  1. But do we ? Apart from the 2nd & 3rd quarters of the St.Kilda game & a half of the Geelong game I am yet to see this fast paced, free flowing ball movement consistently... I mostly see a side over posses, turn the ball over by foot, handball to flat footed players, forward handballs. I think back to the Hawthorn game last season & see better ball movement, link up run & efficiency going forward. I have a feeling it might all click at some point this season but has Goodwin gone too far one way in terms of attacking ? I'm more frustrated then excited with our style. I'm just confused where that style of play from the St.Kilda game has gone where it was a frantic, fast paced, exciting brand ?
  2. Ecactly the player we've been crying out for, for years. Ball use & compsure off half back he'll be a gun for years to come. Great pick up
  3. Well our season is cooked... 2-3 with no ruckman for the forseeable future. We'll do extremely well to get to 10 wins.
  4. I am a little disappointed in Goodwins selections so far.. It's a change from what Roos was, he would usually give players a decent run at it & wouldn't make multiple changes & chop & change the side from week to week. All we can do is trust that Goodwin is trying to find the right balance & dynamic. Having said that I think these changes this week are (on paper) are woeful. I hope I'm wrong. But 1- Why Pedersen was not bought in after 32 touches 10 marks as a forward/2nd ruck is a joke. Yes smith played a good game in the 2s last week but you dropped him the week before & in a big game I think Pedersen would provide more. 2- Melksham is getting a free run & is clearly his lovechild. He's played 2 average & 1 deplorable game & Bugg plays 1 reasonable game & is out ? 3- JKH ? Seriously.... I keep hearing his JLT for was good before getting injured & from reports his been mediocre at Casey since his return. I'd like to know in what world 11 touches & 3 tackles (JLT 1) & 11 touches 1 goal & 2 tackles (JLT 2) is good form ? We don't know what Kent has done wrong internally to go against team rules but 2 tackles in 2 weeks probably spells it out.. But whys he not given a chance to make amends like Melksham ? I'm less confident going into tomorrow now then I was before the side was announced... If we lose this game & the output from JKH, Melksham & Smith is below par then Goodwin has a lot to answer for
  5. Meh... If he left no big deal. His best is behind him. He provided leadership, direction & paid in dividends on the field aswell as adding some larrikin to the club & gave it a face. If he were to leave he's done his job & we are a better club for having him.. Might not be bes 22 come round 1 next year anyway. Also doubt he'd get a game at either adelaide club next year so you'd suspect he'd retire

Will be an interesting match up early & a rematch of the NFCCG... First game in the new Mercedes-Benz Dome. Relatively happy with the Falcons schedule, last year we had the hardest & look how that turned out. I'd be predicting an 11-5 again or 12-4 but who really knows.. It's interesting we finish the season with 4 out of our last 5 as divisonal games, that's pretty tough.. I read somewhere another team has the same, not sure if there's more.. Maybe the NFL is trying to keep later season games from becoming junk if teams seasons are over & keep some divisions alive longer in the season
  7. Anyone looking for selection tonight, don't. Club has tweeted side will be named Saturday. Strange...
  8. Sounds good in theory but I'm afraid Martin would hurt Petracca a lot more going the other way...
  9. Was having a chat to a fellow Melbourne supporter the other day & we both wondered whether he would or Melbourne would entertain the idea of him coming back to the club ? He got his premiership, he loved the club & you would imagine he would love to play in a final or 2 & a shot at a flag with the club he went through so much with. He is almost 30 & has one year remaining on his contract but he is the type of player we miss down back to take those bigger forwards & would allow Tmac to take the 2nd key & zone off... Thoughts ?
  10. I've said it the past 2 weeks & I'll say it again this week... Pedersen has to be bought in! We continually lack a marking option to kick to, it might change this week with Hogan in the side, but he still needs help. Bringing Pedersen is gives us: A) another tall to kick to/bail out kick who will provide a contest every time B) can play 2nd ruck & allow Watts to play permenant forward where he is at his best. I know Pedersen isn't the future but I still think he can play a pivotal role. He needs to be bought in this week. In: Hogan, Pedersen Out: Weideman, Melksham
  11. Yeah look in the 4th year of a rebuild I expect we would be beating a rebuilding Fremantle at the G... Why is it if the roles were reversed & sides were in the opposite stages of development, we wouldn't go to Perth & beat Fremantle.. Yes we are still learning the Goodwin way but we should not be losing games like we lost today at this stage of our development.
  12. What the hell is this ?
  13. Your 100% right DD... The game past him by half way through last year, he's ever reliable foot skills & decision making has evaporated. Why you try & pin point a 20m pass in the back 50 when you lead by 3 points is beyond me.. Kick it down the line & at worst cause a stoppage. That's not his only problem either, he consistently makes poor skill & decisions, I've been off him for awhile.. Not sure if the move to HB has been good for him, he can kick a goal so don't know why he isn't tried across half forward if he isn't up to the midfield anymore.. Least if he turns it over in the forward half it's not critical
  14. Every time I become at peace with Jake Spencer I remember the time against the Roos in 09' he dropped the ball when running in to have a set shot... In all seriousness though I am confident in Spencer, he has come along & will be more than capable to fill in for the time Gawns out. It's quiet scary that in some ways Spencer is more important that Gawn, we always knew we had a reasonable back up if Gawn went down, if Spencer goes does were screwed!
  15. Why is he even at the concert.. He's thrown the privilege the club gives him to go back to WA at numerous stages in their face & us as supporters. Fair enough go home for a few days while your suspended but don't go to a concert & smoke/drink especially after what you did to get suspended.. Not a good look. Just go home for the weekend & keep a low profile FFS
  16. One would make the assumption that the back issues which plagued him in round 1 & in the lead up to round 2 have caused the hammy injury.. Lets hope no surgery, as a guideline Jordan Roughead did some tendon damage to the hamstring against us in JLT one, had surgery & is still 5-6 weeks away, so fingers crossed it's not that bad
  17. Club just released a statement to say Gawn will see a surgeon monday on whether he needs surgery... Does not sound good
  18. I know someone who lost their big toe nail & I can tell you they were in some pain & had issues with it for months, couldn't wear a shoe for a couple of weeks. Obviously Vince is a professional & will be fine but would not be suprised if he misses this week
  19. At this stage I'm going with In: Spencer Out: Gawn. What has be a little bit concerned is not that Spencer can fill a role, we go from having Gawn as a weapon & us having a big advantage over our opposition to ua being on par or just below par with Spencer, I have no doubt he will fill the role ok it's just losing that advantage Max has will be huge over the next 4 or so weeks & big weeks too.
  20. 6. Jones 5. Watts 4. Hunt 3. Kent 2. Stretch 1. Jetta
  21. We only have ourselves to blame... Should be 4 or 5 goals up. Our bad kicking is made so much worse seeing they can't miss
  22. There are $15 general admin tickets on level 3 which is $10 cheaper than usual. Try the link below: http://m.ticketmaster.com.au/event/250052567EC71CD9?did=retro

Having watched it again I do sort of agree that it was more New england the comeback then Atlanta blowing it... My most vivid memory is when Alford pick 6'd Brady, I was losing my mind in the kitchen & my mrs wondering what the big deal was, I remember just yelling "he never throws pick 6's!!! We've got them now" only for it all to come crashing down haha!

Bit surprised about Romo calling it a day but when you think the run of injuries his had the past few seasons & at his age, would it really all worth it to up his family etc & move to another city for a season or 2.. He can retire a cowboy. Built up the courage to watch the Superbowl replay during the week. Still don't know how we lost but it's actually given me some closure haha. Can start looking forward to the season ahead
