They re-signed Milera to a $1m for 3 years last year, and see Lever as a potential captain. And clubs like North, Saints and Carlton (who had the cap space to go after Kelly) would snap up Lever before pick 10. Here's some facts: Stringer - All Australian, recent premiership player and under contract. Lever - Out of contract. So why do you think it is that Lever would cost more financially and trade wise on the open market? Usually uncontracted players have less currency than contracted, because the threat of the PSD comes into play. And every other club would be prepared to pay more for Lever than Stringer, not just us.

The only deep seated issues with Stringer is that he hasn't played decent football in 18 months. Plus you trade for needs. Stringer is an X factor forward who offers little defensive pressure. With Hogan, Watts and Petracca, our forward line has enough of his type. We got Garlett for pick 999, and he had superior recent form when we picked him up.

Amongst all the crap rumours, how do we propose to get Gaff. He's contracted and worth at least an early 1st rounder.

Whilst Richmond's structure changed as a result of injuries, it was their pressure across that park that has led to their success. It's too simplistic to say that if we plug in a couple of small forwards, we'll achieve the same success. IMO, our issue is mindset, not structure or talent.

I'm with Wiseblood. This is a piece of crock. The notion that GWS would even consider trading an established star in Shiel for a top 3 pick is ludicrous. They are in their Premiership window now, and Shiel is a key component. The line "GWS are yet to decide if he is available" suggests that your source is someone trying to bignote themselves.

No surprises here. Thankfully the Jake Spencer experiment as a backup ruckman is finally over. 38 games in 10 seasons says it all. White showed something, but injury prone and lacks pace. We are now well stocked for half backs. The club did the right thing by giving Trengove every chance, but he just wasn't up to returning to his best. Hulett always looked like a good suburban footballer. Surprised when he was drafted, but unsurprised he's been delisted.

Agree. If the Football Dept wake up and realise that Tom Mac is a better forward than backman, Weed will be spending another year at Casey. And if he doesn't start dominating at that level next year, his currency will be severely diminished.

You are kidding? By NRL standards their crowd numbers are impressive, and they get far more media in Melbourne than the Swans and Giants get in Sydney.
