Coaches IN and OUT in 2009

Featured Replies

After having a look at the draw for this season as to the finishing positions of last year i really think Choco from Port might be in trouble

Port doesnt get much victorian press which is understandable

I can see them only winning 1 game against essendon in round 7 and maybe the next against carlton in round 11

We dont play them until round 21

After their dismal grand final display their confidence with be shot if the eagles beat them on sunday and thats in WA

I also expect Terry Wallace to be replaced after this season if Richmond doesnt make the final 8 and i doubt they will be consistent enough

Even if the Crows make the 8 i am starting to think time is running out for Neil Craig also

I also think this will be Paul Roos swan song and he might walk away from football altogether

With Collingwood and Malthouse who knows but time is running out

My predictions

NEW and SAFE

Blues - Ratten

Bombers - Knights

Demons - Bailey

Dockers - Harvey

SAFE

Roos - Laidley

Hawks - Clarkson

Cats - Thompson

Saints - Lyon

SHAKY GROUND (FINAL 8 FINISH DEPENDANT)

Magpies - Malthouse

Lions - Mathews

Bulldogs - Eade

Eagles - Worsfold

Crows - Craig

GONE after 2008

Tigers - Wallace

Power - Williams

RETIRE after 2008

Swans - Roos

REPLACEMENTS

Predictions

Swans - John Longmire

Tigers - David King

You also have to take into account these 2 new teams the AFL is planning to introduce and knowing the AFL as we do they will be planning there coaching preferences well ahead of time

The 2 New teams 2012

Sheedy Malthouse Mathews, Eade , Wallace , Ayres ?

And the new breed Voss , Buckley , Mckenna, Sumich , Bond ?

i dont see choco williams going anywhere anytime soon

we might be seeing kevin sheedy back at the toigs

the next coaches over the next three years will be longmuire, bond and mckenna

I know you have put a fair amount of effort into to your post, but i see no point in discussing whether oppostion coaches may or may not be around next season, maybe take that over to Bigfooty.

....

After 4 completed rounds, your making an assessment of the coaches' future. Amazing

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
