If Port & GWS win today and we win tomorrow we are basically in even IF we lose to Collingwood next week, WC would have to beat Adealaide by as much as we beat Brisbane which you'd thinks unlikely... I know people will say just win our last 2 and were in but it's nice to know alternatives.... The thing is for us to avoid Sydney would be better for the dogs to beat port today

I have read that on the Port Adelaide forum that they believe Adelaide would host the Thursday night, apparently Adelaide fans like the home Thursday night games, but guess the AFL will do what's in their best interest. Couldn't imagine them putting Richmond on the Thursday night though so if we play Port over there most likely could be thursday night (unfortunately). Having said that you'd think the AFL wouldn't have bacm to back Adelaide oval games from a logistical point of view. So if we played Thursday night, it might rule out Adelaide for the Friday night so they may prefer an Adelaide/Richmond Thursday night. It will be interesting if it is Adelaide/Richmond over there aswel flights & accommodation will be madness for 2 vic teams heading over on the same weekend!

Spoke to a Richmond mate who went over for the 2014 final against port and he said that it was 50/50 which suprised me but guess it's only fair.. Doubt there'd be 25k Melbourne supporters so guess they get filtered back to Port

I'll be interested how Shanahan goes as the HC of the 49ers, from things I've read he was a very controlling offensive co-ordiantor & can sometimes be a bit stubborn & cute with his play calling, SB again another example... Reading stuff out of the Atlanta camp was how the new OC has let the players have a say & run things that suit them.. Having said that Shanahan orchestrated one of the greatest offenses last season so will be interesting how he goes as HC, I'm assuming he will be calling plays on offense... Goodluck to him.

If we lose to Collingwood & WC beat Adelaide in round 23 & Essendon wins both games (very likely) it'll come down to % between us, WC & Ess for 7th & 8th.. And technically dogs if they win round 23 but they wont make up the % to get in on 12 win... So we aren't assured until we beat Brisbane & Collingwood

Will be interesting how many we would be allocated as an interstate side... You'd imagine at least 10,000 would have to be avaliable for us at an Adelaide oval

Not sure how from a team preparation whether we played Thursday night, friday night or Saturday/saturday night matters ? The week off before hand means if we have 10 days, 11 days or 12 days... Not much difference

I'm not too fussed for a team perspective moreso as a fan. I'll 100% be going interstate if we make it but would much prefer it be on the weekend or Friday night at worst. Thursday night would be shocking to travel, be nice to fly over thursday morning and spend a few days around Adelaide/Sydney before we play on the weekend.. Thursday would suck, fly over and lose and have the rest of the weekend drowning our sorrows

If we make it and have to play a Thursday night final I will be f*****g livered... There's talk that it will be in Adelaide but if Adelaide are playing a Richmond I doubt they'd put it on the Thursday night so might leave us vs Port on the Thursday night.. Watch us get shafted if Essendon sneaks into 8th and plays Sydney... We'll be the ones left with the [censored] time slot

Interesting one, I think in the absence of Jones & Viney he was asked to take on a midfield role and the added load may have caught up with him.. I'm backing him in to turn it around, think if we were to make the finals he'd be one of the main beneficiaries of the pre finals bye.. The more he can stay inside & push up around half forward the better I think

I can just see us $hitting the bed in one of the last 2 games... It'll be so this club to find a new way to break us.

If Watkins stays injury free that's a huge weapon for the Rams offense.. Saw a stat at the same stage of their careers Watkins & Julio Jones have put up almost identical numbers

I must have been watching a different game because I saw him get out marked repeatedly and struggling to make a contest and bring the ball to ground.... Add to that the fact he doesn't have the endurance to compete when the balls there to be won, he has no urgency when the balls in his area.. It's not his fault he's just not ready for AFL football yet

Reckon at this stage we'll be playing in Sydney or Port in Adelaide which is more likely... Probably the better outcome of the 2 if we can't secure a home final... Hopefully the pies can knock off Port here

I always told myself through that losing streak to St.Kilda, "It doesn't matter, we'll beat them when it really matters" we've got 1 down this year already... Another one to go. Goodwins comments of "Come Sunday we'll see a ferocious Melbourne" if this side is made of anything that's what we'll see and get the 4 points

Pi$$ off... Your basing this on what, his body language when we are getting pumped ? I've sat through pretty much every game hes captained and never noticed it, I can cop that maybe he could do a better job at steeming the flow when the sides under the pump but he is one man, he can't do it alone... Put all that aside.. No'one absolutely no'one in the general public can question a captains leadership.. We see a couple of hours on a weekend, none of us have any idea how a captain leads during the week and behind the scenes so no he's not the "worst" captain in the leauge

Obviously we are a better side with Watts up and firing, I'd be reluctant to leave him out but on current form you can see why Goodwin & the match committee have lost patience... Petracca has to play permenant forward, out of necessity he has had to play 70% midfield the past month and we have missed his disposal across half forward & delivery inside 50 not to mention he's goal kicking power..
