he's done himself no good

He doesn't claim to be bigger than any club and when he rules teams out everyone is going to want to know and ask him "why?" What's wrong with a bit of honesty? Melbourne have extremely ordinary facilities and if that's one of the reasons why he didn't choose the Dees then he can say it. And if it's so bleedingly obvious that the facilities are crap like you're all saying then why do you care? He's just stating the obvious. Are Port Adelaide supporters going to hate any media person from now and for ever because they said they were terrible on Saturday?

It always has been easy to get a laugh by coming on and reading some of the dribble on this forum.

I suggest you quietly slither away!

now you're starting to pee me off.

pull your head out of your bias.

if the excuse HE provided is true (facilities), then he knew this BEFORE he nominated us.

therefore the question to ask is 'why did he nominate us?'

his motives seem dodgy or clumsy.

both are worthy of criticism.

buggered if i know where your allegiances lay

You're clearly related to Chris.

Melbournes facilites etc are well known.. very Public knowledge ( bordering on ridicule ) . If this was a deal breaker.. hy evenput us on short list.. Clearly something doesnt jell. I sincerly thought he was of good character & moral fibre.. Bloody hell Bub...you've fcuked up again !!!:wacko:

To be fair, chris judd never came out and said it was our facilities, it was a media release by the club, and a fairly crap one, that made us look like the biggest bunch of faeries ever, talking about how flattering it was that we were in the mix. With all this talk of the facilities excuse being BS it would be in judd's best interest for him or his manager to come out and say that it was BS and because if that was true then he seriously did just drag us along. judd definitely could have gone about this whole thing better, but it isnt all his fault with the whole media circus that seems to be following him, alot of players go around and see and talk to different clubs, its just that it isnt given this much coverage.

From what we mainly gather here it is a Statement reflecting what was sent to us ( MFC ). There is no point in lying or misrepresenting it as it would only be refuted.

The words.."to be fair " and Chris Judd " need to be very carefully used when occupying the same sentence !! <_<

haha, point taken, ill be sure not to make the mistake again in future

true, it just beggars belief that would be the reason though but yeh i suppose we just have to take it on face value. Either judd or his manager are idiots if that was a reason given because that just doesnt add up.

To be fair, chris judd never came out and said it was our facilities, it was a media release by the club,

so you would rather believe judds manager, as told thru dwane dibbley, than the club.

if you want to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone, why not give it to the club?

Well its certainly not over by a long shot.. the West is about to all but declare war on Filthville. Ought to make an interesting spectactor occasion !! :D

Before hearing about all the Dwyane Russel stuff, at the time when I read the statement when it first came out it just didnt make any sense to me that that would be a reason in him not choosing us and at the same time keeping carlton in the mix. if it was for more money at carlton or exposure at collingwood thats his choice but saying that facilities were factor just smelled to me at of BS and trying to paint it like it was just the facilites that ruled us out. As i said earlier, if that was the reason given then he or his manager are defintely morons of the highest orders.

Most definitely, I can only see this getting nasty and should at least make the trade period interesting.

The "OX" is an absolute idiot. He has no idea about the game.
Started well there. I'll value OX's opinion over yours, thanks anyway.

And i cannot believe what all you people are starting to say - unbelievable. Because he made a decision that doesn't sit right with you wankers he's a hated man.
What would we say after being stooged into a carefully orchestrated sideshow, "Thanks for considering us Chris, your a champ, good luck at Collingwood". Are you Steve Harris' copy writer?

He's a victim of his own high-profile and talent. He cant play for everyone. He has made his decision so deal with it.
Hardly a victim of anything. He is having his ego stroked more aggressively than any player in the history of the game!

Why did he have to chose Melbourne? Because if he did there is no doubt all of you would be so far up his arse saying "what a champ" and "he's my hero". Absolute Tossers!
Don't need to tell you about the possibility that he could have contributed to lifting a club from mediocrity and obscurity that could have been the icing on his career and even won back WC supporters. Those actions would certainly be worthy of those sorts of accolades. It will never be like that if he goes to Collingwood, surely you are smart enough to work out the difference and the meaning of it to MFC supporters (you are one aren't you?)

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
