From a quick look around the leauge a few take aways. Rams- gee that defense was good, throw in Donald and they will be seriously good. Andy Dalton- 4 interceptions and Bengals shut out, not a good start. Kizer from the Browns looks like he could be a player at QB. Carson Palmer - was as bad as Dalton. Cohen - Bears running back was awesome against Atlanta, one to watch. TJ Watt- 2 sacks & 1 INT on debut. Wentz - looked good, that opening TD was phenomenal. Giants - from what I saw & the scoreline, looked pretty average Elliott- didn't seemed to phased by he's offield today putting up over 100 Atlanta winning with a sack on 4th & goal with 8 seconds left, my heart can't take sport anymore and I'm in my mid 20's!

Whoever wins tonight will make the grand final IMO... Geelong or Richmond will have a home finals vs GWS/Port/West Coast. As much as it kills me I think Richmond win tonight and make the GF

The leauge has moved the Bucs/Miami game to week 11.. Huge blow for both sides, following week 11 the Bucs now have 2 road games @ Atlanta and @ Green Bay... While Miami now come off MNF to Tampa, throw their London game in and their schedule got all that harder. Will definitely make making playoffs tougher

It will be interesting what the leauge does with the Bucs/Miami game scheduled in Miami with this hurricane about.. Playing in Florida has been ruled out and now it's whether they relocate or move it to week 11 where both sides have their bye... Surely they just relocate, no bye is a huge disadvantage for both teams!

A week on and now that I've come round and the anger has subsidised I honestly feel that missing the finals in some cruel, twisted, f%%ked up way we are better off in the long run missing out the way we did.. It hurts so much because we have been so starved of success & finals but this will be the springboard for this club and playing group to launch into an assault at a premiership. From the board to the coaches to the playing group we will all be better off for it.. Goodwin & the coaching staff will learn from this and go away as he said and will find new ways to get better, come up with innovations to take this club to the next level not only to make finals but to do some damage when we get there. For the players it will be a lesson that every little thing matters and you can't pick & choose when you want to put in effort, it has to be every training session, every game, every quarter, every contest... Everything! If we snuck into the 8, the way we were going we'd be one & done and the coaching staff & players may not have had this view and think everything's fine and we're on the right track, it'll just happen.. The lessons learnt from the ending of this season are invaluable

Went with Hunts, to be able to nail a torp is hard enough but to get the accuracy is extremely difficult... Olivers was more a throw it on your boot & hope

If you believe the AFL website the Dogs were told last week they are out of the race so if my maths correct... Welcome to the MFC Jake!

People calling for Vince forward.... No. To play half forward these days you need pace and to be able to lock the ball in & create turnovers.. Goodwins game plan revolves around forward half pressure and turnovers, it may be adjusted next year but as it stands Vince is too old & slow for the forward line... Someone like Vandenberg would play that role so much better, can take a mark, has pace & tackles...

Don't take it as gospel but pretty sure theres no replays on 7mate, I could be wrong though... As much as I find it a rip off I just paid the $275 for gamepass so I know I can watch all games... Bloke at work chipped in $100 so has worked out ok for me

The Pies have requested to play us round 1 next year... Hopefully it comes to fruition, if this mob is fair dinkum.... We know the rest http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/collingwood-want-round-1-clash-against-melbourne-as-geelong-eye-carlton-at-cattery/news-story/dd6bdcd90c493cb73fc2789d567759c1

True but the crushing way we lost left me feeling much like Sunday night.... Sometimes the grief and disappointment isn't worth it!

He'll fit in well into our backline.. That horrible chip kick up the middle in the last 5 minutes that results in Lewis Jettas goal on Sunday

Is there a disconnect between supporters and the current crop of players.
JV7 replied to DaveyDee's topic in Melbourne Demons
One positive out of yesterday was those players had to sit through a game (Adelaide & West Coast) and know how us supporters feel week in week out watching them, when a side frustrates you and can't get the job done and there is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do about it and there's no influence you can have on the result and then they have to carry the burden over the next few days just like us supporters feel whenever they put in those performances! Hopefully they know how we feel week in, week out -
Alright, I have got through a days work & been for a long run (I suggest those who are capable do the same, it helps). Now, on my run I cleared my mind & put everything into perspective and thought of the year as a whole. We obviously made some improvements & adopted a more attacking, hard edge, contested game style which when applied for long periods of time & on the rare occasion this year for 4 quarters, we looked like a real contender. The problem is like I suggested in a post following the GWS game we are still such a young side, and I think we forget that & yes some will say "so were the dogs last year" but history suggests that you need to get to that 70-80 game mark before you really stamp yourself on the competition. We also have a coach who was in his first year with full reins, Goodwin will take a lot out of this year and will only be better for the experience. Add into this the fact we lost for the a lot of the season our: All Australian ruckmen (3rd B&F) Full forward (2016 leading goal kicker), Both co-captains (1st & 2nd B&F) 3rd tall forward (2016 2nd leading goal kicker) You take that out of any side & they will struggle, let alone be in the race for a finals spot with 3 minutes left in the season & miss out by the smallest margin in AFL history.... Yes, I know all these things happen and we were still in a position to make the 8 & shot ourselves in the foot on Saturday but I believe considering the age of the list, experience of the coach, injuries to key players we did a great job in actually being in that position in the first place. You look at the sides around us who didn't make it such as St. Kilda, they had their best side for majority of the year and with a coach whos in his 4th year and still couldn't get the job done. We are in such a better position than our rivals around us. I take solace from the Giants of 2015, where they were 7-3 at round 10 before injuries took ahold and a young side tired... They missed the 8 and finished 11th and then rocketed to the prelim last year. The key to this will be that the pain & disappointment of this is used in the right way, the coaching staff, players & leadership group need to make sure this is the end of all this S#it, that this is the turning point of this club & group and that this will burn away at them all preseason and redemption wont be had until we are there at the pointy end next September. "You will never ever be successful until you turn your pain into greatness, until you allow your pain to push you from where you are to where you want to be. Stop running from your pain and embrace your pain. Your pain is going to be apart of your prize, apart of your product. I challenge you to push yourself."

I'll wait until I see the full version but from those tweets it seems his missed an opportunity to give us supporters a full apology

When it's right there in the news feeds of Instagram not that odd

Not a delisting but I've noticed Weidemen like a couple of Collingwood posts on Instagram the last few days.. One of Daicos & Brown celebrating the win on Saturday (fair enough if not against us & the circumstances) & now one of Bucks resigning... Seems a bit odd

How Bontempelli is in there over Oliver & Cotchin is a disgrace... He's year has been average just shows you they pick names sometimes

I actually can't stay of Demonland... It gives me some form of comfort to read other people's thoughts & problems and realise your not the only one...

I was going to tell you to jump on the NFL thread but your already there... But wouldn't recommend anyone else to start following the NFL for some success... After my team blew the greatest lead in Superbowl history last year, I would stay away.. It's one crushing blow after the other, sport after sport

That's what s#its me... Us supporters still have to wake up this morning and slug out the daily grind and go about our normal week with this burden while they can drown their sorrows on the [censored] & in a week or 2 time will all be off galavanting around europe, the US, bali wherever it is with the 2017 season a distant memory while us supporters stew over this for 6 months. On a seperate note we as supporters are the ones who cop the s#it from everywhere, I doubt any players reveive multiple text messages last night copping it from mates and they wont walk into work this morning and have the whole office laughing and making you the butt of all jokes.. The players can seriously get effed
