Money from state Gov.

We're a club that relies on welfare, so the funding is warranted.

Relevance? I am saying I bet the money is to be used for something totally irrelevant to our needs.

If the money is going to the club, whether it be for facilities or in cash, how can it be irrelevant to our needs?

Without jumping to conclusions, as I dont know the facts, I am tipping that it will be allocated to an area, that is not fundamental to improving the team or cash balances in the immediate term. I may be wrong, which would be a first, but as I said I dont have the facts yet.

Everyone seems to think the monies will be allocated to improving the drinking water quality for lesbian single mothers living in yurts.

These concerns may well prove to be unfounded.

Hopefully the money will be spent on additional training facilities at the Bubble Dome, where school kids can be bused in to have "training days" with Demons players and coaching staff with the aim to get enthused about playing sport, proper nutrition etc.

An indirect kicker for the Bubble-dome would in all likely hood be the most probably reason.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
