Robbo Cleared

Finally some good news from the weekend.

Robbo was reported for making high-contact with Andrew Swallow, but the MRP deemed that contact was unavoidable. No wonder he chucked a tantrum after the incident.

Two reports and two not guilties in 2 weeks. Surely that would have to be a record.

And lucky the panel didn't scrutinise the dust up on the grandstand wing where Sylvia laid a couple of 'cut lunches'.

quick work by mods there !!! ta :)

This is the first time I've seen it mentioned anywhere.

It looked like Sylvia gave him a good couple on the chin.

Yeah and there was also a photo taken from an offical AFL photographer that clearly shows a Sylvia fist in a North players face.

Good to see you can still get away with stuff on the field

well, down at casey fields in a preseason match between the two loneliest sides of the competition you can

Sylvia has a head full of steam that is starting to work for him on the field, but he better be careful not to add suspension issues to his already precarious rate of getting on the field

For sure. From where I was standing it looked like at least two landed. Glad it slipped through.

If you look closely you can see that the North player was infact head butting Colin's fist!

I think someone elses head headbutted Cols fist in the Sandy grand final a couple of years ago if I am not mistaken

Robbo cleared of accidental head-on contact with Kate Cebrano [they say things happen in 3's]

Scores: 9, 9, 9, 9

Thank god he was up first, I turn over the channel now

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
