  1. He was alright. Wind played havoc with the ball and did not help the big fellas but he is going to be good. Somebody to kick to in the forward line. Weed was also good today. Real good.
  2. Yep. I don't bet either but he has been terrific for the last 4 or 5 weeks and been named in the best for the last 8 games. May be worth breaking my duck (is that the right saying?)
  3. Dead right. Cruel world.
  4. No he wasn't. Michie was by a mile and has been in the best 2 for the last 4 games. He was terrific again today but I realise that he has been written of on this blog. He will do well in Casey's b&F and at 50's for the Liston is worth a few bob on winning that as well, particularly ass he will play the rest of the season at Casey. Missed by 2 votes last year (from 8 games when the winner played 18). Michie played HBF for the whole game and still kicked 2.
  5. Was really just taking the pizz. Tiny Tim and my son when he was 3 year old are the only uke players i have seen/heard. Until I watched the video above the uke rated with the recorder.
  6. I can die now. I would never have thought I would see amazing and ukulele in the same sentence. Not even sure they are in the same dictionary. But then I have been deeply scarred by the regular sightings of Tiny Tim in my youth.
  7. Kneed in the head and called for holding the ball (with help from the geelong numpty that was actually holding it) That bald umpire always wants to impose himself on the game.
  8. Doubt this means anything this late in the season.
  9. I have often wondered what the KPIs for our players are and where the emphasis is. It seems very much that its based on contested possessions, marks etc. Clarkson is on record as not rating contested possession but score involvements. We don't seem to rate score involvements just the actual goal kicked. I am aware through people that are close to the FD at Richmond that they also rate score involvements (not just goal assists). Geelong and the Bulldogs have similar philosophies according to players I know. They don't play as congested as we do and at times they look like they are playing basketball.
  10. Reading between the lines of the VFL player review I am thinking the only changes will be for injury. Tomas Bugg: Tom had 26 possessions, including 15 contested. He had a massive 18 tackles and seven clearances. His numbers give you an indication that he was right among the action. He led the way in a manner that he attacked the ball. It was a really solid game from him – it was what we expected and what we need from him. He’s had two games back at VFL level and both of them have been at a really high level. Tom is in line for a recall, if the opportunity is there. Viv Michie: He had 36 disposals, 10 marks and six inside 50s. Viv continued to perform at a really high level in the VFL. His ability to create uncontested chains and give our team some real run and creativity, around his ball use, was particularly good. He’s had a super year in the VFL and he’s put himself in line to be selected, if an opportunity presents itself at AFL level. Ben Newton: Ben had 28 possessions, which included 16 contested. He had six clearances and kicked a goal. Ben’s past three weeks have been really solid. He plays a number of different roles for us and plays off half-back and the wing. Ben’s a creative player – he won the ball on the inside and on the outside. He’s another player who had a big impact on the day. He’s pushing to play senior football, if an opportunity comes up. Clayton Oliver: Clayton had 28 possessions, including 15 contested. He had eight tackles and five inside 50s. He’s one of our first-year players and was down a bit in the past couple of weeks, but he really responded in a really strong manner. Clayton was really good around the stoppages and he’s a hard player to play on because he shows really quick reaction time to get in at the football. He uses his hands to release people from tight situations. That was as good a VFL game as I’ve seen him play. He’s another one who is pushing to play senior football, if an opportunity comes up.
  11. Seems a bit daft doesn't it. I played footgolf once in Belfast. Soccer ball was kicked around a golf course. The holes all had slight rise which meant you got it in or it rolled away. Bleeding hard but really great fun. Beers did not help.
  12. I am calm. Just find it annoying especially as I know you are a good supporter of Viv from your past comments. I really rate him but think he gets very shabby treatment from the club when it supposed to be all about performance. His 3 games were not bad and in my opinion warranted games yet he seems to be held to higher standards. I also know I am biased and focus on his performance more than others. Ah well its only a game. I am quoting the Official VFL stats. I don't know what I am talking about, Just re-read them It was 10 marks 2 contested. Don't know what the definition of a contested mark is but in my book at least 6 or 7 were taken in a contest. But it was only VFL level.
  13. Yeap. Forget the 10 marks (all contested according to the VFL stats and the most for either team) forget the 92% DE, forget the inside 50 count (every week) and forget that the stats I posted are not the actual VFL stats which says he had 3 tackles. Hate to have a squad of these type of slackers.
  14. Yeah I agree. Get Michie in.
  15. Only 2 inside 50s.
  16. Pokie joint. Probably not but has a fancy (carpet on the floor instead of saw dust real cutley instead of pies in a bad and chiko rolls) eating area and a kids playground.
  17. Mate of mine got his throat slashed and the only reason he did not die wass because he was absolutely pisharted and so his blood pressure was low. Nasty place in the 60s and 70s.
  18. 9 inside 50s out of 52 and 3 rebound 50s out of 30. 4 goal assists. He plays an outside role that provides the outlet so tackles are not the focus of his game. Read Plapps report which rates his game highly but then he knows what was expected.
  19. He was horrendous yesterday.
  20. Garlett has done absolutely nothing to deserve a recall. Has not responded well to being dropped a la Kennedy. In fact he has been poor for some time. Stretch must be on thin ice as well. Did not even know he was on the ground against Sydney. Probably get a gig against Adelaide but needs a big one.
  21. North Ballarat are a basket case and were mad even worse by losing 3 players by quarter time Cannot compare this weeks game to last weeks because the opponents were very poor. Can't get excited about anyone's performance this week. Seriously at times witches hats would have been more competitive.
