It's a big day for the country today and I think everyone would join me in wishing CAC and the team the best of luck today. This is their grand final and what they work for all year. It's a tough gig because in a practical sense they won't know if they got it right for years to come and their work could come unstuck for many reasons beyond their control.

Of course, there will always be the critics who thought they could have done better and that sometimes includes people like me (but at least if I do it, it's always in the nicest possible way !).

We've all read the phantom drafts but in the final analysis those things are like the polls - they're only indicators and the real thing happens today.

So good fortune for this morning. I hope things fall your way, that you all have smiles and grins on your faces when you sit down for a well earned lunch today (probably liquid) and that come one September in the very near future you and all of us will feel the satisfaction of your hard work finally coming to fruition.

PS: has anyone noticed that CAC's starting to look more and more like Kevin Rudd every day.
