Bate back this week?

Featured Replies

According to the Age, Matthew Bate is a possible return this week. The injury list is:

Aaron Davey (foot) - further assessment

Matthew Bate (hamstring) - test

Jack Grimes (groin/shins) - 2-4 weeks

Would walk right into to the CHF position. Hoping he is right to go.

On Bailey's 'only play if 100% fit' ideal, he will play 3 weeks for Sandy.

Doesn't matter if he kicks 10 for Sandy this week, won't play for us the week after.

He is VERY keen to play this week and is hoping very much that he gets the nod

wonder how long it is til grimes become 426 weeks

Grimes wont play until the 2nd half of the season at best I'd say. Not that it matters, as there's no need to push him early in his career when it is completely unnecessary. Hopefully he is given time to overcome his injuries before they become chronic and turn him into another Rivers, Sylvia etc.

Bate probably wont play this week. I'd say he'll play for Sandy, and then return in Rnd 4 at CHF in the role he played most of last year.

I'd love to see Bate play this week. It'd make me look slightly less ridiculous wearing my Matthew Bate badge on my pashmina (but only slightly).
