Rumour has it that the mfc has apparently told a host family to prepare for a kid from Perth.

we are taking a midfielder with pick 4, Cotchin and Kruiser are almost certain to be in the top3 picks...

therefore the best midfielders available are Masten (WA), Palmer (WA), Morton (WA), Myers (WA)...even Rance is from WA...

also with picks 14, players like Gourdis and Steven Browne are also from WA i believe...

so unfortunately that information doesn't offer many clues apart from that with so many highly rated WA kidz, and with 3 top picks, we are likely to pick up a perth kid.

It's almost certainly true, but it's just being prepared for the (strong) possibility that we'll take a kid from Perth. Don't try and read between the lines. We will almost certainly have not 100% made up our mind on who to take until we've seen who is left.

Bizarre side story of the draft - there's a real chance West Coast will end up with as many as four Victorian players, based on the various phantom drafts I've seen, but at the same time there's a whole host of quality players who'll be coming out of the west to play in Victoria.

Quirky.

Be interesting to look at this draft in 4-5 years time to measure the so called 'go home factor'

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
