I wasn't knocking Jesse for the choices he has made and everything you highlighted is exactly what has bought me to this conclusion. Everybody deals with life differently but I have a pretty good idea how he feels as I lost 2 close friends in a car accident when I was in my teens and then lost my father when I was in my early 20s. And your spot on; sometimes it's just really hard to care about anything, especially an insignificant game of footy. That feeling can appear out of nowhere, at any time. I personally think that Jesse has handled himself magnificently this year. His body language (which so many posters pot him for) has been a massive improvement on last year. Only fools with NFI would be critical of him for that anyway. I was mainly trying to say that going home was his main priority not a premiership. I don't begrudge him for that.

I agree, just the fact that Jesse wanted to go to Freo proves he doesn't have that voracious hunger for a premiership. Freo would have known he was coming home this year or next, we've done quite well!

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
Only 23, learning from the best and Max obviously gets along well with him. Based on his AFLX comment. We might have a big win.

Way overs, your not suggesting Josh should bend over again?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
In the last quarter when Gunston got that free for taking out the legs, when they were coming hard at us. He missed the shot but up in the Olympic stand it looked like it went through. A couple of Hawks supporters in front of us jumped up and celebrated turning around really trying to rub all the Melbourne supporters noses in it. You think by the silence they would have worked out that he missed but no they were just loving being complete [censored]. I even had time to say to my sister, "wonder when someone will tell them that he missed" her reply "Let them go, this is Gold" ????

Bennell was always a risk, injury issues and his other issues were pretty public, even one of his family said it would be a mistake for him to return to WA. Nothing comparable to Jesse. Just crap from Watson.

It seems to be coming to an end, the players just outside the 22 have been baling out for a few years now, salary cap would be close to maxed and onfeild success is waning.

This is all about how players perceive us as a club as well. If a player is looking to come to us and we say we want them it's as good as done, on the other hand what player in their right mind is going to pick Freo after the way they have delt with both Hogan and Neale this year or Adelaide the way they delt with Lever last year. Paying overs for Lever may have some massive rewards down the track.

On one hand you have Goodwin and Mahoney who stays tight lipped and gets deals done to get the players we chase. Or you get Ross the Boss and Bell do everything I can to make a [censored] out of myself. WA would have to be losing some shine.

1 example of this was the Port Game. In the last quarter on the wing Jesse went a 1 handed marking attempt. He got a good piece of it so as a marking option should have gone both hands and clunked it. Can't remember whether the ball was turned over or went out of bounds but the next disposal after that was a port kick down the line and a mark to Westoff and a 60m penalty which he slotted and stole the lead. It just wasn't good enough of an effort, especially at that critical stage in the game.

Spot on, and add to this: They pull out of the trade, then rumours circulate that Jesse is damaged goods. No S#!@ Sherlock, losing a parent at that age, especially when you have a close knit family, will "damage" a person. (Speaking from person experience) Also if Jesse is the different cat, introverted bloke that people say. Well I'm sure his going to feel right at home at Freo now!! Bunch of morons.

Loved you at Melbourne Kent! The sealer against the eagles this year and that absolute Beauty against Essendon, 3 bounces down the wing and put us in front in the last. What a win that was in our dark days. The game against North a few years back from memory he kicked 3 and played a blinder! But the right decision has been made from all camps here. Kent is securing his future and Melbourne making the move easy. If Kent had injured his shoulder in the first quarter of the eagles game instead of a week later, I think we would have delisted him. So that pick is based on 1 game of footy. All the best Kenty, hope you can get your body right, except against us.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Club would know by now. If he's staying we'll know soon. If leaving they will work a deal with Freo before announcing anything. Freo don't have the currency to do a deal yet. They have to do Neale trade 1st then maybe pick swaps with Port before we even start negotiating. If he's leaving trade won't get done today.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Don't mind if he stays or goes so to make the day more interesting would like Barrett or Stevo to make an early call on his decision and balls it up!- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Jesse will tell the club today but the club might want another 10 or so pages before they tell us.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's Mahoney posturing to get value in the trade, not the reason behind the trade. As in "Hogan wants to go home or Melb giving him a push because he won't sign another contract"- Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's not the public line, the club has said very little, but oblivious from your statement you know more than everyone.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Simple, sign now with the MFC or look elsewhere.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Keilty might not get another contract depending on which defenders we bring in this trade and draft, but he certainly should get another year if there is room. In hindsight we should have bought him in instead of Petty for the Saints game. He had a solid finals series in the VFL and was one of the few that stood up in the grand final. Can't rubbish a player who hasn't even had a crack at the AFL but who's VFL performance have been solid with a few BOG in there.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
And as I've posted before, I think the Hogan trade is being driven by the club. Sign a contract now or move on. Which is entirely fair as Hogan has said he likes it at Melbourne and if he did sign a 2/4 year extension and things changed next year and he decided he wanted to go back to WA, then we trade him then.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I was talking about Vanders, I would expect the club to offer him extras to make life easier for him if he was going to stay but not force him to stay if he wants to leave.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Putting up a fight to keep a bloke away from his family who's father just died would not only be a fail for the club but a failure at humanity.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Agree! 4th is par next year. - Farewell Dean Kent
