In the last quarter when Gunston got that free for taking out the legs, when they were coming hard at us. He missed the shot but up in the Olympic stand it looked like it went through. Bennell was always a risk, injury issues and his other issues were pretty public, even one of his family said it would be a mistake for him to return to WA. Nothing comparable to Jesse. Just crap from Watson.

It seems to be coming to an end, the players just outside the 22 have been baling out for a few years now, salary cap would be close to maxed and onfeild success is waning.

This is all about how players perceive us as a club as well. If a player is looking to come to us and we say we want them it's as good as done, on the other hand what player in their right mind is going to pick Freo after the way they have delt with both Hogan and Neale this year or Adelaide the way they delt with Lever last year. Paying overs for Lever may have some massive rewards down the track.

1 example of this was the Port Game. In the last quarter on the wing Jesse went a 1 handed marking attempt. He got a good piece of it so as a marking option should have gone both hands and clunked it. Can't remember whether the ball was turned over or went out of bounds but the next disposal after that was a port kick down the line and a mark to Westoff and a 60m penalty which he slotted and stole the lead. It just wasn't good enough of an effort, especially at that critical stage in the game.

No S#!@ Sherlock, losing a parent at that age, especially when you have a close knit family, will "damage" a person. Kent is securing his future and Melbourne making the move easy. If Kent had injured his shoulder in the first quarter of the eagles game instead of a week later, I think we would have delisted him. Club would know by now. If he's staying we'll know soon. If leaving they will work a deal with Freo before announcing anything. Freo don't have the currency to do a deal yet. They have to do Neale trade 1st then maybe pick swaps with Port before we even start negotiating. If he's leaving trade won't get done today.

Don't mind if he stays or goes so to make the day more interesting would like Barrett or Stevo to make an early call on his decision and balls it up!

That's Mahoney posturing to get value in the trade, not the reason behind the trade. As in "Hogan wants to go home or Melb giving him a push because he won't sign another contract"

That's not the public line, the club has said very little, but oblivious from your statement you know more than everyone.

Simple, sign now with the MFC or look elsewhere.

Keilty might not get another contract depending on which defenders we bring in this trade and draft, but he certainly should get another year if there is room. In hindsight we should have bought him in instead of Petty for the Saints game. He had a solid finals series in the VFL and was one of the few that stood up in the grand final. Can't rubbish a player who hasn't even had a crack at the AFL but who's VFL performance have been solid with a few BOG in there.

And as I've posted before, I think the Hogan trade is being driven by the club. Sign a contract now or move on. Which is entirely fair as Hogan has said he likes it at Melbourne and if he did sign a 2/4 year extension and things changed next year and he decided he wanted to go back to WA, then we trade him then.

I was talking about Vanders, I would expect the club to offer him extras to make life easier for him if he was going to stay but not force him to stay if he wants to leave.

Putting up a fight to keep a bloke away from his family who's father just died would not only be a fail for the club but a failure at humanity.

Hogan also speculative, we don't know if the club hasn't offered him 2, 4, and 6 year deals and said weigh that up with your offer from freo and give us an answer before trade period. Which is the club doing what best for Melbourne in my opinion. King and Flipper couldn't get a game in the VFL and we are bringing in Preuss. That's a win Bugg, it was time to go.
