Potential reality check coming; for when you look at the results, we haven't beaten anyone of significance except Port (and Collingwood has made that look less Impressive)!

    Geelong have beaten the teams currrently positioned 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th.

  2. No change. McAdam needs a full run and when he comes in it wont be for Billing’s who is rotating the wing spot as well as half forward. Petty’s form will turn and they will persevere with him at AFL level at least another week likely more whilst we win (no matter how) and kick scores.

  3. That is the most lifeless, leaderless, selfish half of footy I can recall by us. There is a lack of run, effort, dare. Some of the worst kicking execution and decision making I can recall. Where is this alleged "brand that our supporters can be proud of". Pull your finger out Dees.

  4. Absolutely. He is a jet beaten down by being in a poor constantly developing side.. Unless there is an A grade key position forward we can pry out (which I cant see) we need to improve our midfield quality and speed and he has it in spades and fits our age profile.

Just saw McCreery and ex-Pie, now Bulldog Poulter having a coffee.

Really wanted to ask McCreery if he would like to come across to the Dees.

His pace is a real weapon. Good player.

Average player with good speed who plays a role. Are you playing him ahead of Koz, Chandler or Nibbler?

What I like about Turner is he crashes packs with force when going for a pack mark, he is also a good reader of the play and a good kick and mark.

Agree. He has some speed about him and decent ground ball skills for a tall as well. I would give it a go.

  7. Interesting that Turner went forward and looked excellent until he then went behind the ball once we had the lead. He is too good for VFL, even after a stint off, is this the attempt to find him an AFL spot as the third tall forward if/when Brown wains?

A good comeback against mature bodies on a skinny ground. There is something to work with, with Verrall, Pup and possibly Sestan.

I am certain Saunders will get 25 touches against the Eagles today and get nominated over Windsor's low possession high impact game in a finals like atmosphere. Its just the AFL way.

Congrats to Western Builldog’s Harvey Gallagher for his 2 goal/16 possession nomination in his sides 76 point drubbing of West Coast. At least the AFL is predictable.

Early days but there is nothing I have seen from any of those taken ahead of Windsor, Reid included that would have me consider a trade for the whippet we have running the wing. Just has AFL elite attributes that you cant teach or develop and a body to build on that will just make him better.

I agree, AMW is nearly slated in, heard it on the rumour roundabout.

I just didn't see him in the first half, especially when the ball was in the area he was playing.

Given he is possibly one of next ones to be given an opportunity at AFL level, I was expecting much more.

Though, a bad day for many of them.

I would not be surprised if he plays the 2nd SA game on the short turn around.

  11. Petty back for May and Fullerton forward to maintain the 3 tall structure. Hore in for Lever and include a runner as sub (granted Casey cupboard feels a bit bare).

Changed my mind on this. Tomlinson in for May. Petty stays forward.

People suggesting Windsor or Hore as subs are of on another planet. BOTH GREAT LAST WEEK. Petty overated and lucky to get a game starts as sub!

I am in the risk averse camp and would not play Petty, particularly when we had a functioning forward line. In saying that now that he is named on the bench I dont see any value in him being the sub so choose to look at the other available options named on the pine.  Oliver is just not one. Tmac could be being Hawthorn forwardline is not tall but think less likely than the remaining two. Both Windsor and Hore were good but neither were great (would not have either in our best 10). Windsor was subbed off validating whilst quality he may not be able to run out a game. Hore also has not played much AFL match minutes thus far. I suggest in all instances we are trying to play the longer game but I do hope it is not ahead of risking early wins.

  13. Whilst I dont mind bringing Petty in without getting much touch I do have concern with bringing him in when he has not played a full game. In saying that I anticipate both Petty and Brown will start and we will see high rotation of 2 of JVR, Petty, Brown through the forward line as well as high rest rate for Gawn with JVR chopping out more. I suggest Windsor likely sub otherwise Hore as only other likely option.

    No change for me please.

Sparrow didn't fire but did anyone else shine enough at Casey to replace him?

He's a big body that is hard to match up on.

To my knowledge Sparrow had no midfield time (indicated by no CBAs). He played a high half forward pressure role and had the second highest pressure acts on ground for us with 24. I have a feeling he will be given high marks for playing the team role.

    Tomlinson out wtf????

Agreed. Tomlinson was one of few that beat his direct opponent last week. I would love to know what is expected of him to get a game compared to some who can have limited impact for weeks on end and continue to get a run.

  16. Sydney are a quality side. We were too fumbly(did not handle the conditions) and lacked offensive spread away from the contest. Gawn and Lever very disappointing. May and Viney could not have done much more. Howes has a very bright future. We really missed Koz and Laurie, Chandler, Spargo, Billings when on all may as well not played. Good to get that tough game on the postage stamp of a ground out of the way. Best to forget it and move on.
