  2. Good post Redleg. Yes they have gone silent but Bring Back Powell did fall on his sword on this issue as he was ardently against clearing him in 2007. An outside bet someone else who are in the flag mode may "punt" on him through the PSD or mature rookie. It wont be MFC. I am not so sure the ability that Trav had in the early 2000s is still there today.
  3. Best opportunity is back pocket as an improvement on Bartram within 12 to 18 months. Otherwise I dont think he will be a regular in the 22 as a midfielder. Happy if he does though. 2010 was a big improvement on the efforts I saw at Casey in 2009.
  4. You can PM them to me. On the performances in 2010, bar Sandilands who was better than Jamar?
  5. Can you name them? I have never heard anyone speak of it as a given at all. Everyone is hopeful. Mark Jamar - overrated - well I have heard it all. Guess we know what an AA is worth then.
  6. Ah yes the power of thinking for yourself? Your responses has all the credibility of Shane Warne trying to explain his drug taking and salacious texting of women other than his wife. If he is fit to play and not selected then he is deemed not good enough to be in a bottom 4 club. For a 1st round draft pick that you want to talk him up as, its poor form either way. It was not because of injury as you have erroneously tried to assert was the case. Sorry damn facts.
  7. David Williams was a clever well balanced mid sized forward who came from the MFC country zone. Unheralded for a number of years but played some really good football in the 1988 GF on a dark day. Only issue is his kicking for goal was iffy some days. Came from nowhere and a knee injury struck him down.
  8. No. It occurred when Bailey was coach. It was one of his first acts at the Club. CC was on board during that trading period. The issue is that Bailey's philosophy has not changed and neither has TJ in that period at Brisbane. He is just 3 years older and further on the fringe in the AFL. Think of the option given due consideration. And I am sure it would not get that far in the MFC FD and I doubt any FD member would raise it for fear of viewed with wide eyes and amazed disbelief.
  9. Where do you get them from? Because you have been exposed factually consistently throughout this thread. If you had taken the time to read and consider other views rather than building your next factual errored and misguided rant, you have taken cause to reconsider your position. No you keep digging deeper..Oh well. The reference to the Courier article evidenced that he had been dropped by two coaches for considerable periods over a two year period. Its puts another hole in your statement about TJ only being dropped for injury. Its patently wrong. Yet you fly the flag of unwavering ignorance and claim everyone else does not consider your option. It would appear that they have considered the issue more than yourself drawn far more and drawn reliable sources of info than just your (up to) 30 second thinking spasms. And you have yet to put a coherent plausible reason why would should look at TJ. At best, the comparison with the 4th or 5th rookie should be send alarm bells into the most simple mind that maybe the TJ proposal isnt that wise. Take 30 seconds..maybe more to do what your so proud of claiming that you do.
  10. FWIW, I understand that the Club did allocate resources afford special treatment to Trav particularly in his early years. However the aim should be the opportunity and responsibilty lies with the individual. And for that Trav must wear the heat.
  11. And they get dropped also. In the case of TJ he has been dropped a number of times at Brisbane. Here are some facts: http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/statistics-support-lions-backing-for-travis-johnstone/story-e6frepf6-1225765842088 http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/brisbane-lions-recall-travis-johnston-for-western-bulldogs-clash/story-e6frepf6-1225761139950 Dont get trappled while thinking too much.
  12. While I like Bail who has surprised on the upside after some lacklustre Casey performances last year, I am not sure at this point he has nailed a best 22 role. He is in the mix and needs to continue to improve. As for Scully...he is a decent kick and will get better as he becomes more at home in AFL. He was very good in his first year. As for Judd... I know he has been a fabulous player over his career and won his 2nd B'low but in the last 6 to 8 weeks of the season, I was underwhelmed with his disposal and kicking ability. I reckon he is still battling "groin problems" and can put no strength on his kicks. He has lost penetration and taps at the ball. He will finish with a great career. I just wonder how long he will last..
  13. Clearly Whooaa there cowboy. You do what you can. B) Wise words but again lost on..... Your first sentence smacks of the semantics you fall into when you are pushing a ridiculous point. You are saying that we should recruit him if he changes his atttitude and with the new sub rule. He has spent 30 years of his life as simpleton who has never worked out what it takes to exploit what talent he did have. It aint changing now. And the sub rule will be for the benefit of other player types, not one quarter wonders. If we were embued with a veteran under the sub rule then we would have kept Junior. For the direction MFC is taking with its list, picking up TJ (no matter how cheap) is so dumb that I cant believe its a debated topic on here. Dark days indeed on D'land. As another poster said "It aint going to happen".
  14. How? When many ICC representatives are continually proven to be corrupt over so many years, how much worse can it get? Outside Ashes series, I believe there is room to question nearly every unusual result in the past 15 years. Anything involving the Windies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and certain Indian performances. I would add Zimbabwe and B'desh but they dont have to be paid to drop games but their administrators are on the take financially. Its hardly astounding at all.
  15. The designated sub will not be used for a pinch hitting veteran whose talent has been spent. For the record,he did have talent. Its a finite resource in AFL. And you'd be nuts to waste your time on him. And its no wonder you havent considered what Bailey would do. What's changed since 2007? The margin between what TJ delivers and what the game requires has widened. He has not dominated since his tagless R22 in 2007. I hope the other 21 players give you the improvement that you RA RA on. You want improvement and go backwards recruiting TJ.. Amazing. It would only be at Casey. He hardly bagged one in 3 years at the Lions. The people that should get that ...just wont two sheds.
  16. Its got nothing to do with his personal attitude or what he wants to do at all. We dont want him. Bailey wanted him out immediately he joined. Recruiting TJ flies in the face of every thing we seek to do with the list. The veteran list gives us the opportunity to put 1/2 of Green's salary outside the salary cap. Why waste that on TJ? Your position is even more mind boggling when you were carping on about there are no excuses next year. We must improve RA RA RA and you want to recruit TJ. << Smacks forehead>>
  17. No I see it. Green and Bruce will be on the Vets list. I think you can only have two. And why would we waste it on that waste of talent. And you still havent worked out what role he will play. And if he is in competition with the 4th-5th round rookie then give me the rookie every time. At least in two years you might get something out of the rookie for a particular role. I know what you get from TJ and its floss compared to what we are building in the middle. I cant see what TJ offers when we have Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Davey, Sylvia, Gysberts, McKenzie, Blease, Tapscott, Bennell, Bail Jones Morton fighting it out in the middle. Get the picture?
  18. No he wouldn't. Problem is his best half would have been the one when he was sitting on the bench. Given the I/C changes I dont think you could carry such a unreliable and past it luxury on the pine.
  19. Doesn't work. Who comes off our list? What role would he play? And you have to reserve in the salary cap the prospect of TJ meeting all incentives. Bailey wont have him back for the all the reasons he got rid of him in the first place. And a 1 year contract is contrary to where MFC is heading in list development. I am not sure any other club wants a lazy underperforming 30 year old. He's finished at AFL level.
  20. We know he has HAD the ability to play but his output has been diminishing over the past five years. He's finished. If Bailey was so keen to get rid of him when he joined why would he take him back?? We are not a charity FCS.
  21. Spencer played 3 games for MFC. I dont think he held Earl Spalding back at all. Rod Keogh is a good get.
  22. No brainer is right. B) If you dont select him he costs you nothing also. Has Judd's grandmother nominated for...
