To report or edit a post, simply click the three dots located to the right of the poster’s name. Previously, the Report and Edit "buttons" were positioned beneath the post itself. That layout was moved to the three dots a long time ago in a previous update but I was able to reinstate it to below the post using a third-party tweak to the website code. Unfortunately, when we upgraded to the new platform, those custom tweaks—along with a few others I had made over the years—were removed, as expected. I’ll look into reinstating them if possible, but for now, you’ll need to get used to the new location of these functions. If you notice anything else that seems missing, has moved, or if you're having trouble finding a feature you previously used, feel free to post in this thread. I’ll either investigate or point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the New-Look Demonland! You may have noticed that Demonland has undergone a bit of a makeover. We’ve freshened things up with a new look and feel, but rest assured — the heart and soul of the site remain the same. This thread is your go-to place for reporting any bugs, glitches, or issues you encounter while navigating the updated site. Please let us know if something isn’t working as it should so we can sort it out as quickly as possible. Just a quick note: difficulty adjusting to change isn’t a bug — we get it, new things can feel a bit strange at first. Give it a little time, and we’re confident you’ll feel right at home. Trouble Logging In?As mentioned prior to the upgrade, you now need to log in using your email address, not your old username. If you're running into login issues, please follow these steps: Try the "Forgot Password" tool if you still have access to your original email address. If you're still stuck, use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page and we'll help you out. What’s Changed?Apart from the updated visual design, most of the features and functionality you’re familiar with remain unchanged. It’s the same Demonland you know and love — just with a modern facelift. We’ve also added Dark Mode! If that’s more your style, you can toggle it on by clicking the Moon icon at the bottom of the page. Help Us Iron Out the KinksWhile we’ve done our best to test everything, there may still be a few gremlins lurking. If you spot anything broken or behaving oddly, please report it here. We'll continue to tweak and fine-tune the design over the coming days. Thanks for your patience and support — and enjoy the new Demonland experience! A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO @Nasher for persisting with the upgrade and finding the solution. We nearly had another failed upgrade. We were 19 points down in the 3rd quarter and he went BANG! BANG BANG BANG!!!

Probably a good idea that the site was upgrading whilst the Bombers got their first win of the season.

The pressure is on for Melbourne to win its match up this week against the Gold Coast Suns who, by virtue a combination of the AFL’s weird fixturing and a tropical non-cyclone named Alfred are one of five of the competition’s undefeated teams. Strangely enough, despite their impressive percentage of 277.6 they are only sixth on the ladder, their only game being a Round 1 virtual walkover against the West Coast Eagles in Perth which basically, was a training run against witches’ hats. Melbourne itself performed that same Eagles role in the final quarter of last Sunday’s game against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium when it capitulated to the speed and run of a young up and coming team which controlled the middle and was high on confidence against a team which ran out of puff and could do almost nothing right in those final thirty minutes. The were some extenuating circumstances that have been discussed extensively but there will be no excuses this week. Despite evidence to the contrary from Hawthorn’s run into last year’s finals after a 0-5 start, a loss on Saturday to the Suns at home would be a disaster and unacceptable. A failure on the part of the coaching panel to address the forward line’s shortcomings against the Kangaroos would be unforgiveable and unacceptable. A show of team love that also involves fumbling, poor decision-making, and a lack of awareness about what your opponents are doing, whether in defence or in attack, would be a cop out and unacceptable. Taking the opposition for granted would also be unacceptable. Playing Jekyll and Hyde football from week to week would be an insult to us all and unacceptable. The only thing that supporters would find acceptable is 100% effort and no excuses that should in any event, be kept “in house”. The club should therefore be desperate to turn things around and gain some momentum before the return in the next round of quicker players like Kozzy Pickett and Caleb Windsor who were both sorely missed during last week’s final term rampage at Marvel Stadium. They face the Suns who are a strong side at the stoppages but were well and truly exposed in that department when they met at People First Stadium only seven or so months ago. This time around, the Demons have a handy pair to add to that mix – Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca although the latter might also be needed to provide some forward power as well. The redeeming feature for the club stemming from the fact that the Suns have only played one game in a non-pressure cooker environment is that they might be coming into the game a trifle underdone. That might also have been the determining factor in the Demons’ defeat at the hands of the Giants a fortnight ago when they lost to a last minute goal after seemingly having the game in hand for most of the last half. All eyes will be on skipper Max Gawn who has had to shoulder a great deal of unnecessary attention after the rare occurrence of lowering his colours for the first time in living memory in the final quarter last week (i.e. two less hit outs and fewer handballs than Xerri but still a decent effort in the circumstances). That isn’t likely to happen again but for heaven’s sake, let’s give him some decent support! Melbourne has established a winning streak of 12 consecutive games against the Gold Coast Suns stretching back to April 2014 when they won by eight points at the MCG. In the interim, the teams have only played three games at that venue, the last time being in August 2018. If we were to rely on history, the Demons could already claim the victory but unfortunately, things don’t work that way. However, I do know that in their last meeting at the Suns’ headquarters, they smashed the home team who were strongly favoured to win and therefore, I’m going for the underdogs to withstand the pressure of the past week and to win by 25 points. THE GAME Melbourne vs Gold Coast Suns at the MCG Saturday 29 March 2025 at 1.20pm HEAD TO HEAD Overall - Melbourne 15 wins Gold Coast Suns 3 wins At the MCG - Melbourne 5 wins Gold Coast Suns 2 wins Past five matches - Melbourne 5 wins Gold Coast Suns 0 wins The Coaches - Goodwin 1 win Hardwick 0 wins THE LAST TIME THEY MET Melbourne 18.9.117 defeated Gold Coast Suns 9.9.63 at People First Stadium, Round 23 2024 A weakened Melbourne team, despondent after four defeats in a row, travelled north to a place where no team from out of the state had conquered the Suns during the season and despite the fact that they were on the nose form wise and many of their stars were out, the Demons were far too composed for a disjointed home side and won by nine goals with Jack Viney and Ed Langdon starring and the young tall key forwards finding some connection with the dominant midfielders who kept them well fed all game long. 7. Demonland posted a post in a topic in Casey Demons
The Casey Demons squandered a perfect opportunity to draw first blood with some wayward kicking for goal in their opening round of the Smithy’s VFL competition for 2025. They managed just two goals from eleven scoring shots, not all under pressure, in the opening term which was an indictment on the overall team effort and a recipe for disaster. As a consequence, North Melbourne was able to remain involved in an arm wrestle with Casey throughout the rest of their match and threatened to take all the premiership points on offer when they kicked four straight unanswered goals from time on in the third quarter until five minutes into the last. Fortunately for Casey, it was not done yet and the team courageously fought its way back into the game with goals to youngsters Chance Doultree and Noah Yze before Tyler Edwards levelled things up. North responded with a goal but Tom Fullarton kicked his second goal with a minute or so to go to give the home side a 1 point lead. The Kangaroos surged forward for a point and a late snap went out of bounds on the full. Siren. Draw. The Demons’ best player was Riley Baldi who was at the club a few years ago and went to play with Moe where he won the Gippsland League medal and was acknowledged at No 5 in a list of last year's best 50 country footballers. He has come back a much stronger player and was instrumental with 32 disposals, ten clearances and six tackles. Along with former St Kilda and Port Adelaide defender Riley Bonner (35 disposals, seven marks and four clearances) they have added a point of difference to the Casey that languished so badly last year. Tall forward Caleb Lewis who was seldom seen last year showed improvement up forward with two goals. It's been a long time since Casey had a winning ruck and the acquisition by Melbourne of Tom Campbell marked a substantial change for this game with his 28 hit outs to go with his 23 disposals (5 marks). He worked well with the club’s number six AFL Draft selection Harvey Langford who got better as the game went on and his impressive figures of 23 disposals and a goal (five clearances) including some strong work to set up attack should give him a look in at senior selection this week. Another who might come close to selection is Fullarton who was dangerous around goal and should have kicked more than his two for the day. Bailey Laurie played well given his limited time on the ground, presumably due to being on call for the main game. Playing a draw in your first game is a neither here nor there start to a season but Casey does have a lot of talent to come into the side, especially if the AFL injury list can be contained and also with the return of Mitch Hardie and Roy George who missed this week. Next week presents an early Saturday morning challenge when the Demons return to Casey Fields to take on the Gold Coast Suns who have been strong in recent years and should provide another test of the team’s improvement.
