Splitting Draft Pick 3
- Brad Hill
They'd needed a lure to get him to nominate them so that Freo would only deal with them and now they are reaping what they sowed.- Brad Hill
I imagine their initial asking price for Langdon will be Pick 3 based on this.- Brad Hill
Fremantle up to their old tricks.- HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2019

I'm not sure we'll go for either Bruce or Jenkins. We didn't appear to be open to play 3 tall forwards in 2019 so unless things change I can't see the current FD going down this route.- Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
Here’s the breakdown: A: Max Gawn, Clayton Oliver B+: Jack Viney, Tom McDonald B: Nil B-: Nathan Jones, Christian Salem, Angus Brayshaw, Michael Hibberd, Kade Kolodjashnij, Jake Melksham, Bayley Fritsch, Steven May C+: Christian Petracca, Jake Lever, Sam Frost, Aaron Vandenberg, Jayden Hunt, Alex Neale-Bullen, Marty Hore, Josh Wagner, Neville Jetta C : James Harmes, Billy Stretch, Mitch Hannan, Oscar McDonald, Joel Smith, Corey Wagner C-: Jay Kennedy-Harris, Braydon Preuss Developing*: Sam Weideman Developing: Charlie Spargo, Oskar Baker, Harrison Petty, James Jordan, Tom Sparrow, Toby Bedford, Aaron Nietschke, Austin Bradtke, Kade Chandler For a team that has had so many top draft picks, for the players not to have elevated themselves and/or received the right development to become very good AFL players or stars of the competition by now is alarming.- 2019 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw
Despite playing every game, Brayshaw’s impact was seriously curtailed after a stellar 2018 saw him finish third in the Brownlow Medal. He struggled with consistency and some maintain he was carrying an injury, but he still produced some exciting patches of play to finish eighth in the Club Champion Award and will be keen to improve on that in 2020. I don’t think we were ever in control but I’m happy that the Pies salary cap is collateral damage in this whole charade.- Josh Jenkins

- 2019 Player Reviews: #9 Charlie Spargo
The diminutive forward suffered from the second year ‘blues and struggled to find consistency and form sharing his time this year between the seniors and Casey. - THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2019
PART THREE - DEJA VU I was shocked to read that Adelaide’s Alex Keath has gone through medical examinations at both the St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs which uncovered the fact that he had a stress fracture in his leg. It brought back painful memories of the time a few years back when then Demon Jack Trengove paid a visit to the Richmond club doctor who diagnosed a serious foot injury and ended any chance of a trade to the Tigers. As a consequence, Melbourne missed out on selecting Jake Lever in the national draft and the rest is history. The Crows are looking bad. It’s bad enough that half their team wants out, but their medical staff seems to have botched Keath’s recovery when they diagnosed the stress fracture weeks before the end of the season and decided that it wasn’t serious enough to warrant surgery. Keath has since had an operation and will now be out of action for four months - his suitors are so unimpressed that they are rethinking their offers for his transfer. Needless to say there’s no trade on the immediate horizon for the hobbled Crow. There were no trades anywhere else on the horizon with the Joe Daniher deal remaining in limbo. The Bombers remain on everyone’s radar with forward Orazio Fantasia set to announce a preference to join Port Adelaide now that he’s decided on a new manager and the club is also said to have been in talks with Collingwood about the availability of Mason Cox (presumably a replacement for Daniher when they eventually sit down and talk trades). There will be no trade for Collingwood high-flyer Jamie Elliott who has decided to remain with the Pies, signing the reported two year deal on offer. Meanwhile, Brisbane has given out of favour duo Tom Cutler and Lewis Taylor their blessings to explore finding a new home. Good luck with that! So the second day of the trade period is over without a trade and less than a handful of free agency outcomes. It’s like watching paint dry. DONE DEALS SATURDAY OCTOBER 5 • Brandon Ellis joins the Gold Coast Suns as a restricted free agent. Richmond receives a second-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #39). • Cam Ellis-Yolmen joins Brisbane as an unrestricted free agent. Adelaide receives a third-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #47). MONDAY OCTOBER 7 • Adam Tomlinson joins Melbourne as an unrestricted free agent. GWS Giants receive a second-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #40).- THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2019
