  1. If Tmac's role is to make a contest if he can't mark it, then he failed dismally. Bombers defenders outmarked him on about 5 occasions, and rarely did Tmac bring the ball to ground. The problem is that Weid hasn't shown that he can play this role. If available, BBB has to play. If Lever is available, then T Mac becomes sub, and Tomlinson is omitted.
  2. From the BT school of commentating. Trying to bring excitement into the call rather getting the teams and players names correct.
  3. Switched on late. Looked like Casey had the breeze that qtr. Rosman playing in the backline, and reached the centre with a kick out from a point. Chandler also had a shot that went 60m for a point. Howes kicked a nice goal, and later kicked a point running along the boundary, which he should have centred. Mitch Brown got cleaned up behind play, but got up ok. Haven't sighted JVR.
  4. Really? Do you not understand how gambling works? Ultimately, Betting Agencies are a stakeholder of the AFL. AFL clubs should be transparent with information that is critical to the nature of their stakeholders business.
  5. Buddy was a proven generational talent, and the Hawks did fine without him.
  6. This is where the frustration lies. A week ago, Dr Laura's report said that Hibberd was rehabbing with Petty. Goody comes out and says that he's a chance to play. When the Dr says that a player is in rehab for a leg injury, it's usually at a least 1-2 weeks before they are completing full training, and another week or 2 before they'd be considered for selection. He was never a chance to play.
  7. Kate's first project is to demolish them and build a state of the art facility for the MFC.
  8. If I'm Lever and May I wouldn't be taking less money. The same applies with Gawn. They are in their prime and entitled to get paid accordingly. Jackson and the up and coming stars will get their big payday when they reach the AA level of Gawn, Lever and May. Brayshaw on the other hand has already got his big payday after his 2018 season. The club won't say this to his manager, but they could argue that Gus owes us a slight haircut on his next contract. Tmac has taken a haircut when he extended his last year of his contract to three years. Harmes has also had his big payday, so his next deal probably won't be on bigger dollars.
  9. So I shouldn't trade him out of my Fantasy team?
  10. I'm pretty sure that Max mentioned in a podcast that he sort Jordan Lewis' advice in the week leading up to the Grand Final. Whilst Daniel Cross was the ultimate pro, and set training standards during his time at the club, Jordan Lewis would have had a greater impact on our premiership team.
  11. He didn't play the last qtr so there is a theory that he was rested, due to a 5 day break to Friday night's game. He was certainly impressive for Casey.
  12. I think the comments are fair. He's misread the flight of the ball on several occasions, and is clearly frustrated with the interpretation of "blocking" in ruck contests. And it seems that he understands that he's not at his best, and lets Jackson take over.
  13. Spot on. I don't understand the hate for Frawley and Howe by many on here. Neither player deserted the club, and both had to endure our darkest times. And both players should be proud of what they've achieved at their new clubs.
  14. Why do we need to make concessions to an already brilliant and established backline, just to fit Weid into the team?
  15. Did Howes get rested in the last qtr? Didn't see him. JVR looks very promising. Mitch Brown was a class above. It puts pressure on Tmac. McVee and Smith looked at home at this level. Laurie did some nice things, but doesn't look AFL ready. We really don't have that much depth aside from key forwards, excluding Weid. Dunstan racked up possies but looked lazy, particularly when Casey didn't have the ball. Melk got plenty of it, but his decision making was ordinary. Ditto Baker. Aside from the injured Premiership players, didn't really see anyone pushing for selection next week. Bear in mind that this was a low intensity game, and Sandy had a majority of Sandy listed and Saints top-up players.
  16. Bedford and Chandler have shown almost nothing when given their opportunities at AFL level. Spargo isn't getting dropped for either of them in the near future.
  17. Mentioned on Gus and Gawny that the club is giving away a free 2nd membership for those who purchase a 3 game membership, if you use the Gus and Gawny code. That's one way of bolstering the membership tally.
  18. If Rioli chose to contest the mark, he would have had his arms in a position where he could have taken a chest mark. He chose to turn sideways, which could be construed as bracing himself against contact or deliberate head high contact to Rowell with a hip and shoulder. As with the Mitch Robison case, bracing yourself is no defence. FWIW, the tribunal panel member's name is Jeff Gleeson.
  19. If you watch Dr. Laura's injury report video on the club website, she brackets Petty and Hibberd as rehabbing, whilst saying the Rivers will have a test. I'd rule out Hibberd based on that. No mention of Lever, which I'm unsure is a good or bad thing.
  20. We're fortunate that Ben King isn't playing for GC. No reason for Tmac to play down back. Assuming Lever, Hibberd and Rivers are unavailable, the matchups could be as follows: Casboult - Tomlinson Lukosius - Smith Chol - May Rankine - Hunt Wouldn't be surprised if Dunstan comes in for Salem and Harmes spends some time down back.
  21. That's my take, although it was his 3rd game. He worked hard but didn't show enough to say that he belongs at AFL level. May get some more games as a sub, but can't see who he replaces in the starting 22. He's put himself ahead of Chandler in the pecking order.
  22. I would be shocked if that happened. Goody never considered playing Tmac down back when Tomlinson got injured. If our backs are under the pump it will be due to our mids getting beaten. But some supporters will put the blame on the usual scapegoats in Hunt and Smith.
  23. Just saw an Instagram post from the club taking at training today. They showed a couple of players taking set shots for goal, and Harmes was one of them. Only forwards were in the vicinity waiting their turn.
