We only know the actually dates and times of the first 15 rounds. We know who we’re in the last 9 but not when.

The AFL on Sunday confirmed it had adjusted the weighted rule to accommodate the extra round which means each club plays double-up games against six teams (instead of five) in 2023. The league also confirmed there would be a pre-finals bye on September 2-3 next year, despite opposition from top-four clubs that it advantages teams in the lower part of the eight.

I take your point. I was going to do a separate AFLW Grand Final podcast but I was just post op for my shoulder surgery at the time. Whilst not the reason for talking about the AFLW Grand Final at the end on this podcast the live listener stats each week drop as soon as we start talking about the AFLW. This fact does not deter me from discussing AFLW. During the Live show the other night we had about 50 to 70 live listeners throughout and during the time that we were talking AFLW it dropped into the teens. I have the LIVE listeners stats open whilst we are broadcasting live and this dramatic drop off in listeners is a weekly occurrence when we start talking about AFLW. To be clear this lack of interest whilst disheartening does not dissuade me from covering AFLW on the podcast or helping to promote the game in any way that I can. I recognise that the more that we cover the game and give it exposure the more interest that there will be. I have no such stats to draw on from the downloaded/streamed shows once they are uploaded as listeners drop off stats aren’t provided. Engagement on Demonland’s various social media pages is also quite low for any AFLW content we posts (with the exception of the Premiership winning post after the Grand Final). Whilst I understand that mens content engagement is going to trump the womens, the gulf at the moment is huge. We should promote the game more and give it equal billing but I don’t think Demonland as a website can be accused of ignoring the women’s games. We post a match preview & report prominently each week and there is discussion of the games and any news. One of our first interviews on the podcast was with Mel Hickey. This was organized directly through Mel. At another time I requested an interview with an AFLW player through the club and I didn’t receive a response back and haven’t actively tried again. I hope to promote the women’s game on Demonland and the podcast more in the future and do appreciate the feedback.

Draw difficulty The top finishing team from the 2022 season (Geelong) is assigned 18 points. Moving down the table, each team is then assigned one less point with the team that finished last worth 1 point. Each teams matchups for the season are then combined, with the opponents points tallied. The tally shows which team has the most difficult draw based on how well teams performed last year. Port Adelaide 228 Sydney 226 Brisbane 225 Fremantle 223 Richmond 222 Western Bulldogs 221 Geelong 221 Hawthorn 220 GWS Giants 220 Gold Coast 218 North Melbourne 215 West Coast 215 Essendon 214 Collingwood 214 Carlton 214 Adelaide 214 Melbourne 212 St Kilda 211

Based on the remaining fixtured but not scheduled games we might have up to 4 extra Friday night games. Carlton, Brisbane, Sydney & Richmond

Melbourne (3) Luke Dunstan*, James Jordon*, Alex Neal-Bullen Neal-Bullen may not have a mighty reputation outside the Demons but is highly regarded internally for his work ethic, running ability and defensive nous in attack. He hasn’t lacked the senior opportunities the likes of Jayden Hunt and Sam Weideman did when they chose to leave this off-season. So long as it stays that way, Neal-Bullen will likely extend his stay in red and blue. Jordon was the medical substitute for Melbourne’s drought-busting 2021 grand final triumph and was better again this year. Could Lachie Hunter’s arrival impact Jordon’s opportunities? Fringe midfielder Dunstan is entering the second and final year of his contract after crossing from St Kilda.

Process of elimination for those wanting to book to go to Alice Springs for the Dees vs Giants game. Gold Coast are playing Adelaide on Saturday June 3rd in Round 12. Currently we are only listed as playing the Giants in Round 16 with no set date. Round 16 should be on the weekend on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd of July.

As long as the $500,000 cheque clears I don’t really care.

I was wondering that too. We are the double header to the Port game. Does that mean the premium seats will be unavailable/empty.
-
Only Geelong or Collingwood could pull off a heist like that.

Yeah I didn’t take into account that this is essentially an extra round but then again we’re talking about the AFL so logic goes out the window.

I just saw that SoundCloud posted on Twitter that they had an outage on their end a few hours ago. Should be good to go now as others have said. In future if one service is down please try another. We are on Apple Podcasts, Google, Spotify & SoundCloud.
